INSTANT MBA: You Keep Up With The Competition By Building Internally
Culture is everything to a company. Every company should be built around a strong culture. Culture is always something that customers pay attention to. When a company is known for taking care of their customers, then they continue to have loyal customers. Sometimes with a company that continues to grow at a rapid rate can sometimes get caught up. They forget what it took to make it there. They begin to forget what the brand itself stands for and this is never good for a company. The strongest part of a company is understanding what a brand stands for and continuing to do what is needed to keep the brand image a good one.

"You keep up with the competition by building internally"
Culture is key in every job you have. A weak culture can cause your competitors to become advantageous over you. Building a strong culture for your company can not only keep you ahead of the competitors, but it will also keep your employees happy. I've worked for a few companies that had little to no culture at all. There was no job satisfaction and no room for advancement of any kind in the company. Mission statements and goals weren't clear to any of the employees. This lack of culture caused a large amount of turnover. Companies need to develop a strong internal culture to prevent any issues in regard to job satisfaction and help lower turnover rates.

Culture is definitely majorly important to any company. Culture gives employees a sense of pride and belonging, and that, in turn, will make employees want to work harder because they are working for something they believe in. Culture can be hard to develop and maintain throughout the development of a business, but it is something that in the long run will benefit a company and its employees, and overall develop a better workplace for people.

This article is spot on. I agree entirely with the message. One of my favorite examples and inspirations of growing a strong culture is Raising Cane's. I have watched this business grow before my eyes since I was in high school and I believe that the culture that Mr. Graves managed to grow and maintain with his chain is outstanding and the entire key to his success. I have always used his philosophies of growing a great culture in your business to guide my management decisions.

To be successful in the market and with customers, a business must know who they are as a business. Having employees and managers that are so invested in the culture of the business will show when dealing with clients and customers. A good sense of business culture that is expressed outwardly and shown through marketing strategies, products, services, and interaction with employees gives others a clear sense of what the company is about and helps build up a good reputation with any and all that buy from or work with the company.

People are attracted and want to stay with companies they feel match their core values. These core values are found in a company culture. When companies build their company culture to meet their core values, it will in turn reinforce their brand. It is similar to family environment. Those who can stick together for a common goal will ultimately succeed, in business and personally. If you want your brand (or family) to reflect a supportive and loving environment, it must start from within the business in the culture. Companies who value their internal cultures must nurture them and continue to focus on its importance; otherwise it will crumble and damage the overall brand.

Organizational culture is an essential part of what makes a company successful. A good organizational culture will spread to every aspect of a business, but the same can be said about a negative culture. The employees will not be the only people to experience the culture; the customers will experience it too. As an entrepreneur, you must always monitor the culture an address potential problems that may affect other aspects of your business. Having a great culture will ensure that your employees enjoy their work environment and this should lead to better performance and increased profits.

I believe that it is important for everyone to get along in the company and be able to accept each others differences and work through their problems. If a company has a good culture, then it will show internally and externally. Building a company internally will help it succeed in the business world. If your company is not able to grow and change as the business community grows and changes, then it will not survive.

After reading the article, it is perception that in order to have a prosperous business, it takes being culturally diverse within the organization to remain competitive. That’s not to say that the business will not grow but, if you continue to use the same formula or people, how do you expect to get a different outcome. Within any organization, innovation and creative starts within and based upon consumer response, changes could be implemented externally following the trends of that particular time. Throughout my work history, I’ve seen how businesses don’t reach their full potential due to internal problems or fearing change. Reaching consumers of all walks of life requires having people on your team that have first-hand experience culturally.
