many people forget about the back side of the business they are in. In my opinion, it is probably the most important to get right. You can tweak and play around with the correct amount of customer service, but the support structure getting products through the value chain must be done right the first time, there isn't much room for errors that could be extremely costly.

INSTANT MBA: Stop Spending All Your Time On Your Customers
I agree with this article because one of you most important assets in the company is your employee. One need to focus on hiring an employee with the right skills and expertise to run a business or even work at one. If you hire the right people you will not have to worry so much about how the customer is being treated because if the right employee is serving them there should be no problem. I myself am an employee of intergrity and honesty and treat my customers they way I would like to be treated and that is why they like shopping with me. The point is be more selective in your hiring process.

You want to do what your customers want, but you do not want to spend too much time on your customers. Yes, you want to treat them well and with respect so you can have their returning business. Focusing too much on the customer, your employees will start to not respect you. You want them to respect you. You want your employees to feel welcomed just like your customers too. You have to show your employees that you want them and you have to treat them as your customer as well.

It’s not only important to focus on the customer when running a business, but you need to focus on the backbone also. One important thing you have to focus on is hiring the right people who you want to work for you. Employees are the people who customers see and interact with so you have to have an ideal staff.

Even though customers are a valuable asset to a company, A company must realize not to just worry about customers even thou they are the ones who come to buy the product or service. They also have to worry about back employees the pay everything is going around the service that is going on. It must all be taking care of so that you can keep the customer coming back for the service.

Schultz obviously knows his stuff as Starbucks is one of the best coffeehouses around, in my opinion. Their prices are higher than most yet they still have a loyal customer base. He has a great plan in that he puts his employees first and foremost and that, in turn, leads to happy customers and a profitable company. His idea of finding employees who are experts in different areas and hiring these people and allowing them to show and use their talents to help the business prosper, is also one that I've read over and over again in these articles. These authors are all from successful companies so, obviously, their ideas are successful ones.

While businesses stress the importance of customer service, it has the tendency to over shadow other aspects that are crucial for business. It is true that customers are very important to a business, but if they are the sole focus other problem areas can be overlooked. As a business, you have to make sure that you are well rounded in every aspect to make sure that business runs smoothly and according to plan. If you hire employees who are well developed and have the necessary skills the rest of your busines should follow. Hiring these high functioning employees will allow you to focus on the customer service while achieving other goals that are important as well.

Instant MBA: Stop Spending All Of Your Time On Your Customers
This link suggests that it is best to invest in high quality employees. When focusing on customers you may lose your way when trying to get your company to grow. This is very important when the industry is constantly growing and when your company is not keeping up can easily fall behind. Growing your company is more important than customer management, but you have to still give customer service attention.

I think Schultz attitude towards his company is somewhat rational. Every company has their own niche strategy that they use to beat out the competition. Some focus on the customer to generate the best customer satisfaction and others focus on completely different areas. I think you need more of a balance between the two making sure customers are satisfied and ensuring the company is growing. Both sides are equally important for the company to focus on though.

Howard talks about behind the scenes of a company. I think all parts of your company need to be reviewed at certain times. Getting the right people to do the job is always important in being successful in life and business. Getting the right employee that knows his/her field a great deal is a great asset for your company. Having behind the scenes of a company in order usually helps operation in the everyday operations of the business.

INSTANT MBA: Stop Spending All Your Time On Your Customers
It is important to focus on your customers, but I believe it is also important to focus on the backside of your business as well. Focusing too much time on satisfying your customers can lead to a decline in the success of your company's infrastructure. If your infrastructure begins to fall apart, your company will begin to decline and your customers will end up unsatisfied. I think it would be smart for a company to invest in its infrastructure and customers pretty equally.

INSTANT MBA: Stop Spending All Your Time On Your Customers
It is important to properly train your staff. Too many times people are thrown into positions they are not adequately prepared for. The company is focused on getting positions filled so quickly, the person is practically set up for failure. More companies should rethink their business strategies and focus on their employees. They need to make sure that their employees and managers are being taken care of, trained properly, not over worked, and have acceptable working conditions. By investing in these things, it will only improve the work environment.

Instant MBA: Stop Spending All Your Time On Your Customer
Customer satisfaction has become a large part of business as technology has opened the door to more ways for customers to review the company either positively or negatively, which can affect the way other people view the company. This tends to make companies want to focus entirely on customer satisfaction and ignore the company’s internal needs. If this happens for a long period of time, a company could start to see financial troubles, which could lead to the company closing even if the customer satisfaction was high.

INSTANT MBA: Stop Spending All Your Time On Your Customers
This article was a bit confusing to understand since it contradicts previous articles I have read that suggest focusing on customers. What I got from this article is that it is just as important to focus on your business's employees and infrastructure as it is to focus on customers. The procedures and techniques used to produce your business's products and service reflect your success. This article gives managers advice to hire people who are almost over qualified for the position in which you are hiring for. It never hurts to have highly skilled and trained employees working for you. Even though it is essential to focus on behind the scene operations, I feel that customers are the most valuable aspect of going into business and they should always be respected and focused on.
