Eric Holtzclaw says, "Fire yourself today by simply identifying something that you are doing that could be done better by someone else. Enjoy greater efficiency and effectiveness. Focus on what your company needs you to do: strategic direction and vision. Repeat!" I had to reread this quote about three times lol but I get it. Eric is saying if there is someone that can to your job better to make your company better, you should fire yourself and hire that person and I agree with that. You in business to make the most profit and if that mean firing yourself, you should.

This article makes a good point that most CEOs probably never think to do. Fire themselves from a task. Often times leaders don't want to give up control, but if something they are doing is blocking the company's success, they need to. Leaders should delegate certain tasks to their employees and focus solely on the growth of the company. In "firing" yourself, you are simply identifying something that you are doing that could be done better by someone else. You will have greater efficiency and effectiveness by focusing on what your company needs you to do.

Sometimes, it is best to give up control. If you have several tasks you need to complete, it can be difficult to do them all the best way possible. We may have to give that job to someone else who can see the task more clearly and who is better suited for it. You should allow others to take control of certain tasks if they are better at it.

Instant MBA: Fire Yourself If Someone Else Can Do It Better Than You Sometimes Its better to take yourself out of a situation that your not helping. People don’t realize when they are getting in the way of things sometimes. Some workers shop about their job. They lack motive and preservation so their work ethic lacks. Sometimes they need to realize that and take themselves out of the work area verses getting fired.

INSTANT MBA: Fire Yourself If Someone Else Can Do It Better Than You This is a difficult thing to do, but i to believe that it is the right thing to do " fire yourself if someone else can do better" as a good manager you need to be example for other employees by being example and showing responsibility for what you do. Showing example means telling people what to do and doing your job effectively. Employees respect you as a manager if if you fire employees because they are not doing their work and you can as well fire your self if you are not doing your work it shows honest and trust that as a manager you are not using discrimination when you treat everyone including yourself equal.

INSTANT MBA: Fire Yourself If Someone Else Can Do It Better Than You.
Sometimes leaders get so caught up in making sure the business is successful, they start to take on daily rolls that are not theirs. They start to do the day to day activities that they should leave to someone else. While consuming themselves with these day to day activities, they forget to do their most important job. They forget to make sure the company is growing. They forget to worry about the direction the company is going. They lose sight of the vision of the company. Instead they should find someone who can do these day to day activities and do them well. This leaves time for them to focus on the company as a whole.

INSTANT MBA: Fire Yourself If Someone Else Can Do It Better Than You
It is important not to be blinded by pride and know when someone else can complete a task more proficiently than yourself. Leaders have this problem and do not realize it until it is too late. Leaders need to recognize that their task is more vision and direction oriented and need to let others take the reigns on some projects even if they are important.

INSTANT MBA: Fire Yourself If Someone Else Can Do It Better Than You
If you are a manager or a business owner than you should focus on just the growth of your business and let the rest be done by others. Sometimes when managers are overly involved in every department of their company, they lack the ability to manage and oversee the growth of their business like a normal manager should. If you can find someone to take on some of the responsibilities and do it just as well if not better than you, than by all means. Task such as bookkeeping, inventory control, answering phone calls, responding to emails, maintenance and clerical duties can all be delegated to employees rather than a manager worrying about these things. A successful business is never usually a one man show, so to speak.

INSTANT MBA: Fire Yourself If Someone Else Can Do It Better Than You
This was a very good article that all business owners should read and than think on how they are leading the company. If managers really care about the growth of the business then they would step aside and let someone who is better than them at certain task take control of those tasks. Nobody does everything the best so when you can find someone who has an edge in a certain area, you should allow them to take control of it. I believe alot of business fail because the leaders are caught up in the business and not on the business.

INSTANT MBA: Fire Yourself If Someone Else Can Do It Better Than You
Holtzclaw is right when he says owners should delegate tasks to employees and focus on the growth of the business. No one else is responsible for growing the company except those in top management. Those tasks can not be handed down, so it would make sense to hand down all other tasks in order to focus on the important ones. If someone can do a task better than you, let them do it and possibly keep in touch with the process to learn from them.

As a leader of a company who built the company on their ideas and dreams and invested a lot of time and money into making it successful, I'm sure it's hard to delegate tasks they feel like they can handle themselves. One person can't carry all the tasks of a company on their own shoulders, that's why building a team of managers and employees is so important. The leader of a company needs to focus on finding trustworthy managers and employees that he or she feels comfortable handling tasks for the company, no matter how big or small. To be efficient, effective, and conscious of not burning out, it is highly important to have a great team built up and being comfortable handling issues with their help.

"Fire yourself if someone else can do it better than you"
I love this article. It shows that managers don't need to be doing the actually "grunt" work. They need to be delegating certain tasks to individuals, and how they need to look at the bigger picture for a company. I've had plenty of difficulties stepping back as a manager at a previous job because I wanted to make sure the task was done right. It maked more sense for me to back off of that task, train someone properly on how to do it, and work on developing other employees so I can focus on directing the day to day activities.

INSTANT MBA: Fire Yourself If Someone Else Can Do It Better Than You One need to fire yourself in a company if they cannot manage or no further able to operate the activities that they're are supposed to be able to handle. In a way you are not firing yourself but you are hiring other people to do the things that you are not good at or maybe cheaper through another source. It is easer and usually more efficient if you delegate your activities and the thing that are important and cost to be properly handled with good quality and no errors and constant supervision through different departments in the company. One can learn from this that in order for ones company to survive they have to be willing to let other people help you and hire them at a position that your in whether you like it or not.

INSTANT MBA: Fire Yourself If Someone Else Can Do It Better Than You
The leader of a company may not always be the best leader at any given time. A leader should recognize when someone else could better benefit the company in his place and then allow that person to take the place as the leader. This practice will show that you are willing to put your company before yourself. Instead of trying to deal with the things others could do better, you should focus on the future growth and ideas for your company.

INSTANT MBA: Fire Yourself If Someone Else Can Do It Better Than You
If you can't do the job better someone else then hire them to do the job for you. They can maybe teach you a thing or two and then help you progress yourself. You should always put fourth 150% and if you can't do that then you might as well quit. I believe in hard work and you will get what you put into it. Don't just play around but really work hard when you're working.
