Instant MBA: The Key To Success Is 'Out-Hustling' Everyone
This article is fantastic and I agree with it one hundred and ten percent. The article states that it is not just about how smart you are or how much you know, but being successful comes from hard work. In order to be successful you must work hard and put your all into what you do. I feel that this article should be read by many graduate and undergraduate students. Many people want instant gratification. They want to be wealthy and successful without putting forth any time or effort, and that just is not the case in this economy. Today, if you want to get ahead in business, you must work hard and put as much effort and passion into your work as possible. People do not respect those that just float by, but they do respect those that set a good example and work hard for what they have.

Instant MBA: The Key To Success Is 'Out-Hustling' Everyone
This article focuses on getting work done and never giving up because you do not want to do something. One also has to learn when to work and when to have some fun time, because if you work too much one could get aggravated and need a break. In order to survive in the business world you have to be working when your competition is sleeping. Whenever one stops working it is hard to get back into motion and have the same strive. This article gives the idea that in order to succeed you have to outwork other people, because loss time could be a loss worth something large.

Instant MBA: The Key To Success Is 'Out-Hustling' Everyone
Mr. Bloomberg has a great advice. One of the most important things for an employee is to have a great attitude towards work and the willing to work and adapt to changes in the business. It is important to have this kind of attitude on any job. As the article states, hard work is infectious. If you everyone at a company is working hard and a new employee comes in they do the minimum just to get by, they are not going to last long in the company if they do not adapt to same speed and hard working levels everyone else is. Also it is good to remember that the harder you work, you will have more opportunities open for you.

I definitely think that hard work and dedication is something that is very hard to come by. Many people are used to the 9-5 work hours - meaning show up and 9 and leave at 5. Not 5:01, 5:00. However, to an owner or manager of a business, the people that are willing to put in extra time and effort into their work can prove to be more valuable to the company than those that show up as late as possible and leave as early as possible. I myself am guilty at doing this at one of my jobs, however at my other job I will stay however long I am needed. I think that your dedication in your work all depends on if you actually like it or not, and with that being said I think that you should always shoot for having a career that you truly love.

I agree that a great work ethic can take you a long way. I always seem to be that person at work that stays longer or comes in earlier when a supervisor needs something done. It shows that I am dedicated and I am willing to put in the extra effort when it is really needed. I understand that sometimes an individual may not be able to work late because maybe they have to pickup a child or maybe they have a night class, but I think it is important to do if you don't have other obligations.

I have always been told this quote, "that hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard." Hard work is often times the trait that separates you from your competition, even though it can't be just told, it must be seen. I like how the article put an emphasis on how hard work can compensate for some other areas that you are just not as good at. It's important to remember that even when you are talented at the something, the more hard work you put into it, the results can be amazing. It is easy to not work as hard when you are talented. I believe that the greatest thing about hard work is that it is a choice; it is completely up to you!

I agree with the author of this article, getting a jobs can be hard for many people. After getting the job, proving that you really can work involves going extra mile and being ethical! i absolutely agree that employees appreciate someone who not only a hardworking and ethical but willing to learn. Possessing this two traits can take you far that someone who thinks he is smart than others. Coming to work earlier, making sure you complete your work before you leave which may involves leaving late that anybody elses can be controlled and they show how dedicated and committed. Do the best the things that you can control!!

Showing how you are a dedicated and committed person is important when working. If you show how you’re a willing employee, you can receive rewards, or promotions. Or if the company has to make some cuts, you will have no worries because you know you are an asset. Being a dedicated and committed person has benefits, but not being one has many down falls.

Our work ethic is one of the most valuable characteristics we posses. With out a good work ethic efficiency, effectiveness, leadership, and corporate culture are not at its' maximum levels. The author is exactly right when he mentioned that some one that isn't as brilliant as their associate can advance quicker due to their work ethic because great leaders have good work ethics. Anyone can learn the proper skills needed to do their job responsibilities but ideal employees go beyond the bare minimum of what is expected. It makes since if we were to compare the career success of the most brilliant person to the not so smart person with a strong work ethic. Brilliance does not define success. Success is defined by our actions.

Instant MBA: The Key to Success Is 'Out-Hustling' Everyone
This article discusses the importance of working hard at your job to compensate for other weaknesses you may have as an employee. If you put in hard work and show your bosses that you will be dedicated and try your best, they will see your effort and help you out when you need it. In my personal life I have learned this through sports. I would show up to practice and give my all, and go that extra mile, in order to better myself as a player. I intend to do the same when I begin my career to be the best employee I can be and hopefully move up the latter.

"The key to success is 'out hustling' everyone"
This article spoke to my past work experiences. I have worked in restaurants for over 10 years. Learning new recipes each time I switch kitchens has always been a challenge for me; it usually took me well over 3 months before I learned half of them. I made up for this by my work ethic; I would be the guy to call when a shift needed to get covered; I would be the guy who wasn't afraid of getting on my hands and knees to clean something on the floor or behind a cooler; I would be the first one to show up for a shift and the last one to leave. It's this work ethic that helped me raise my hourly pay rate, at my current employer, from $9/hr to $15/hr in just one year. During that year I did manage to learn the entire recipe list, as well as start training new employees. The people I trained showed an ease in learning the recipes, yet lacked a strong sense of urgency/work ethic. Work ethic can't be taught. "Hard work is infectious." When my fellow employees saw how I was willing to do the "dirty work" and saw how I was being recognized for it with an increase in pay, they too started to work harder and show better work ethic.

The article explains that workers can stand out from other workers by taking more time in learn about the job. I have seen examples of this from past jobs where employees have out shined others by coming to work early, staying late to complete the job, and willing to learn the ends and outs of the job. You can take these ideas and use them in your own career and they will work as long as you have the dedication to learn and put in the work.

I like the topic of this article and I completely believe it is a true statement. It is not necessarily important to be the best, but to put forth the effort and time to try and achieve being the best. The harder you are working the more likely you will become better in different aspects of your company. Also, people can see and appreciate the hard work that is being put in. Hopefully, the reward will match the time being put in.

Instant MBA: The key to success is out hustling everyone I have had lots of jobs since I have been old enough to work and in each one of these jobs I have seen someone rise to a manager's position just by out hustling someone else. At Wal-Mart, for example, there was a girl that started her position as a cashier at the same time that I started working in Housewares. I no longer work there because I did not like the atmosphere, but she is now a manager. It is all because she came to work on time and did her job with no complaints. She also applied for managers positions when they became available. She got the job because she was diligent in what she was doing and now she enjoys working at Wal-Mart even though she didn't feel that retail was the right fit for her in the beginning. I feel that in order to get what you want in life, you have to work hard for it. Because there is always someone out there that is willing to do whatever it takes to get what they want career wise out of life and those are usually the people that succeed.

It is always a good thing to be intelligent, but brains does not get you everything. Working hard for what you want is the key. You don't have to know everything from the start, but the harder you work, the easier the information is to learn. Showing an employer you are willing to work long and hard to be successful is sometimes all they want to see. They understand that no individual knows everything, but they do want to see someone who is willing to do anything to continue to learn each and every day. I couldn't agree more that situations present themselves because you are there. You can't expect everything to be perfect from the beginning, but the more you are in situations the easier it can be to make something happen!
