Instant MBA:Richard Bradson:Building a business is like painting a picture
This link talks about how it is important to put your all in to your business. When starting something it is important to put your heart and soul into it as if it was a painting. Once your inspiration is found and is focused upon your company can reach the sky. A company is also apart of its creator and that should mean allot to the creator.

Instant MBA: Richard Branson 'Building a Business Is Like Painting a Picture'
This article compares business to a painting a picture. When painting a picture you must paint all the little details and make everything come together. The article says that running a business should be the same. Businesses should fill in all the details and make sure everything is perfect and then bring everything together. I believe that the analogy, although confusing and maybe not the best analogy possible, it correct. Businesses should make sure that all the little details within the company are perfect and run smoothly. As a result, the company as a whole will run smoothly.

Instant MBA: Richard Branson ‘Building a Business Is Like Painting a Picture’
This article by Richard Branson reflects how a company is similar to a piece of art. When starting a company, the entrepreneur has a vision of how he wants his company to run. What type of business? How would you get attract consumers? What are the prices and business strategies? This all correlates into a company like, Virgin Group. A painter has a vision. He or she creates layers of colors and the masterpiece becomes a painting.

Instant MBA: Richard Branson 'Building a Business Is Like Painting a Picture'
I agree and disagree with this article. An artists, like say an entrepreneur, absolutely needs to have every essential tool and a specific plan, but you cannot plan for the unexpected. Some of the greatest works of art started out going in a completely different direction. While you may have a plan in place, do not fear going another way with it because the other way might be the best way.

I like the analogy Branson gives in comparing building a business to painting a picture. I definitly see the simliarities. When creating your busines you are starting with a blank canvas and you want to make sure you have all the necessary components to "paint" the final picture. You have to make sure that you are aware of all the little details that go into your business. Just like all of the little details are necessary to a painting. It would be an unfinished product if you did not incorporate every aspect you could.

INSTANT MBA: Richard Branson: 'Building A Business Is Like Painting A Picture'
I like the statement Branson makes that there is no point into going into a business unless you are planning to make a difference in people's lives. He is basically saying that, just like a beautiful picture of art, a business is something that should be revered and desired. All the pieces have to be in place- the best mission and goals, the best employees, the best leadership, the best plans and processes- to creating a thriving business that will attract clients and customers. I believe one of the main reasons some businesses fail is its leaders did not grasp this concept. They did not create a 'work of art' when they created their business. Instead, they may have used the 'paint by number' idea, thinking that details will come together day by day.

It is difficult to create an art piece without the right tools. It can be possible, but sure does make things a lot more complicated when the tool you are using isn't the right fit. This article says that this idea applies to the business world. You must have a plan and have the right people (tools) for your company to run efficiently. It takes planning and time.

INSTANT MBA: Richard Branson: 'Building A Business Is Like Painting A Picture'
What a great analogy. There are multiple variables and factors to planning a business and entrepreneurs must envision the big picture along with the small details before starting the business. I found it interesting how Richard said there is no point in going into business unless you can make a radical difference on other people's lives. I interpret this comment as the entrepreneur's thought process has to incorporate what the customer may desire and provide a means.

Richard Branson uniquely describes how building a business is like painting a picture. An analogy I would not have personally thought of, but it does make sense. Once you start putting plans in motion towards starting a business you are not just going to rush into building the company. It is a process that takes time and if you hastily form a business without analyzing each and every detail it could lead to the collapse of your business. If I was to have my own personal company my approach to getting started would be the same as Branson's way of thinking.

INSTANT MBA: Richard Branson: 'Building A Business Is Like Painting A Picture'
I love the simile of a painter to a business owner because it's so true. Jumping right into a business can be harmful in the end to a potential business owner. Taking it slow, having a vision, and then slowly putting it into a reality can make the perfect business no matter how well written a business plan is or how much money is invested.

INSTANT MBA: Richard Branson: 'Building A Business Is Like Painting A Picture'
This article is about comparing a business to painting a picture. Although running a business has many more factors that you can not control, it is partially true. If you want to start up a business you have make sure every detail is how you want it to be and all of those single details have to form the big picture. Ideally for a business, it is to make a radical difference in people's lives, but sometimes not all business perform that way.

Instant MBA: Richard Branson 'Building a Business Is Like Painting a Picture'
I think the article has some good points. I do believe that it takes great ideas and great planning to make something great, but is anything in the world even close to perfect. Is having everything right and run smoothly even possible anymore. I do agree that before starting a business, there should be a goal, a vision, and huge amounts of planning, but that doesn't mean things will run smoothly. After the planning is done, I think entrepreneurs have to realize that things may not go as planned and that's okay.

INSTANT MBA: Richard Branson: 'Building A Business Is Like Painting A Picture'
Branson explains the similarity between an artist and an entrepreneur is that they both should make every decision count. While an artist already takes careful calculations with every stroke, an entrepreneur should be making every decision as important as ever stroke of a brush. Making every decision with extreme calculation for a business will increase the odds of the business doing well. Rather than just taking time with some future decisions, I will focus on how each decisions will effect the next and how to best choose each of those decisions.

I really liked this article because it talked about being very precise about your business and I am a very detail-oriented person. The line that stuck out to me the most was when he used the example of artists. He said, "They take their time with each brush stroke, ensuring that the end result is as close to perfection as possible." This is how you should treat your own business with the same delicacy. Artists make sure every little shade is perfect to create the perfect painting and that's exactly what business owners should do with their company.

Getting a business started and making it work is an art. Each and every step must be carefully planned and executed when it comes to setting up a business.
