"How to deal with exhausted employees before they hurt your business"
This is advice the managers at my work need to take. Almost all of the employees are exhausted for a variety of reasons. I've talked with some, even though I'm not a manager, and have found out a few reasons. The main reason from people is that we don't have enough employees to do the tasks we are assigned. The management, however, is only worried about cutting labor costs and expects one employee to do the job of two or more. Talking with exhausted employees is always beneficial to you and to them. You'll learn why they're exhausted, as well as ways to fix the problem.

It truly is important to keep employees motivated on a daily basis, especially in the customer service industry. Tackling the same tasks every day at the workplace can become tiring and mundane. It is times like these where employees lose their passion and motivation. Another good idea as well as what the article suggests, is changing things up at the work place, through either moving things around or doing something to keep the place interesting and allow employees to be continually learning new things about the business.

Diana Tremblay says the first approach into dealing with exhausted employees is to know why they are exhausted. I agree with Diana because by knowing the problem, you may have a solution to the reason why the employee tired. You can either give them a day off with pay instead of them doing lazy work which will not get the job done.

INSTANT MBA: How To Deal With Exhausted Employees Before They Hurt Your Business
This article is especially true with employees who work in customer service. These employee work directly with the public and if they seem uninterested about the product they are selling then customer will be uninterested about buying it. Offering incentives is a great way to motivate even the most exhausted employee. Identify with what the employee enjoys and offer it to him if he hits a certain quota.

INSTANT MBA: How To Deal With Exhausted Employees Before They Hurt Your Business
You never want to exhaust your employees. You want to make sure they have enough breaks and are well rested. If you know that one of your employees have been slacking or seem exhausted you need to confront them and see what the problem is. If you allow your employees to work while they are exhausted they could slack off and just not be as motivated to work.

INSTANT MBA: How To Deal With Exhausted Employees Before They Hurt Your Business
Employees level of enthusiasm can be a huge factor in company performance. If your employees are exhausted or not very excited about work, that will greatly reflect on how they are viewed by customers. A manager should engage in personal conversation with their employees to better understand what is going on thats making them not so excited about work. During this process, the manager should find out what the employee likes, how they can reward the employee for good work, and thy should also explain the employee's importance in the company. Excited employees help customers become excited customers.

INSTANT MBA: How To Deal With Exhausted Employees Before They Hurt Your Business
How employees feel toward their work definitely portrays to customers and their performance. Like Diana suggested, it takes a personal correspondence with team members to find why they may not be satisfied completely or feel like they are burnt out. Recognition for achievements make a big difference in satisfaction. Along with assigning employees to tasks that they enjoy working on, if possible. Managers should be award of how team members feel toward their job. This could be done when evaluations are given or at when a manager is award of a possible issue.

INSTANT MBA: How To Deal With Exhausted Employees Before They Hurt Your Business
This is an interesting perspective because it shows genuine concern for an employee. Employees will respond in a positive manner if their managers show they care about them personally. In many cases, an employee will feel more valued if a manager will just listen to their concerns. It is great to remind an employee of their value and show appreciation. I would stress that the action by the manager should be taken quickly and with sincerity. That can make anyone feel better. A direct effort by leadership to build up their team members will have a great affect on productivity and customer service.

It’s important that every employee know they are value. They need to know they aren’t just there to do the work. They are there to help built the company too. They should also be able to have an input, especially since they are the ones doing most of the work.

Awesome article. This subject really got my attention because it's something that I am going through with myself currently. I have worked at the same place for 2 years. There is no opportunities for growth, and there isn't even a thank you if you do them a favor. There is never a "Good Job!", nothing. It gets really discouraging after a while being the employee that has to ASK for appreciation, and the fact that the employees are the ones that are wanting the better corporate culture is also something I can't seem to get my head around. People get burnt out when they don't feel appreciated, and it's important as a manager to be able to make people feel needed and like their time is valued.
