I agree with her. Its almost like you have to get to know someone to really appeal to their shopping experience. When you do get a little information from people then you just have to run with it. Making people feel special also helps when trying to make a sale.

I love the way that she starts off the video: "Relationship Marketing has to be real and from the heart." If someone is faking a passion for their companies happiness,it will show and you will not succeed. It is so true that personal touch is what they want. Sending flowers or birthday cards are prime examples of ways to keep customers. As long as your customer feels valued, you will keep them as a customer. I think this is one of my favorite examples because you can hear in her voice how sincere she is about relationship marketing.

I agree with this to an extent, however, when I personally go to shop, I honestly want to be LEFT ALONE unless I need help, and then, only then do I want to talk and wouldn't mind a friendly person who cares to help me out. I think cards or whatever would be nice, but oh my God, do NOT call me. So, with this tool, I think you have to be careful. There are two different types of customers. I'm the type I described before. My mom is the type who wants a "best friend" in the store to shop with her. You really have to be to read your customers to be able to pull this trick off.

I definitely agree with the point she makes that relationship marketing is very important when building a company. I work in a sales department, and one thing that customers appreciate is knowing that they are able to communicate with their sales rep. and have access to them at any time. Sometimes calling potential customers stands out more than advertising in a local newspaper or magazine. Direct contact is the key.

I work doing RV repair and sells. When you meet a customer for the first time you need to gain their trust. Once you do that they area customer for life and they will refer at least 5-10 people to your business in a years time. Just think if that trend continued you would have more business than you know what to do with.

Personal touches can make customers keep coming back to your company. Calling, sending flowers, ext. on important moments in your customers lives will keep them coming back as well as them bringing thier friends to your company.

This is the best form of marketing. It works better on a smaller scale but can be done on a larger one. Now one problem with it is it can be the most time consuming. A good thing about it is it is free monetarily. Its works for the same reason that you try and personalize every job resume you are sending out.

I think my favorite part of the who video was when she said "we build relationships by making the customer feel valued." When a customer feels like they are valued, they are more likely to come back. It's one of the biggest rules in the business world: value your customers. Building a more one-on-one relationship with them can create a lasting value the has a higher return on investment.

This was a great video and I couldn't agree more. Making a relationship with your customers can have a huge impact on your business. Making your valued customers know that their business is appreciated can be as simple as sending them a thank you note, sending out a birthday card, or just giving them some extra care. I liked that this video said that advertising and marketing isn't always the best approach because I believe that if a business is ran by the right team of people then word of mouth will be enough to make the business succeed.

Creating and maintaining a strong customer base is critical to the success of any business. I personally think that relationship marketing is one of the most important aspects and strategies of marketing. You can market a product every day of the week, but if you are not taking the time to understand your customer's needs and feelings, your product will not necessarily be desirable, because your customers may not be convinced that it fulfills a need that they have within their life. By ensuring that you maintain a strong relationship with your customers and continually show interest in their lives, your business becomes more than a simple product. It becomes a place of comfort and trust, where customers can come, and be trusting that they will receive true opinions, true advice, and be treated with true value. People want to feel valued. By making our customers feel important, we can ensure that they will return regularly.

One fact about marketing that I’ve always believed to be very true is that word of mouth is the most effective tool a marketer can use. Using other advertising like social media and magazine ads might get customers in the door. However, it’s those little touches that keep people coming back. By showing a customer that you care for them and that they are important to you will help spread the word about your business. Personally, hearing something good about a store from a review or from a friend will make me more likely to go there. I think the system the owner is using is very effective, not just for her business but for all businesses.

This video is the heart beat of marketing. Building relationship is the key in any line of business. Particular in sales/retail this is key at retaining customers. I like how they use non traditional marketing like flowers or cards.

It seems all of the American Express videos happen to have the same moral of the story, which is build a relationship with your customers and/or community. Just like the woman in the video stated no matter how many magazines books you read there is never a foolproof way grow a customer base. All communities are different and will be attracted by different things, it will many times ultimately come down to trial and error and there is no way around that. It is important to just stay strong and continue to go in the best direction possible with all decisions?

In certain instances relationship marketing is a great tool. However, that all depends on the size of the company. That seems key to small business owners. A company such as Walmart, well, this type of marketing wouldn't necessarily benefit the company because they sell a variety of products. Therefore, newspaper and digital media are preferred in order to reach new or current customers. Honestly, I would not want a small business or boutique calling me. To me, it seems desperate.

Building a relationship with your customers always makes them feel as if they are loved and appreciated for they're business with you. Even if its not a committed relationship as long as your reaching out to the customers and trying to understand there personal life if they bring it up and trying to understand the customer outside of just business, by sending a business card or gift card, people like to feel special and by doing that they can. When a customer walks in to your restaurant and you remember there order and there name then the next time they walk in you have there order ready and greet them with there name. This sort of marketing is truthful. In my opinion, I trust my friends and family telling me their favorite stores rather than seeing a television advertisement about some store claiming to be something they are or something their not. Key factor in building a clientele.
