INSTANT MBA: How To Deal With Exhausted Employees Before They Hurt Your Business
Managers have to find ways to keep their employees motivated to make the company thrive. This article gives its readers good tips to deal with workers who appear to be exhausted, and discovering the reason is the beginning of the process. Managers need to ask and listen their employees carefully; however, they need to make sure that workers know that they can openly speak up without any kind of retaliation. In other words, for employees to be honest about their issues with the job, they need to feel in a safe environment. After understanding the reasons for being exhausted, managers should take corrective actions immediately, so the overall performance of the company does not get affected. I agree that in most cases, employees feel unhappy because their work is not recognized, so it is essential that managers understand the relationship between work performance and recognition to avoid motivation issues with their workers.

INSTANT MBA: How To Deal With Exhausted Employees Before They Hurt Your Business
I think it is definitely important to make sure that your employees are happy. Unhappy employees lead to unhappy customers and an unhappy business as a whole. Managers must make sure that they continue to motivate their employees and that they also acknowledge their employees for what they do. If a manager sees that an employee is obviously exhausted with their job it is their responsibility to find out why and what they can do to help. The article makes a great point about finding out what your employees like to do so you can provide an incentive for them to do it. I think that is a great idea. If you provide an incentive for them to do something that they like to do there is no reason for them to become exhausted which in turn will hurt your business. Managers must then continue to make sure that their employees are passionate about what they are doing and also continue to acknowledge employees and let them know that their inputs are valued.

Instant MBA: How to Deal with Exhausted Employees Before They Hurt Your Business I think that it is very important to stress how important an employee’s job is, and what it means to the company. Workers tend to work better when they know that what they are doing will be appreciated and actually mean something. Finding out a little bit more about your employees as far as what they like and dislike is a stretch, but has to be executed for a good cause. Because comparing their love for their passion and your love for your passion (your business), will help them realize that this is important to you and you need them to work at their best to help the business prosper. Also, rewarding them will drive to work harder and become more knowledgeable towards the company. Managers, leaders and bosses alike need to learn that acknowledging and listening to their workers is a key to success. It is a win-win situation, the leader generates more profit, and the employees know that their inputs are appreciated and valued to the highest standard.

INSTANT MBA: Bring The Blue And White Collar Workers Together
I think this is a great idea. Bring different workers together to learn from each other and build a team approach to the business. Having the front line workers work with the behind the scenes employees, gives each the opportunity to see how each work, this will open eyes to both sides. Giving each a different aspect of the business, will let them better appreciate each other more. This will develop a since of teamwork in the workplace. Giving employees the opportunity to cross train at my office, has allowed for shorter wait times. It gives the front desk workers opportunities to work in another department, a break from the busiest department in our clinic. Plus it helps with the patient flow when the drug testing department gets overloaded. It has allowed for lower employee turnover since we implemented the cross training.

INSTANT MBA: How To Deal With Exhausted Employees Before They Hurt Your Business
I think it is important to find out what is wrong with the exhausted employee in the first place. I know it boils down to the type of management that is over a lower associate. There have been a few bad managers at our company and they have completely exhausted the employees. Quite literally there were times when I just dreaded going to work and doing anything because I would be stuck in a store full of negativity and sarcasm. It even showed in front of the customers, which was why our company had terrible customer service scores below 70%. Lazy, rude and sarcastic managers will give you a bad vibe and a terrible work environment. A manager or leader should always recognize what the associate has done for the day and praised them on it. Since we have a new manager that does this, our scores have gone up and the output from the associates have increased tenfold.

INSTANT MBA: How To Deal With Exhausted Employees Before They Hurt Your Business
I think it's important to deal with exhausted employees quickly so they don't become a negative spot for your business. The main reason that I become exhausted at work is because the workload can sometimes be too much for one person to handle. My managers do help the situation by saying what I must get done and that if I can get anything else done then it's an added bonus. I have a negative attitude when I get exhausted and I'm sure it shows when I come into contact with customers. I don't feel like dealing with anybody and I do my best to not act like a crazy person when I get that way. I never like to leave work that isn't finished but it made me feel better when my manager told me not to worry about it if I didn't get everything done.

INSTANT MBA: How To Deal With Exhausted Employees Before They Hurt Your Business
Having an employee that is exhausted can be just as bad as having an employee who isn't qualified to do the work. They get sloppy with the work they are given and don't put 100% effort. This could set back your business if it isn't fixed. Sometimes people just need to hear a compliment or that their work is important. Nobody likes doing work that isn't appreciated, so as a leader you need to energize your employees.

INSTANT MBA: How To Deal With Exhausted Employees Before They Hurt Your Business
Exhausted employees will do more harm that you thought possible. We currently have one who I need to sit down and talk with. She refuses to do kitchen work, but that is where she is needed. The food leaving the kitchen is not acceptable to be given to customers. It is poorly thrown together. Her closing shifts have not been clean to expectations. She will mouth back to you at any moment in time. Learning and communicating with these people is most important and finding ways to motivate them is a must. If at all possible, I will never let anyone become as unmotivated as she has become.

INSTANT MBA: How To Deal With Exhausted Employees Before They Hurt Your Business
There is nothing worse, as an employee, to feel as though the work that you do is not appreciated and the value of your contribution is minimal. A very important part of management is the fact that you must keep your employees happy, and part of that means to make sure they do not feel unappreciated. I have had experience with this in past occupations in which a large amount of effort reaps no appreciation. A simple thanks and good job can go a long way. If you can’t say those things to your employees, its your job to put them in a position in which you can.

I agree with this article. Employees work hard for their company and sometimes end up exhausted over time. It's the manager's job to see why employees are beginning to become exhausted or unmotivated at work, looking a factors such as, are they working too many hours, do they need time off, are you asking too much from them, is it something in their personal life, is it the working environment? The list could go on and on so managers or owners must take time out to talk to thier employees to come up with a solution to either get them more rest or motivate them to keep working hard.

INSTANT MBA: How To Deal With Exhausted Employees Before They Hurt Your Business
Our General Manager at Raising Canes has exhausted all three of his Shift Managers. He so far has done nothing to re-energize us. We are all overworked and underpaid for our positions. He expects us do to the jobs of our superiors but gives us no credit for it. He allows the crew to disrespect us and does not do anything about it. One of our shift managers has already left to pursue other opportunities, and the two of us that are left are looking as well. If our boss would just appreciate all of the extra work we do, we would likely not be on the verge of quitting. But instead, he does not even seem to realize that he has created a problem.

It is important as a leader to make sure that your employees do not get burnt out or feel as if there work is not valued. It is important to keep a positive work environment where your employees are given praise for the work that they have done. You should also create a work environment that is positive and open to discussion between the leader and employees. This will allow for open lines of communication. When there are open lines of communication employees are more likely to not feel exhausted.

INSTANT MBA: How To Deal With Exhausted Employees Before They Hurt Your Business
It is very important to recognize when your employees are showing signs of exhaustion. You do not want to allow this exhaustion to go until if impacts the employees performance. If an employee is allowed to continue until they are exhausted, this will impact how they work with others as well as all other aspects of their work performance.
