I agree that management should make themselves avaliable to their employees. A lot of managers and supervisors go into their office and expect their employees to go to them. If managers would make themselves more avaliable to actually help their employees, everyone would be on the same page.

It is important for leaders to be there for their employees and help guide them in any way they can. They should stay involved and not only dictate to employees what to do. Employees appreciate it when leaders help out and make things easier.

I'm liking what he's getting at. It's very important for a leader to be someone who works hard to help his employees out. With great power comes great responsibility, and being in a powerful position shouldn't go to waste. I naturally try to help people when I can because I know if I can I should. Maybe I should work on how much I do this though, as Peters suggests. I think the important thing to remember here is that doing so would ultimately help me. Helping others to create a smooth work flow could be simpler than most imagine.

I always enjoy videos by this speaker. I like how he makes you ask yourself at the beginning what you have done that is directly serving your employees. Often people think they are servant leaders, but they are not actually serving those under them. Dont just look at what youve done in the last day, but also in the last week and the last month. I like how he compares being of service just like a mechanic in a car dealership.

This was a decent video. The speaker made a good comparison between a manager and a servant. Managers are like servants to the company, they are there to promote working in unison and tranquility. They work to put out fires and divert their staff from too many hurdles. If there is an easier way to do something that is just as effective, or more effective, managers are there to ensure that it happens.

Leadership can be a very tricky thing. Leaders want employees to like them but they don't want to appear "soft." However, leaders need to be able to relate to employees under them so they can understand what type of work the employee is having to complete. Without understanding, communication is difficult. It is possible to be a respected leader while still being fair.

I think it’s definitely important as a leader to be of service to your employees. Even if it’s only one task, employees will be grateful to not have to deal with one extra thing. I think it keeps the workflow running smoothly and creates a unity between employees.

Servant Leadership, i feel as though this is the true leader. Serving others when you donot have too and when you do not need any recognition you help because you want to.

Oh Jesus, you're killing me Wyld! I think I already saw this video... And in fact...I refuse to respond. This guy is my least favorite speaker in the entire world. He didn't say anything of importance in this video. All I hear is blah blah blah. And in the last 24 hours I've been at home and school, so no, I haven't done anything Mr. Burgundy man.

I think the best type of leader is a servant leader. A servant leader is one that does not simply give out orders and delegates. A servant leader is someone who leads by example, including asking their employees how can they help them, what can they do to help get the task accomplished. Sometimes managers think they are too good to actually do work, but what they do not realize is that by offering to help, they are being the best leader that they can be.

This video provides real, practical advice and went beyond just giving a pep talk. The role of managers and leaders has less to do with what they do personally and more to do with how they help others complete tasks more easily. By serving others and allowing them to work more productively, leaders can amplify the amount of work that gets done.

I kind of don't care for any of his videos because of his voice. However he did have a valid point. Always work towards being a leader in your everyday activities. You should have an action that puts you towards the end result which is achieving your goal. Sometimes it may slip your mind, but reevaluate each day is a good thing to do so it can become a habit.

This is a very good question that anyone is leadership should ask themselves. I believe that when people are in leadership roles they sometimes forget what the true objective in regards to leading their staff. It is not only important to make sure the people that report to you are able to meet their objectives, it is also important that the leader be able to contribute to everyone meeting their objectives as well by taking on a servant role.

I am not a boss, but i do have a boss. What does he do for me to remove hurdles? He yells at security guards when they are not being responsive to me.

Managers should think about what they can do in a specific period of time to be a servant leader. This means that they should be of service to others and the company. Being of service is a good way to lead a team because you are leading by showing what the team has to do in order to make the whole company more productive.
