INSTANT MBA: Fire Yourself If Someone Else Can Do It Better Than You
This article makes a very good point. As a leader you should always act in a way that will help your company grow and succeed. There may be chances when somebody else can do a job better than you. He may have the expertise or the skill that complements with the job , and hence does it better. In this situation, you as a leader should think strategically and let the person take in charge of the job. Some leaders are too unwilling to lose control and end up sticking to the job even if they are not as efficient and effective as the other person.

INSTANT MBA: Fire Yourself If Someone Else Can Do It Better Than You
Effective leadership involves delegation. A true leader can recognize the strengths of team members and allow them to do a job they are good at. Conversely, leaders can recognize a weakness in a person, even if that includes himself. Leadership involves the strategic vision and growth of a company, not just day to day task. If a person is stuck doing a job that refocuses the overall mission, then they robbing themselves of leadership opportunities as well as robbing the employee of performing the job they are there to do.

When running a business always have someone you trust to help you out. You need someone who can help manage just as well as you. That way, you can focus on growing the company. You don’t want to be stuck in one place forever. You need to keep everything balanced.

INSTANT MBA: Fire Yourself If Someone Else Can Do It Better Than You
Why would you want to do a task that you know someone else could handle better? It is because you don't like to give up control of anything. I am like that sometimes; I think that when it comes to certain tasks that no one can get the job done better than I can. But as I have gotten older, I realize that that's just not the case. Sometimes it is better to delegate tasks so that you can get more important things done. No one person can do everything by themselves. Sometimes, you have to be willing to ask for help.

I agree with this article, that leaders of the company should delegate certain tasks to employees so they can focus on growth and management. It can be hard for people to accept that they need to stand back and trust others to get their job done when they know they could do it themselves, but for a leader to get their work done, they need to have others do theirs.

Firing yourself and allowing someone else to step in isn't always a bad thing. If you're not good in a certain area, enable someone to step in to help rather than letting your business suffer. It may feel as if you're not good enough but, everyone has his or her strengths and weaknesses. Find what you are comfortable and strong enough to handle so, it doesn't feel like work. Strategically integrate new members in who have experience in areas that you lack. Everyone needs help sometimes.

I completely agree that if one cannot do a specific task better than someone else, they should step down from the throne and give that task/duty to someone else. They need to have the company's best interest in mind before themselves. It would be selfish to not let the company prevail to the next level.

INSTANT MBA: Fire Yourself If Someone Else Can Do it Better Than You
This is article is not expressed as harsh as the title sounds. It mainly shows that sometimes leaders try and do too much for a company. They trying and get their hands on as many jobs as possible whenever they don't realize that just running the company is a lot of work much less trying to do all sorts of different jobs inside of the company. Leaders have a hard time stepping back and just running the company. Most leaders only trust themselves to do certain jobs, so they put all of this pressure of themselves and normally don't perform the task as well as it should be. The best thing a leader should do is stick to running the company and assigning all the other task to others who can strictly focus on that job.

This link is about delegation. I agree with this link in that delegation is important for a leader to lead. If the CEO gets caught up in the everyday duties of a business he can lose perspective because he’s too focused on the problem ahead instead of the big picture.

INSTANT MBA: Fire Yourself If Someone Else Can Do It Better Than You
This article is written by a true leader and a very humble person. Humility is an important trait for leaders to have and when you can recognize that someone else may be better suited to take on a task; you must let them handle it. Leaders are more effective when they can use peoples strengths for the benefit of everyone instead of taking on work that they might not be best suited to. It may be tough for a leader to admit one of his employees are better that them at something, but it probably would gain respect with that person and create a better relationship.

INSTANT MBA: Fire Yourself If Someone Else Can Do It Better Than You
No one enjoys firing their employees, but a good leader does it with dignity when necessary. When firing someone you have to be sensitive to their feelings because some people are on the verge of losing everything. Many people these days are living from paycheck-to-paycheck so losing one paycheck can be the difference between living in a home or being homeless. So, you have to be mindful of all of these things.

INSTANT MBA: Fire Yourself If Someone Else Can Do It Better Than You
I agree with the article, dont go firing someone else, you should check yourself and see what you can do better to improve the company. Managers should check themselves before blaming employees about there problems. Managers should spend more time redirecting there own personal image on the job and find ways to developing there skills and abilities while at work.

INSTANT MBA: Fire Yourself If Someone Else Can Do It Better Than You
I agree with the article to a certain extent. If you truly care about the company you want the best person for the job in the position. I feel that this is especially important in a position at a company you have a stake in.

Holtzclaw gives us the perfect example of being a selfless individual who throws their pride out of the window. For one to “fire themselves” when they witness that someone else can do that particular job better in order to advance the company, you are the personification of the word “altruism.” I can parallel this to the movie entitled: “Remember the Titans.” In the final scene of the movie, a defensive back for the Titans gave up his position to a player that was suspended by a coach because he knew that the suspended player was better at it. He was not thinking about himself gaining all of the glory from being on the field, but rather what would be better for the team. His team eventually won the championship partially due to his decision.
