Instant MBA: Recognition Is the Best Motivator
This article could not be more correct. Most anyone in the world will feel more useful and motivated if they know their work is noticed. A small e-mail or quick conversation letting someone know that you notice their work and to keep up the good work will make them feel like they are a part of your company. If they feel included they will be more motivated to work and give their ideas to help the company. If a worker feels like their work is unnoticed or only hears when they do something wrong, they will be less motivated to give ideas and help. In my experience playing sports, I would be more motivated to work harder and better myself when I had praise from a coach letting me know that I was doing well. Not only in business or sports, but in anything, being recognized for your hard work is motivating and beneficial.

Instant MBA: Recognition is the Best Motivator Companies who recognize employees for their hard work tends to get more done. Employees who actually work hard deserve that recognition and to feel like their hard work isn’t going for anything. At the same time, those who don’t work hard will want to get that recognition and want to do better. It’s a good situation all around because it will help with morale all over the business.

This article makes a great point. Recognition is a powerful tool to use to help build your employees up. It is no surprise that recognizing hard-working employees can help a company in more ways than none. When an employee feels appreciated, he or she will feel invested in the company's success. Employee recognition can be as simple as a handwritten note or e-mail letting them know that they are doing exceeding well. I know it makes me feel good when my boss points out my hard work. It makes me want to keep it up and continue going the extra mile in anything they ask me to do.

Instant MBA: Recognition Is The Best Motivator
Recognizing one is a really good motivation in business. When someone is recognized it encourages them and increases sales. An employee who feels like they are part of the company and invested makes the employee put in more valuable time work hours. This could help one in the future to recognize your employees and help motivate them to increase sale for the business.

Recognition is VERY important for any business. Working everyday in the same place can become so mundane after a while, making it difficult to be enthusiastic and motivated to get your work done. Having reassurance that you are doing a great job can greatly benefit the attitude of your employees. They will choose to work harder and stay on task and positive by knowing you appreciate them. Also, sometimes when an employee never hears feedback, they may take it in a way that they are not that beneficial to the company and you never want your employees to feel that way.

Barbara Corcoran says, "Let me tell you, [recognition] drove the sales force to think differently. And so, what I found, is I learned to use recognition again and again to build people up." Recognizing employees is a good motivator but I don't know if it's the best. But recognizing employees is a great tool because it can push them to do better and if other employees well see it and it can push them to do good as well.

Instant MBA: Recognition Is The Best Motivator
This is an important article and business owners and managers need to realize that it is important in motivating individuals. If people know they will get recognized and their work is appreciated they will put forth way more effort than they would have if no recognition was given. Anytime I get recognized I always have people come up and congratulate me on what I did, it always makes me feel better about how I do my job. This was a good article with some valid points.

"Recognition is the best motivator"
Recognition is key when dealing with employees. It gives them confidence and feedback. I quit a job once because I was not getting any recognition. That's not to say I thought I was better than anyone else, but I did noticed a few things. Several employees were always late and left early, while I showed up early and was forced to stay late. They were worshiped by management while I was left high and dry; but somehow they were surprised when I put in my two weeks notice. It's always important to give recognition to the employees that deserve it. It shows that you really appreciate them and that they are an asset to the company.

Instant MBA: Recognition Is The Best Motivator
I couldn't agree more with this article. I have had several jobs where I felt very appreciated and was recognized for my hard work. I have also had my fair share of jobs where I felt as though I was just a number, or another employee on their payroll. My previous job was drama filled and had segregated cliques within the organization. Rumors were constantly being thrown around, every employee was for himself. The job I have now is great. All of the employees are like family. We respect each other and have a strong culture. My manager is always complementing us on our hard work which in turn makes us feel like we have made a positive difference in the restaurant. I think it is more important for managers to recognize you for your accomplishments and reward you rather than to criticize your mistakes. If you want to motivate your team of employees, the first step is to let them know that you are aware of their contributions and show gratitude.

Instant MBA: Recognition Is The Best Motivator
Recognition is a great motivator. People love to know how well they perform. It builds up their confidence and self esteem. Plus some people use recognition as a measurement factor of their hard work. It also creates a positive atmosphere for employees to work in and gives them more to work toward. I believe Barbara was right when she said recognition makes employees feel apart of the company.

Making an employee feel valued and appreciated is so important to employee morale. Recognizing an employee's hard work makes them feel valued, like what they are doing matters and will be willing to keep working hard to hopefully be recognized again. By showing some sort of recognition, other employees who may not be working to their full potential will be motivated to work harder so that their efforts will be recognized as well. Recognition is an easy way to improve productivity and efficiency among employees by just thanking them for doing what they are supposed to be doing.

Instant MBA: Recognition Is The Best Motivator
I could read this article over and over again. I wish I could send this article to a few managers, past and present. There is no better way to motivate an employee than by recognizing what they are doing. Even if it's a small email or note. A simple email stating how well an employee may have worked on a job or what they have accomplished while being at the job. It makes a huge difference when you know that someone is recognizing the good things an employee is doing. Lucky for me, I have had a couple managers I have worked with that believe in this idea. They continue to see what is getting done and the quality of work their employees are bringing to the table. Needless to say, everyone wants managers.
