Instant MBA: When You Focus Too Much On Your Business, Creativity May Be Lost
This article conveys a message of having a rounded life instead of a completely career focused. Creativity is sparked sometimes from taking breaks from hard work. Breaks in hard work allow the mind to wander which allows for new ideas. Focusing too hard on a particular subject does not provide enough stimulation for broad innovation.

Instant MBA: When You Focus Too Much On Your Business, Creativity May Be Lost
Everyone always has a moment when they need to take a step back and just take a deep breath. We always need to take a second to gather our thoughts. It's like writing a paper then taking a break. When you go back and read it later, you almost always find mistakes that you didn't catch before.

There is nothing wrong with working hard when it required it. Sometimes your do need to sacrifice your many things in the name of crunching down. However outside life can be inspirational. Doing new things allows for new ideas. Many physicists are also naturalists and enjoy vacationing in nature in order to find new inspirations. Most of the universe is composed of the same processes.

This is a great article and causes me to refocus my thoughts and or efforts toward my own business. This article reminds me to not always be laser focused on success or what I am out to achieve because that could in the long run bring my business down. I have seen this in personal experiences that someone will work so hard and not deviate from the path to an extent that hurts them personally and professionally. Going out with friends and having a good time is a good thing when you feel too focused on something. Letting off some steam is not always a bad thing.

Instant MBA: When You Focus Too Much On Your Business, Creativity May Be Lost
Sometimes too much focus could be a bad thing. Have you ever worked a math problem and realized that you have been sitting there for hours working on one single problem? You finally take a short break and come back to it and realized that the problem took only 2 minutes to solve. All you needed was just to clear your mind and the correct answer was right before your eyes. The real world acts the same way. When we focus too long on one thing, the creativity can be lost and it is hard to find the answer that you are looking for.

Instant MBA: When You Focus Too Much On Your Business, Creativity May Be Lost
This great advice for many aspects of life. Getting too bogged down with details and deadlines can lead to high stress levels and can crush creativity. In one of my favorite Youtube channels, Asapscience, it was recently filmed that the key to increased productivity isn't working more, but working more deliberately. In fact, studies show that breaking work into sessions with planned breaks actually help the mind stay more focused and committed to fully developing a task to fruition. Sometimes taking a break to clear the mind can help put things back into perspective. Furthermore, isolating oneself from outside experiences can actually hinder creativity. We learn by experience, and therefore, opening ourselves up to experiencing more can sometimes lead to the perfect idea! Sometimes I find myself stressing to find a perfect word or phrase when writing a promotional piece, and when I take a break to walk outside, or chat with co-workers, the answer just appears in my head! Our minds need experiences to work, and sometimes working harder is not always smarter.

I find this article to be very true and helpful. I tend to stay too focused sometimes and lose sight of what I am really working towards. While being focused on a project is a great aspect to have you want to be able to step away and find inspiration from other sources rather than just your business connections. So having a well rounded social life as well as a personal one, you are more likely to keep your friends, family, and loved ones close while still being able to accomplish all the work that needs to be done in a timely fashion!

It's awesome to have a goal to accomplish and overall stay focused on it, but I do believe it is so important to step back and take a break every so often. I feel that it's easier to be creative and come up with fresh ideas when you don't feel that you HAVE to think of something on the spot. For me, creative thoughts usually come to me while I'm doing something that has absolutely nothing to do with the project I need them for. This happened to me recently. I needed a creative topic for a project coming up soon and could not think of anything at all while under the pressure of needing to find one. However, while spending time with my friends that weekend, casually talking about different events and the perfect creative idea for my upcoming project popped in my head and got me brainstorming. This is why I think it is so important to not get too fully engrossed in anything and to always give your brain some time to wander and get creative.

Instant MBA: When You Focus Too Much On Your Business, Creativity May Be Lost I always though focus was the key to being successful but i guess this article was an eye opener in a way. Still keep the same focus but enjoy life a lot also. Some of the greatest idea come from people just messing around having fun or just by accident. I'm going to stuck with my laser focus for now until i feel confortable enough to take a break, in my eye nothing wrong with being focus and having a break but sometimes you feel something are more important.

Instant MBA: When You Focus Too Much On Your Business, Creativity May Be Lost I think that people should not focus strictly on their business or work in general because they need to be able to have a life outside of those activities. When watching movies or hanging out with family, business workers can gain value inspiration for new projects. If one only knows what goes on in the office then they miss out on new opportunities. People get frustrated when they can’t figure something out they get stressed and unmotivated. When people take time to relax and spend time outside of work their brain has time to think.

Instant MBA: When You Focus Too Much On Your Business, Creativity May Be Lost
This article shows that to be successful in a field where creativity is needed you must be social. I think most fields needs that creativity in order to come up with new methods of solving problems amongst other things. If you are losing your creativity you will soon after lose what motivated you to be creative. I think back on Michael Bloomberg's article about working hard and i think you should and could always make time to go other unrelated work activities. So if you are working hard and geared towards a certain goal do not forget who or why you are working hard and still enjoy life. Doing this will keep your mind fresh and keep you grounded so creativity can always be in your front pocket.

When You Focus Too Much On Your Business, Creativity May Be Lost
This article makes complete sense when it comes to being innovative. If we remain so focused on one big picture, then how can we explore the many others out there to enhance that "idea?" As he mentioned in the article, he got too caught up in focusing on something that wasn't even a tangible idea that he lost his passion and reason for his whole reason for focusing. This summer I took an entrepreneurship class and I had to come up with an idea. My head was filled with so many cool ideas that I didn't know where to start or how to organize them. In that process I felt frustration, loss of hope and loss of interest among many other feelings. Towards the end I was able to clear my mind and see clearly. Over all, we have to hold on to our passion to keep moving forward to our vision; if we lose our passion or inspiration, then we've lost everything.

When You Focus Too Much On Your Business, Creativity May Be Lost
In this article, Hunt states a good point, when you are locked into a project you can lose focus of creativity. A person can become isolated and lose focus of there creativity. Separation from family and other activities outside of work is where your creativity started from so why abandon that source of information. Being creative is what drives companies like sears and Hewlett-Packard. While taking a step back and re calibrating Hunt realized that he was losing his vision, community, and passion that started his business.

Instant MBA: When You Focus Too Much On Your Business, Creativity May Be Lost
I can relate to this article. Often times when I have worked on a project I focus on completing it and ignore everything else around me. Sometimes it is necessary to take a step back from the work and give yourself some time to relax. You can still think about the project, but the stress of completing it will be gone and your brain can focus more on the project itself versus the stress of completing it. Asking others for their opinions or constructive criticism will also help. I can see how this would be necessary in the business world as well. To be successful, it helps to utilize all the resources available. When peers like friends and family are ignored, you lose some of the best creative sources available. You must complete the work, but do it in a way that benefits everybody and it will more than likely turn out better.

INSTANT MBA: When You Focus Too Much On Your Business, Creativity May Be Lost
Focusing on your business too much is something to be afraid of, just as much as not focusing enough on your business. I find whenever I am doing a lot of work in one day on my business my thoughts tend to all fuse together. My dance studio require a lot of creativity. I have to choreograph every dance, pick out every costume, and organize every recital. Doing too much choreography in one day will cause all the dances and all the choreography to fuse together and tend to look the same. Creativity and thoughts tend to come with what type of mood you are in, which can differ from day to day. I also have a tendency to want to finish anything I start in one sitting, but in business I had to learn that it's okay to take a break a finish the task at a later time when your brain is fresh.
