INSTANT MBA: Richard Branson: 'Building A Business Is Like Painting A Picture'
Planning is the most important stage of creating a business. To succeed in a venture, we have to determine the purpose of the business and how exactly it would operate in today's economy. The article gives a good example by comparing the process of creating a company with the process of creating a painting. Entrepreneurs must be careful when designing "the sketch" of their business, and every detail must be meticulously planned. Some firms fail because their owners neglected to picture the business idea before going into business, so patience and planning are critical elements to make a business opportunity thrive.

Instant MBA: Richard Branson ‘Building a Business Is Like Painting a Picture’ I think this article is was phenomenal. Entrepreneurs SHOULD approach creating a business with the same delicacy as painting a picture. It is better said than done, but if the idea is interpreted correctly then it will be executed the way it should be. I know that creating a business is overwhelming, but if people just take their time with the process things will come out a lot better. Patience is the key. Envision what you want to do before actually going through with it. Analyze every detail before making strenuous decisions. Lastly, making sure that ONLY the best people are hired as employees has to be top priority. If more entrepreneurs take this approach, businesses would be in better shape.

Instant MBA: Richard Branson ‘Building a Business Is Like Painting a Picture’
This article is very informative and interesting. As an individual looks to start up a business, you must carefully plan each aspect of the business much like an artist with a painting. Each element put in place must be carefully planned and understood. This careful planning will help improve the opportunity for success.

INSTANT MBA: Richard Branson: 'Building A Business Is Like Painting A Picture'
I agree with this article 100%. Though I have never thought to compare building a business to painting a picture, it makes a lot of sense. Before starting any type of business you want to make sure that your business has a purpose. You want to make sure you have everything prepared before hand, so that when you begin building this business it doesn't fall apart. Making sure you have all the tools you need before starting is very important. Imagine a painter trying to paint without a brush or paint. I believe this article would be a great read for any new entrepreneur looking to start a business.

INSTANT MBA: Richard Branson: 'Building A Business Is Like Painting A Picture'
I liked the articles analogy of an entrepreneur treating their business the same as an artist with their painting. Someone who truly has a great idea and takes the massive risk of embarking on a business endeavor should insure perfection. Every step in their business should be taken carefully in order to prevent failure. If you take something from an idea and build it from the ground up, you would not want one bad decision or careless mistake destroying it all. I've always thought of treating my business like a child. I would want to nurture it and make the very best decisions in order to insure its well being.

INSTANT MBA: Richard Branson: 'Building A Business Is Like Painting A Picture'
I've never heard someone talk about starting a business like you're painting a picture, but it's an interesting comparison. You need to get all of the prep work completed and make sure each decision is planned out and executed with precision. Like a painter, you must be delicate with each move you make; don't rush into things or be too aggressive. The end result should be nothing short of a masterpiece.

INSTANT MBA: Richard Branson: 'Building A Business Is Like Painting A Picture'
Good article. I think that the author brings up a very good point. If you start a business without everything lined up, it’ll be a lot harder to fix once it is open. Therefore, when starting a business it pays off to do everything right the first time, that way if something does go wrong you’ll be able to concentrate on that as oppose to multiple problems.

INSTANT MBA: Richard Branson: 'Building A Business Is Like Painting A Picture'
When creating a business, you need an idea, a plan, and the tools to carry out that plan. You can't start a business without following this plan. If you don't have an idea then your sunk before you started. If you don't have a plan on how to start and run this business then chances are you won't be in business very long. And finally you need to have the tools to run this business. You need the right location, employees, equipment, etc. to be able to run it effectively and efficiently.

INSTANT MBA: Richard Branson: 'Building A Business Is Like Painting A Picture'
I agree with the article in there has to be a feeling or a general idea on how you are going to build your business. A painting takes time to make, and you have to take care of the painting. This has to be premeditated and it needs to be looked at on all aspects. Building a business needs a clean foundation like a clean piece of paper.

INSTANT MBA: Richard Branson: 'Building A Business Is Like Painting A Picture'
When a person starts a business, they want to make it as perfect as they see fit. They would never want to go into business doing something halfheartedly. They should envision their business in their own minds and then begin ‘painting the picture’. Nothing needs to be taken for granted, and one must envision the success the want.

Instant MBA: Richard Branson ‘Building a Business Is Like Painting a Picture’
While I think it is extremely important to surround yourself in business with people that will compliment your business goals, it is unfair to assume that others cannot learn to be just as efficient. I do not think you should just stick with perfect people because there is no such person out there. People may not always have all the qualities necessary for the job, but sometimes those type of people can be taught to do things the way you want them done. This can be an asset to you as a business owner. Sometimes people with less knowledge are easier to train to your standards.

Instant MBA: Richard Branson 'Building a Business Is Like Painting a Picture'
Starting a business is definitely an art! Every single detail is very important when it comes to making a business. You want the right people, the right tools, you need a vision, a plan, the right technique as well! I like this metaphor because it really puts it into perspective. I think that even just like art, if you mess up, you can learn from it and fix it using a different method, or adding something new to the picture!

Instant MBA: Richard Branson 'Building a Business Is Like Painting a Picture'
I think this article is a skewed a bit because all an artist really needs to complete a painting is the essential tools. Artists do not need a plan of action as to what they are painting, the can paint what they are feeling at that very moment to create masterpiece. Unlike an entrepreneur, he/she needs to first have a business idea and a plan, then decide what tools will be beneficial to the implement the business.
