Instant MBA: Recognition Is The Best Motivator
I believe the topic of this article is very important. Employees at all levels of an organization share something in common: a desire to be recognized for their efforts. Also, the same principe applies to every aspect in life; we are going to be motivated to do anything as long as our work is recognized. It is proven that just a few recognition words can have a significant impact on the performance of an employee, and it also represents an opportunity for any manager to keep his workers motivated and productive. Finally, I believe that recognition can be more important than financial reward for many employees at various jobs.

Instant MBA: Recognition Is The Best Motivator
As I stated in an earlier post, I feel that recognition is very important in motivating individuals. I recently had the opportunity to lead a project with a team that typically doesn’t get the opportunity to work on projects. I used this opportunity to bring a lot of attention to their work and recognize them for their efforts. This recognition really helped this group become more involved and take more ownership in their own work situations. This was a great success, but that is not where this effort stopped. There were also many individuals that were not a part of that team that seen how this team was recognized for their efforts. As a result we started getting volunteers from many parts of the organization to participate in following projects.

I agree with this article one hundred percent. In order for your employees to feel valued you should give them recognition for the hard work and great job that they are doing for the company. This lets them know that you appreciate them and that their hard work does not go unseen. When employees feel valued, I do think that they will work harder which in return will benefit the company. I know that my supervisor at work always recognizes the hard work that we do and it does make me feel more appreciated and makes me want to work harder.

Instant MBA: Recognition Is The Best Motivator
This article definitely made a great point. I believe if supervisors and upper management recognize their employees for the good they do they will indeed increase productivity and the confidence levels of their employees. An employee that has been recognized for something he/she did will be motivated to continue to work hard so that he/she will hopefully be recognized again. As the article mentions, recognition can be as simple as a handwritten note or e-mail, as long as your employee sees that you are acknowledging their efforts they will definitely continue to improve. Employees are one of the most important aspects of a company. Making sure that you encourage and motivate your employees to succeed at all that they do by recognizing their uniqueness and success is very important.

INSTANT MBA: A Big Indicator Of Work Ethic Is If You've Worked From A Very Young Age
I never thought of this idea when interviewing prospective employees. A agree that working at a young age does indicate a good work ethic, but make sure the employee has worked steady throughout the years. If several periods of unemployment or job hopping beware of hiring these workers. They may not have the best work ethic. Also, having open communication between employees and managers keeps both parties involved in the relationship.

Instant MBA: Recognition is the Best Motivator This article is very unique, and I have to totally agree with it. Recognition goes a long way, especially in any type of business. I personally believe that it is one of the most important aspects of a company, because if the employees aren’t feeling appreciated for their work, then eventually they will find a company who does. Recognition of employees will help a company move from the bottom to the top. Even if it’s something simple like a note or a phone, just to say that you’ve noticed their dedication and appreciate it, which will motivate them to do even better. It’s the little things that count the most.

Instant MBA: Recognition Is The Best Motivator
This is certainly true, because even if they accomplished little in that day and get recognized it feels good. Keeping the team strong through recognition is a powerful asset to a leader. I have seen many managers recognize me for doing what I was supposed to be doing. Even though I sometimes didn't get everything done, I was still praised and that made me feel better about where I am working. I would like to see a lot more leaders and managers learn more about what recognition does for an employee.

Instant MBA: Recognition Is The Best Motivator
My belief is that all people want to be recognized in a way that is very meaningful to them, and also in a way that is very sincere. I have seen first hand that recognition from a person of high esteem motivates employees to put forth their best effort and perform at higher levels. All because employees want to know that their work is valued, and not just done for a pay check. The point is to show your employees that you care about the work and effort that they put forth unless it is not worth the recognition.

At my job, we do employee of the month. It is a small favor and they normally get a free movie ticket or a coupon for dinner. You should see them fighting and trying to "one-up" each other to be that employee. It's the small things that keep people going. The simple things in life that managers take for granted, they should use to promote good work ethics to those that they lead.

Everyone wants to be appreciated for any kind of work they do. It gives you a sense of accomplishment when you just get the occasional 'good job' at the workplace. It makes people feel good and it makes them want that feeling over and over again. If you recognize the job an employee or employees have done, then they will want to work just as hard next time because they want that feeling of accomplishment again.

Everyone loves to be recognized for something. If someone you know does something good, recognize it. In business, recognizing the hard work done by your employees ensures that they will strive to hold those standards and hopefully grow. Recognizing your employees can create a sense of positive competition amongst the staff. They will want to work harder to win the appeal of higher management and the recognition from their peers.

Instant MBA: Recognition Is The Best Motivator
The company I work for takes time in the morning to recognize different employees and it's a huge motivator. When people hear their name called for doing an excellent job it puts a huge smile on their face and it makes them work even harder. People feel really good about themselves when they know that their actions are being told to the rest of the employees. Anytime I get recognized I always have people come up and congratulate me on what I did; it always makes me feel better about how I do my job.

At Raising Cane's we've realized how much recognition can boost crew morale and performance. We have a program called "Cane's Love," which consists of "Reward, Respect, and Recognition." What we do is try to pick a crew member from each shift that preformed extremely well or greatly improved, and we recognize them for doing so. We have hand written notes, gift cards, free food and many other great ways to reward our employees. The crew gets so excited to receive any of these rewards and it really motivates them in their future performance. I know that as a manager, when my General Manager gives us a gift card for doing especially well, it makes me strive to do better so that I can continue to receive praise.

If people know they will get recognized and their work is appreciated they will put forth way more effort than they would have if no recognition was given. I know I become very energized and super motivated with my boss gives me a compliment or notices I have gone the extra mile at a project.
