Talent is not only identifying the problem but also solving it. It is great to have these type of people in your workforce because there are so many people who can identify the problem but that isn't always enough. Talent is very obvious in someone.

Umm...what? Her 30 second MBA sucked. She basically said that there is always someone to blame and that it's important to "nurture" the people that can figure out who it is. What kind of crock is that?

I agree. It is one thing to be able to identify the problem and another thing to solve it. I will remember when I build my next team. It can take more than one person to come up with the right solution to a problem.

As a manager or business owner, it is important to surround yourself with people who are able to identify and solve problems for your company. These employees are the best to nurture because they have the potential to grow into successful leaders. It is also an asset if they can bring other employees together because a company can only be successful if everyone is on the same page. These employees will help the company grow.

So, basically, find a leader who can effectively lead a team into fixing problems and making solutions. One of the biggest challenges is engagement and employee empowerment. Present a group with a problem and allow them the freedom to find a solution. Then take those who fixed it, and continue to present them with challenges. With these, you can help find your best talents and leaders, while also correcting problems around the workplace. It is one thing to be talented. It is another thing entirely to actually be willing to step up and present solutions to those challenges. When you find someone who can correct the problems and suggest improvements, keep them and nurture them. They are your leaders.

I like this video. i agree that when a company is searching for new talent, it is important to find people who cannot only find problems but also solve them. It is easy to find someone who can locate problems, I think anyone can do that. But, if someone can solve the problem, or at least team up with people who can solve the problem, those are the people whose talent you want to retain and nurture.

This video certainly provides good suggestions for how to find and retain good employees. It starts by looking for qualities in new hires that will make for good employees. Being able to have an impact on those around you is important. It is not enough to be able to solve problems on your own. Being able to teach others and pass on knowledge leads to greater success.

Keep people who know how to fix the problem is what I got out of this. Bringing other people with them when solving the problem are the people you need to try to keep. I wish she would have went into detail on how to keep them instead of just saying who to keep. Also, she could have went into more detail on who the people are that the bring with them when solving the problem also. I think the topic was good and I know it was only 30 seconds, but that type of topic can be broken down into so many parts which I would like to see instead of just the "Who".

I agree with this video, that it is very important to nurture your employees. If they are productive employees with great potential, it is in the best interest of the company to continue to provide them with the skills to succeed.

She talking about how to find natural leaders. It is a skill to start a project on your own and convince other people to help you just because. Its making them find the importance in a task you started. This can be done with a commanding voice, or with my favorite a good track record and trust of your co workers.

Finding someone who is a problem solver is very difficult considering there aren't many out there. so finding one will be harmony to your workplace because they know exactly what to do in situations or problems that arise.

A good way to retain and nurture talent is by looking around and paying attention to what is happening in the workplace. It is good to find people who can identify problems and solve them by bringing other people up, instead of putting them down. This is a good thing to keep in mind as a manager. If the manager can find people who can solve problems, and give them specific problems to solve, then the workplace is better off.

The speaker in the video was totally correct. I would think that the people she was speaking about are probably your charismatic, extroverts but can also be anyone within your organization. At my current position, there is someone doing that very thing right now. We are about to start a new competition and with that comes a type of logistical accounting measure needed. One employee, a very mathematical introvert has taken the time to create a system to record all the data and be able to organize it in a logical way. If management would not have allowed her to do so, the competition may not have ever started.

Go getter come to my mine when i think of how to retain and nurture employees in a organizations. It is the go getter who get things done and who encourage and push in a good way the others within the organizations. They are not afraid to help or give support. Yes, you might think to much, but if you handle the getter correctly you and your organizations with be fine.
