I agree with this article. There are a lot of people who are very smart and that comes naturally to them, but work ethic isn't something that is effortless. I think when it comes down to it, an employer would rather someone who graduated with a 3.2 and has a high will power to work rather than someone who graduated with a 4.0 and just wants to laze through their work day. Hard work is contagious, one willing to work hard encourages others to work hard and opens opportunities for further promotions in leadership roles.

Instant MBA: The Key To Success Is 'Out-Hustling' Everyone
I love this piece. It's almost hinting at an equalizing effect: you may not be the smartest, the most charismatic, or even the luckiest, if you are willing to work harder than everyone else. Everyone has equal opportunities--that's the fantastic thing about America. Work harder than anyone else, go farther. If success is important to you, you'll go above and beyond to make sure it happens.

This article is about pushing yourself to become the best person in your working field. I like this quote, "The harder you work, the luckier you get." If you work hard everyday by taking no day off, you can achieve whatever you want to do. You don't have to be the smartest in the room or workplace, hard work will take care of that. Employers can easier teach people how to use their system but can't teach the hard work you can give them. That's why I enjoyed reading this mini article.

Bloomburg's article made me think that he was probably a friend of my mom! She raised my brother and I to NEVER settle for less that our best and that ANYTHING is possible if you work long and hard enough for it. When we first started working after school, at the age of 14, our employers would compliment us by telling her we were VERY UNUSUAL for kids our age as we'd NEVER stop working. One told my mom is there was nothing to do, we'd even go clean the toilets! Bloomburg is correct in that this work ethic says a lot about your character and will take you far in the business world. If we want to be a success in business and in life, we must work for it!

Instant MBA: The Key To Success Is 'Out-Hustling' Everyone People often say in order to succeed in the business world, you have to know someone and that can be true...in some cases. People also think the level of your degree can have an effect as well which education is extremely important so I wouldn't disagree, but people fail to realize that managers rejoice for the employees who do not mind hard work and are quick learners. While education and status are two great tools to help you in the business field, hard work and dedication to the business can trump that at anytime. It's important to leave your mark on a project so your boss can remember who was really listening and taking notes when it's time to think about promotions.

I agree with the author that out hustling can and will earn you recognition among managers. By working hard it can compensate for weaknesses that you may have in a certain career. A person with a strong work ethic is usually desired more than anyone else. A person that out hustles everyone else is more likely to receive a raise more than a person that is very intelligent. Being smart can only get out so far, you have to be a hustler.

Hard work does come with dedication and diligence, but sometimes it goes unnoticed. Sure it’s admirable to be the first one there and the last to leave but, overcompensation of time does not amount to the passion one has. All the work in the world doesn’t always make you successful. I disagree that you can control your luck. You can limit the odds of potentially failing miserably but, you can’t predetermine your future or destiny. In my experience, I’ve been to jobs where you see people work their tails off to move up, but no one cares to acknowledge how well they’ve done, or there’s little reward. Out hustling someone could possibly lead to success, but also a large amount of stress and the pressure to continue.

Personally, I believe whole heartily in this article simply because I am an athlete, and there is a saying that we use “Hard work will be talent, if talent don’t work hard” meaning you can have all the potential in the world, but if you’re not willing to do what is necessary to bring out that talent it goes to waste. Its simple, there are in tangibles in life you just cant teach and work ethic is one of them. With hard work, trial and error, and patience one can learn and become more efficient than somebody who just possess the knowledge without determination.

I like the main idea of this article, work harder than everyone else and you can receive more opportunities and be a necessity in the company you work for. I'm sure its the same for everyone when they look at themselves and others and think that they aren't as smart but they work harder and make better grades or have a better presentation. In my experience it would have to be playing baseball, I knew I wasn't the best athlete that was on the field but I knew I worked harder than that athlete and became better myself and it showed in what I did. This article really does hand out some truth to the business world, show that you are willing to do whatever it takes and people will recognize you for it and reward you with opportunity.

Instant MBA: The Key To Success Is 'Out-Hustling' Everyone
In today’s competitive business world work ethic is ultimate skill that stands above all other qualifications once a new person has been hired. When an organization is looking to internally promote a manager or supervisor, the person chosen is often elected due to their enthusiasm for out-working the competition. However, 'Out-Hustling' everyone is not always a positive feat, and is often met with animosity from within the organization's own ranks. Work ethic is a powerful tool that every worker should possess however to have a "stronger" work ethic does not always correlate with the best worker. Some people just enjoy self-satisfied glory that allows them to stand out and alone from the group. If the entire organization is out-hustling their competition then, and only then will that trait be a successful one. Hustle to lead others and not for one's own selfish reasoning.

As a manager I can completely agree with hard work can outshine a smart person. Having a good work ethic is everything in today world. To be noticed in a job setting you have to work for it. Putting in the hours to understand the job you are doing pays off in the long run. There will always be someone that knows more than you, or that has more experience than you, but if you can out work that person you can receive the promotion. The harder you work at the job the more you will learn about it.

I'm not the smartest person, or the most talented but when it comes to working towards something i give it 110%. I think that this goes back to finding your passion. When you are passionate about a goal, you aren't going to stop working until you achieve those goals, no matter how long it takes. A hard work ethic, just like passion, is a hard trait to find in many people. I think it's just our generation. We've become lazy because we expect handouts but the reality is that isn't going to happen forever. The sooner people realize this, the sooner we will start to find more people with a work ethic.

INSTANT MBA: 'The Key To Success Is 'Out-Hustling' Everyone'
This is definitely the key to success and I have always believed that simply being a hard worker and dedicated is what you need to keep your position and move up in your career. Of course there are requirements in order to get the job, but after learning the necessary skills, you must remain motivated to do what your job calls for. Hard work and dedication hardly goes unnoticed, especially if everyone is are slackers. Take that to your advantage, and when you’re rewarded you become the leader and everyone has to try to keep up with you now.

It's not always about being the smartest in the room, because if you don't put the work behind it. It means nothing, but if you are hardest working person in the room someone notices that. Whenever it's time for you to go on interview you always focus on how hard you work. You don't tell the interviewer I'm the smartest in the room. It's hard work and dedication that gets you to your goal not just being smart will do it.

Instant MBA: The Key To Success Is 'Out-Hustling' Everyone
This article discusses the importance of work ethics. Michel Bloomberg states that one of the most valuable traits an employee can demonstrate is willingness to work harder and longer than anyone else. That means getting to work early and staying late. Working extra hours shows employers you are willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done. It also gives you time to learn everything backwards and forwards which in turn makes you a valuable asset to a company and sets you apart from the crowd.
