Another reoccurring theme is treating your customer like people and not like wads of money. This concept is so easy I feel like this should very common for businesses to remember, but I guess it is different when you run a business of your own. I do like how this business delves deep into a customer's life without being too forward. She had great ideas like sending flowers to them for appreciation of their support for your business or birthday cards. This store doesn't seem to be too large or popular but it does seem to have a loyal base that appreciates and respects the business for treating them so well. It makes me wonder what large corporations can do if they used tactics such as this.

One job I have had in the past really stressed the importance of emotionally connecting with the customers. After I got the hang of nit, I realized that unlike myself, people really just want to mention what happened to them or what they are going through and they just want someone to vent to that doesn't know them just to get it out and vent. That emotional connection keeps people wanting to come back because they will never forget that experience of chatting with a real person with a smile and welcoming them with open ears.

You can do many little things that let your customers know that your truly care. Sending birthday card/e-mails, or even letting them know about special events is something that can help you know your customers by name and get to know them better. It always makes the customer feel more valued when you take the time to get to know and understand them.

87 TITLE - The Spot: Build a relationship with your customers
Business owners need to have a good relationship with their customers. Rather it be a restaurant owner or the CEO of Google. At a restaurant you obviously want the customers to have a good experience. You want them to know who you are and that you run a great business. If they see you on a sign in the restaurant that will help them put a name with a face. Customers do not want to feel like they are just another dollar for the business. They want to feel like you care.

This video shows a business owner who uses relationship marketing as her main tool in gaining business. She said that she's tried everything but building relationships and investing in customers lives has shown to be the best tool for her. It is important to treat customers as friends rather than just another number. Word of mouth marketing is one of the best marketing techniques and building relationships helps this.

I would definitely share this video with friends and colleagues. Thank you professor. I think that building relationships is key in making a business thrive, grow, and sustain itself. Without these things a business in sales can go down the tubes. In my business, industrial sales it is so important to create report with my customer base in order to become a better salesperson and for the customer to know I have their best interest at heart

I really like her philosophy. Relationship marketing is very important, especially for a small business like the one in this video. She mentioned that social media and 'likes' do not necessarily equal sales dollars or a good relationship with customers. I keep hearing over and over again in my classes about the importance of social media for a business, but I am not convinced. I have seen no convincing evidence that there is a correlation between 'likes' on a business's page and an increase in revenue.

This lady is delightfully correct when she says, “Whatever it is that’s important going on in their life, recognize it. That person is going to be a repeat customer, is going to bring in their best friends, their next door neighbor.” Most businesses have a Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, website, and such, but is it really enough? Are all these electronic platforms enough when everyone is competing through the same methods? I believe the answer is no. While electronic platforms prove strong, there is still a strong need for personal and emotional relationships/connections which are easier to establish in person. Customer relationships are a competitive advantage as they can add value to services, products, and customers. Relationships are especially important for smaller companies because they are cheap and free; smaller stores are more cost sensitive.

TITLE- The Spot: Build a relationship with your customers
In my opinion, business can be simplified to making relationships with other people. Customers in any market are looking for a brand to meet their needs but with every need that is met a connection is made. Each connection forms a memory influencing the perception of that business to the customer. Ultimately, as managers, we must understand the value of brand loyalty and constantly push for the deepening of this relationship if we expect to develop a loyal customer base.

I love this video! So many business have lost sight of their customer relationships and customers want to feel important and they want to feel like your business belongs to them in a way because you make them apart of it. There is nothing i hate more than calling a business and talking to an untomated voicemail. I want to talk to a person. My problem would get solved alot quicker if there was a human being helping me. My dogs vet sends her a birthday card with a present every year and i think its little things like that that keep people loyal to businesses. I know it definitely works on me.

Relationship marketing comes from the heart and those customers will help your business grow. Personal touch is how she uses relationship marketing. More marketing doesn’t mean better marketing. Keeping the customer feeling valued will help you keep that customer and they will bring in their best friends and family and your customer base will grow.

Establishing relationships with customer is one of the best ways to keep a customer. It is widely known that it is cheaper to keep a customer than to find a new one. Therefore, small businesses should strive to differentiate themselves by utilizing relationship marketing. While time consuming, it is a great tool if the manager or owner was already planning to be at the store.

When dealing with customers you have to build a relationship that isn't fake. You have to have legitimate conversations with customers to develop a strong relationship with them. If you try other marketing techniques, they might not work because they aren't guaranteed to be effective. Building a great relationship with customers can help you do the marketing because the customers will want to keep coming back. Sometimes they might even bring their friends in the store with them to go shopping.

Customer relationships are truly the best marketing tool a company can have. I work at a restaurant and this is one of the methods we use to create regulars. Every server has a customer that will walk in and ask for them. We have had customers coming to us for years because of the relationships they form with their servers. In a product based company, customer relationship building could be more difficult. I've noticed that several stores will send me birthday discounts and gifts. As the lady in the video mentions, this is one of her tactics too in relationship building. Having a company be thoughtful is a great way to have repeat customers and good word of mouth reviews.

I agree that building relationships with customers is very important. With that personal relationship they will come back and make the business grow. I became friends with the manager at a retail clothing store and whenever I would go to shop she was always willing to help. Personal touch is what customers want which makes them feel valued.
