What I took away from this video is what he called the "sea of sameness". Now a days a lot of companies have similar products, similar price, similar quality, etc. It can be very hard to differentiate yourself from others in the same industry. He talks about ways you can stand out from the pack. The web world is very important when dealing with customers. He said with E-commerce you are either on the bus or off the bus. Your community around you can also be very important and helpful too. While this video was not my favorite, it had a couple good points.

Too many companies are far too similar to be considered different. Almost every industry is crowded with identical or similar products with almost no differentiation in their entire creation process. The web is an extremely valuable resource that can connect companies to consumers to receive unimaginable amounts of feedback on things they should consider. This source and that feedback is what companies should use to avoid falling victim to sameness.

Companies that get caught in the "sameness trap." as he calls it in the video, find themselves there because there is no creativity. They're in a market where they have similar employees, ideas, products, and prices as their competitors. Companies need to reach out and make an effort to differentiate themselves from other companies in the same market and also advertise themselves using these differences in quality. In the video, he speaks on e-commerce and how critically important it is. Keeping a presence on the web can allow companies to keep customers in the loop and get feedback and ideas from what these customers want from their product, moving them away from the sameness trap.

When you broke everything down you really see that many companies try their best ot set them self apart from one another but like the video said most companies are spitting images of each other, they may do a few thing different but in a big way everything they do someone or everyone is doing it as well. I really enjoy the video just get me a sense of how much we so focus on things in business they we may thing we are doing something different or making a huge step in the future but in reality we are not.

TITLE - Tom Peters: TRAPPED! How To Escape the Sameness Trap To be sincere i did not like the way he explained, it is difficult to understand because he go around the bush so much. What i take away from the video is the "sea of sameness" which is that many organization and people are doing the same things.I partially agree with him, i think the internet has so much information where people get the information and that is why they are sameness- because they use the same ideas from the internet. I grew up and go school in where there was no internet and every school project was reading from the library and creating your own ideas. But since i came to United States everything is "google" and the teachers like it. In U.S i realized that teaches like to hear the same stories over over which are probably on internet.

TITLE - Tom Peters: TRAPPED! How To Escape the Sameness Trap
To escape this sameness trap you have to think outside of the box. You have to start thinking about how you can up your competitors. Sometimes this sameness is solved by just advancing a product that is already made or by completely coming up with a new idea. In my dance studio I have to come up with new ideas every year for my recital theme. If my ideas started getting boring then that could effect my services for the following year.

TITLE - Tom Peters: TRAPPED! How To Escape the Sameness Trap
This video has a point. Products are getting better and becoming more superior. However, they are also becoming more and more alike. There is not much that separates companies from other companies. It is important to be able to create something that sets you apart from everyone else. Whether it be your customer service, your services offered, or even the product itself. There has to be something that makes customers want to come and buy from you instead of another company.

The sameness trap is a challenge for businesses and individuals alike. Differentiation is important to stand out and have your imprint seen in the world. When everyone is thinking the same, no one is really thinking or innovating at all. Companies and people like to just stay in the sameness trap because it easy to follow and not lead. But the companies that lead and differentiate, we recognize them. Companies like Apple, Google, and Facebook are companies that we often talk about and notice because they are not stuck in the sameness trap.

TITLE - Tom Peters: TRAPPED! How To Escape the Sameness Trap
Companies are stuck in the sameness trap. They try to create products that are similar to other companies and try to have lasting growth by doing so, but that doesnt work. Sometimes a company has to be creative and grow there company to be different than everybody elses. You are or if a company is stuck in the sameness trap they should change something.

I definitely agree with these videos. The "sameness" trap that happens to businesses is something that can cause a business to go under. Differentiation is something that is really hard to do and maintain, however, in the long run it can set you apart from the competition and put you at the top.

This video talks about the sea of sameness. Being different is essential for competitive advantage. Sometimes it's hard to be different, especially in this economy that's why it's important to do what others aren't. One main thing this video focuses on is the importance of e-commerce. I realize that this video is kind of old because e-commerce type businesses are more common than ever. Still just because it's common doesn't mean it should be passed on. It is important to keep up with the competition but at the same time, always keep on the lookout for ways to escape the sea of sameness.

This video is about what sea of sameness. Companies have the same products and services. Dealing with same industry may cause someone idea to be copied legally. The question is, how can you stand out. I agree with the man in this video even though it was 8 minutes long lol

Tom Peters: TRAPPED! How To Escape the Sameness Trap
First thing mentioned is the Sea of Sameness Yes, this is true and has been all along Peters makes points on how even the companies themselves are aware of it, but still follow that path. I am in the car business, so what i notice is that all the cars are starting or have started to look that same. That makes me upset because to me it seems all the car manufacturers and designers have lost their uniqueness and touch. I feel now it is super easy to get a car with almost the same design with about the same quality, so to say. The thing companies are doing is building off of each other over and over again with just matching their stuff to their competitor's to be "better". However, that is far from true because if they wanted to be different they would come up with the idea themselves rather than branch off.

Tom Peters: TRAPPED! How To Escape the Sameness Trap
This was a long video to get a simple point across. However, I do agree with it. It today's times, there are a lot of companies who get caught in the "sameness trap". Too often, companies are too busy trying to mimic the "in" product that they don't spend the time to differentiate their products. If companies spent the extra time differentiating themselves from other companies, they could stand out among the other companies and gain new customers.
