You must have the correct traits in order to be a leader. If you are thrown into a position of leadership but do not have the qualities of a leader, you may get them. But most of the time you will fall flat on your face.

I truly believe that the message of the video is critical for all leaders. Servant leadership can have a dynamic affect on any organization. I think the biggest point with servant leadership is that it's infectious. It is very important for leaders to lead by example and if leaders example of servant leadership then the followers will be too.

This video brought up an interesting point: servant leadership. This is something I have never thought of but definitely agree with the speaker. It is important for managers to make their employees jobs easier, not harder! Mangers can help by clearing a hurdle, making a phone call or just helping with something small. This video reminded me of one of my mangers from work. She is always a nice and caring person who will help you any time you need a helping hand.

Cheap hurdle removal officer. Great. There aren't too many managers who are CHROs. However, at my job, my managers take care of their priorities and sometimes come out there with the associates, grab a piece of equipment they're licensed on and ask, "What you got for me?" That makes us feel great as associates to know that a salaried worker is helping the hourly workers boost their performance numbers and acting as a team member for once. Can't say it happens often, but it does happen.

Being a leader entails so much more then people believe. Of course, a good leader directs their employees in day to day operations, but they need to remember to put themselves in their workers shoes. A leader should not do work for their employees, but establish ways to simplify the work, and ensure their employees happiness while promoting productivity.

As a leader you should look at yourself as a servant. It is all about serving your employees or coworkers in order to accomplish goals or get over hurdles. The guy in the video kept asking what have you done in the last 24 hours to serve others.... and well thinking about that I couldn't really reply. I need to make an initiative everyday as a leader to serve my employees/students to jump over our daily hurdles. I liked this video in how it showed a different perspective.

pretty good video, i like the fact that he says that managers are not meant to be the ones doing the work but the ones facilitating the work. it is vital at times for managers to be able to remove themselves from the ground floor to be able correctly delegate. delegating is huge, but to address what his main point was to be a servant leader, which is rare these days and age. most management will be the ones that want to throw all the problems on the ones under them, but honestly managers should be making their workers' jobs easier not the other way around.

Tom Peters makes a valid point in this video. I really like the reference he made to managers in respect that they are objection removers. I agree with the fact that managers should make it as easy as possible for his employees to achieve the certain task they are set out to do. The challenge is to do something daily that impacts your employees.

I thought this video was interesting. As a leader its your job to put your employees above yourself and help them achieve success in doing so you are in turn helping your business to be successful.

As always, I don't like listening to this guy. He makes a good point about serving your employes but something about the way he says it. It's so condescending. I agree with being a serpent because I believe we were put on this earth to serve others.

We have watched many links on leadership throughout these links, but this video calls upon me to look at myself as a leader. I believe I am actually doing a good job at projecting leadership qualities at my employment. Even though I believe I am doing a good job, I could always strive to be better. I can take on more responsibility at my position that could allow me to be over a few employees. If I have the authority to be over someone then I can really demonstrate my leadership abilities.

I think servant leadership is a decent theory. Mainly doing things to help your employees to better complete their tasks. I think this is a great thing that many employers do not do because they don't thing they should be the ones doing things for their employees. I can certainly see why this kind of leader would be much better to their employers and much more liked in the work place as well.

This video was quite interesting. I agree and like the theme of servant leadership. This type of leadership is one of action and not just talking. I believe that that a successful leader has to be able to show others what to do through action and just give orders. If you can show your employees that you are willing to put in the hard work then they are more likely to respect you and become a productive worker

When you are a leader, or in a leadership role, like a manager, it is so important to be the best leader possible. Being a servant leader is a great way to do that and I totally agree that this is how it should be. Make it easier for your employees to do their best job. That is your job as a manager and leader. It assures and assists in making the business and operations run as smoothly as possible. This will ultimately lead to a more successful business as well as lead to happier employees and a happier work environment.
