INSTANT MBA: You Keep Up With The Competition By Building Internally I agree with this article. Having a strong business internally will make your company successful in many situations. The trust and hard work of your employees will allow for your company to adapt to situations while staying profitable in the process. If the culture is weak then when change is needed, within the company, employees may tend to not work as hard if they don’t agree with the changes because they have no trust in their leader about his decisions. A good leader or owner would make having a strong culture one of the main objectives of his company so when these situations rise he or she wouldn’t worry about if their employees will quit on him or her.

It's always good to have a back up plan. Then it's even better to have a back up plan to back your back up plan. Being Tenacious means you should prepare for the worst, hope for the best and expect the unexpected. By always being prepared with other alternatives your can be ready for anything.

INSTANT MBA: You Keep Up With The Competition By Building Internally
This article could not be more true. Building your foundation of employees is what can set you apart. Finding people who have great moral and are dedicated can allow your business to shine. Unfortunately, having that one employee who does not shine and constantly complains can set you back majorly. He/she will bring down the others and eventually have followers. Fixing this person's attitude and/or replacing the person is a must to keep your business where it needs to be to succeed.

INSTANT MBA: You Keep Up With The Competition By Building Internally
Whenever a bunch of new business pop up at the same time all doing the same thing, it can become difficultto stay ahead. But if you were the first company to do it and your success is the reason others have followed suit, then you must make sure that you don't fall into the trap of "keeping up with the Joneses." You were the best first, so just focus on your employees and work place and brand new ideas, and it will be impossible to it stay ahead of they curve.

I agree with the article about how you should create a strong culture in a business. You should have beliefs, goals, and rules that everyone in the company can be familiar with. If everyone follows the same beliefs, goals, and rules within the company then they are following the same culture. Some companies are organized so well and those companies have a distinct culture that everyone in the company is familiar with. I think organization in a company is very important to success.

Having a good business and maintaining that business starts with having the right people, and building the right culture. Employees like working for someone who has a strong culture, appreciation of their employees, and is thriving. If a company makes the culture important and it is reflected by the employees, they are more likely to build good customer base and with that it will be more successful than competitors. One top of that, having a good culture, means having a competitive advantage over the competition because it helps you to attract loyal customers.

INSTANT MBA: You Keep Up With The Competition By Building Internally
I've seen a local business utilize this business practice. About a year ago, the first frozen yogurt place opened up in Slidell; it was called Berry Tart. After they opened, about 5 other shops popped up around town, including a TCBY. The company really focused on exceptional customer service and product quality- both internal factors. Because they used this tactic, they succeeded in staying open, while the other stores did not. Because TCBY is a franchise restaurant, it is still open but people choose to continue to go to Berry Tart because their products are generally fresher and better tasting then TCBY. Because this little business focused on building internally, they perfected what they did best and they succeeded.

INSTANT MBA: You Keep Up With The Competition By Building Internally Nice article. Once you're able to build up the branding and culture it's very important to keep it up. I once worked for a company that had a great internal culture which over spilled into the community. It's a great advantage when having competitors.

I like this article. This point shows evident in businesses like chic-fil-a and Canes. These businesses have very energetic, happy employees. Happiness is contagious I feel. Every time I leave a chic-fil-a or a Canes I feel happy that I went. Aside from a good product, the energy that your brand leaks onto others can be huge. Make a customer feel happy they will come back.

INSTANT MBA: You Keep Up With The Competition By Building Internally
"No matter where you go in life, never forget where you came from." I've always heard this quote, but as I'm getting older and experiencing more, I'm beginning to realize how true it is. As the article says, this quote holds true for businesses as well. No matter how successful your company or product gets to be, you have to continue to focus on your core and what made you successful. Otherwise, if you lose focus on your employees and internal growth, they will start to lose focus on keeping your company successful.

INSTANT MBA: You Keep Up With The Competition By Building Internally
A well put together team of enthusiastic employees with a strong company culture will get a job done with a sense of team-wide pride. I agree that you must build around what you already have and stay true to who you are in order to sustain success. One of Raising Cane's main focuses and a part of its vision statement is its culture. Our company prides itself on having a "cool" culture and firmly believes that this culture sets them apart from other quick service restaurants. If the culture is weak then when change is needed, within the company, employees may tend to not work as hard if they don’t agree with the changes because they have no trust in their leader about his decisions.

I like this articles point of view. A strong internal culture will help to grow a businesses reputation. In a consistently changing world today, having a strong culture in business is important. For a business to be successful with all the outsourcing and things happening today, a company has to be willing to make any necessary changes to stay competitive. Having a strong internal culture is step in making this happen.

INSTANT MBA: You Keep Up With The Competition By Building Internally
"The people you hire and the culture you build internally is going to be reflected in your brand and who you become externally." Culture is often what sets your company apart from others when faced with competition. The product, service and image behind the name is what keeps customers coming back. I know personally, while cost is an issue, it is not the only issue. I want to know that I will only spend the money once.

Culture is a key aspect to every business. The culture of your company is what people cn view externally. The culture of your company will effect how passionate an employee is to work for your business. Google has an amazing company culture and it attracts some of the best computer engineers and programmers because they feel comfortable in Googles culture and relate to it. Everyone knows Google has a friendly employee culture and they view the company as being a happy and effective company becuase their employee's will stand for the company's name.

INSTANT MBA: You Keep Up With The Competition By Building Internally
What Ms. Busque speaks of is the idea that happy internal culture produces a good product and happy employees. The happy employees interact with customers, which in turn, drives up sales, which in turn drives up revenues. In today’s market, if businesspeople get information on what a new startup is doing, they tend to use the information to gain entry into the market. The key to staying competitive is not worrying what is happening outside the company, but keeping the internal culture vibrant, innovative, and enthusiastic. This allows for more creativity, and can allow for outside influences to not affect the business as much.
