INSTANT MBA: Richard Branson: 'Building A Business Is Like Painting A Picture'
Business just like painting involves a lot of planning and thinking. Of course before you begin the business you have to plan the location, the capital, how many customer you are determine to focus. If the painter does not plan well on colors etc then the final picture will not look attractive and people may not like it, like business if it does not have a well strategic it is not going to prosper. It also involves talking people lives because for somebody to buy your stuff that people must like or have a good reason to buy.

Link #23 Instant MBA Building a Business is like painting a Picture
I like this idea by Richard Branson. If you try to stop up and run a business with the
attitude I will deal with that when it comes up you have a problem. I painter plans
ahead and know what he/she is looking to accomplish before they even pick up
the brush. You need to know what you want the business to look like and how it is
going to run before you buy land or a building and defiantly before you open. It can
also be compared to a grand champion chess player. He already knows his move 3
or 4 moves in advance. He is not waiting for the other person to make him make a
decision. He has already made the decision, and is just waiting to put it into action.
Be proactive not reactive.

Instant MBA: Richard Branson 'Building a Business Is Like Painting a Picture'
When building a business from the ground up, it is very important to plan it out first. When projects are sloppily put together they almost never go well. I believe that this is the same for startup companies. You have to get the correct people and concepts together in order to make the business work. When everything is put together correctly and you have taken the time to sit down and think about your concepts and exactly what you want your business to accomplish then the business will most likely succeed.

INSTANT MBA: Richard Branson: 'Building A Business Is Like Painting A Picture'
This article discusses the concept of how a business operation should be orchestrated. I agree with the analogy that Richard Branson proposes. No artist can begin a work of art without a knowledge of what the finished product should look like. Similarly in business no one start a business without a clear objective of what they want to accomplish other than bottom line figures. A great artist has his or her own process for success, so shouldn't every business owner model their business plan in the same manner.

I feel like it takes more than just treating a business like a painting. People who own a business pay for people to paint, in the mean time they have to make decisions on where the company goes while wanting for ideas. They can't be the ones trying to come up with amazing ideas while managing every aspect of the company at the same time. People use money to hire people who have big ideas, the company invests time and money into it and reap benefits if the idea becomes fruitful. There is a process to coming up with an idea, however, if that is all they are worried about then nothing will get done until the next breakthrough. I believe that slow and steady in the business world will get you losing to your competition who think faster than you do. If something isn't right after this maticulous scrutiny of an idea goes public, then what, more planning? Get an idea together, run with it, then fix it if need be.

Instant MBA: Richard Branson 'Building a Business Is Like Painting a Picture
This article is right on point because in order to do most things in life, you have to have a plan. Although sometimes the artist that is painting the picture doesn't have a clear plan as to what they want to do it somehow all comes together in the end. I believe that it is the same way with starting a business. Even though the proprietor might not exactly know how to go about opening his business, if he gets the right tools together and the right people together that want the same thing that he wants then the business will most likely go smoothly.

When developing a business, you must have a clear vision as to what you want, how you’re going to get it, what will it take to achieve it, and how will others perceive it. In the past, I’ve seen how having no direction and the wrong staff could hurt a business. For example, while working in the school system I noticed how you could have most of the staff on one accord, the manager with her own agenda, and another staff member, who refused to do what was asked of her. Ultimately, the school itself suffered because the manager wouldn’t put her foot down and get everyone on the same page. Painting the perfect picture takes tweaking and dedication to predict the overall look of the painting as a whole. In the future, I hope to find employees, who share the same vision and passion as I. I hope to be directive as well as a supportive leader.

Entrepreneurs should act as an artist when it comes down to a business. You need inspiration to think of an idea, and a vision to see where you’re going and where you would like to be. You can’t be sure the end result will be perfect, but you can try. Practice makes perfect.

INSTANT MBA: Richard Branson: 'Building A Business Is Like Painting A Picture'
I agree with the author of this article. Anything successful cannot simply come from greed. It should come from the passion of impacting people's lives and being of benefit to the consumer or community. Without this aspect, your business will not appeal to most people, and your efforts will unlikely be profitable.

Instant MBA: Richard Branson 'Building a Business Is Like Painting a Picture'
Many people think businesses sole purpose is to just generate profits but Richard Branson believes business should be making a radical difference in people's lives. Branson compares business to a an artist painting a picture and how both are time consuming and a delicate art. The comparison between each paint brush stroke and each decision you make provides a great representation of how business is an art.

Instant MBA: Richard Branson ‘Building a Business Is Like Painting a Picture’
Starting a business is not something you can throw together. Like the article says you have to get all the necessary tools in order to start one. I like how the article compares starting a business like starting a painting. It makes you think about all the preparation you have to do to start a business.

Most peoples mindset when opening a business is to make money. While this is a good reason it shouldn’t be the only reason. This link talks about impacting people. If you don;t strive to make a difference in peoples lives you will never truly be happy. The reason is because if people don’t think you care about them they won’t come back.

In a sense your business is your canvas. It is a blank slate that you can do what you want with. You can make the rules and the plan- you and you alone know what you want your business to look like. Making it a blank canvas for you to make your business what you want and have planned for. An artist is similar, they know what they want the painting to look like and make every choice for that painting on their blank canvas. Making your business your own and what you want can help you to succeed.
