Students, Please view and comment on this link of the day - yes, for your education, but also for the points, of course! Watch the video below: TITLE - Lane Bess: What do you do when you don't know what to do?Then, post a comment in reply to this discussion thread. Again, what to post? Here are some ideas: + What did you take away from the video? + How does the video relate in some way to your past experience (work, as a consumer, family, school, etc.)? + How might you use these ideas in your own career? Good luck! David

In the workplace its okay not to know because nobody is perfect and has all the answers. He basically saying in this video that when you dont know try to get a team together and try to get an answer as soon as possible. You might not know as a manager but I bet you someone else working around you external might know the answer. As a person you are not going to know every question and that's okay.

Bess covers a important trait that managers should have but often do not, humility. It is important for a manager to be able to say when he or she can not do something or just admitting they may be wrong. It is also equally important to be able to delegate those task that you can't do to those who can do it! Many leaders or managers think that they should always keep the upper hand and not show weakness, but sometimes when you appear more real and human to your employees they may actually work better for you.

Lane Bess: What do you do when you don't know what to do?
This video discusses the importance of surrounding one's self with a positive and informative team in order to accomplish unknown tasks. There is a quote from a famous person in history that says "every man I meet is somehow superior to myself, and in that way I learn from him". It is important to not always have a bias that one person is superior or will always have answer, and it is vital to always have a person or two to give a perspective.

Lane Bess: What do you do when you don't know what to do?
This video discusses the importance of knowing when you really don't know the answers and going to someone for help. In today's world, knowledge is everywhere and most everyone is willing to help. Coworkers, CEO's, CFO's, managers, are all there to help you. Don't be afraid to ask questions if you really need to.

Lane Bess: What do you do when you don't know what to do?
Sometimes leading a company well means knowing when to ask questions when needed. Not everyone is always going to know the best answer to a problem or a question. Like Bess said, getting the team together to discuss the issue and work together to find the best answer or possible outcomes is always a good idea.

I agree with this video, when you have no clue on what to do in a situation, ask questions. If you are in the position to have people that work with or around you, then ask them, brainstorm with the group of people there and see what you come up with. If that doesn't work, I think history will definitely help with coming up with solutions to problems. I'm sure some business somewhere at some point in the past ran into similar or the same problems that current business go through today, furthermore, the use of the internet gives you answers at the click of a mouse. Being able to use these two tools should give a business and the people who work for it an edge to solve the problem.

Lane Bess: What do you do when you don't know what to do?
Sometimes you dont know the answer, we are humans and cannot solve every issue alone. That is why as CEO, you work with many other people and you should be able to put a team together to solve the problem. If your company is still not able to solve the problem, you should consult with other people externally who will able to see a different view of your company. As an employee is also important to ask questions when you do not know what to do, managers with their experience and knowledge should be able to help out.

What to do when you don't know what to do? A great team of employees is always needed. CEO sets the guidelines but really great employees actually tell the CEO what the consumer wants. CEOs are the people who take the fall if it doesn't work out. Its the employees who are doing the research that tells the CEO what to promote or sell.

What do you do when you don't know what to do tells the viewer the CEO's dont always know everything. You must know when you don't know what the answer is. It is important for them to also get help from their team about subjects that they might not know as well. I feel that this video has a lot of truth in it. i know personally I might have good ideas, but when i team up with other all of our idea can be expand upon to make a great solution.

Lane Bess: What do you do when you don't know what to do? Richard Branson said that one of the most important business decisions to make is to surround yourself with people smarter than you. So it is okay to not always know the answer, but you should still dedicate yourself to finding it by asking questions and doing research.

TITLE - Lane Bess: What do you do when you don't know what to do?
I think the speaker in this video gave a very generic based, CEO defined answer on what you should do when you don't know what to do. I've heard the CEO of the organization I work for say the exact same thing. One thing that is certain is if you do not know what to do or what direction to take, seek guidance. If I do not know what to do in a situation, I pray about it, ask my parents for advice (trusted advisors), and hope for the best and use my best judgement.

It is important to know when you do not know what the answer is to something or how to handle something. It is important for CEO's to get help from their team about something that they may not know. I know that sometimes I might have a good idea but when I'm on a team with other people the idea can expand and become something that I may not have thought of and it could lead to a great solution.
