I agree that when owning a small business you do have to be willing to get out and network with the neighborhood. But what I also feel is important in this case was the willingness this owner had to change her whole way of doing business to cater to her customer needs. To me that's one of the main reasons why her shop is still open

Being a part of the community is extremely beneficial to organizations, big and small. It is especially difficult for a local business to be successful if there are not involved and open to the community. When the public around you views your company in a public light, it encourages them to stay faithful to your company. People love supporting local, family owned businesses, but only is they are aware of them. Being a part of the community is a great for selling purposed, but it also creates a friendly, trustful environment for the employees and customers.

As a small business, including your community can allow your community to include you. The community is your customers and they are the best asset that your company has to offer.

Owning a small business can be a very difficult task. As a small business owner you do not have the resources you might have if you owned a franchise. When owning a small business you have to build relations with the community around you in order to survive. Without these relations the odds of longevity greatly decrease. I personally would rather own a franchise in which it is already well known and the marketing is practically done for you. I know my option would be rather more expensive, but I believe it would be of an easier task. I salute small successful business owners, because I have seen first hand the amount of work and hours that must be put it in order for it to be of success.

There is a tattoo shop that just opened up in my home town. They have only been open for about 6 months, but they are extremely successful. I think this success comes in a large part from their community involvement. They are very involved in local charities and supportive of many organizations in the area. I think that the good karma they are putting out is coming back to them 10 fold and they are enjoying their success. One of my favorite things that they do is offer discounts to veterans.

The fundamental essence of small business is enriching the community that it serves. I believe small businesses have a responsibility to have a presence in the community.

I like this video and think that it gives good points. You should be involved with your community to get to know people so that they like you and would want to go to your business. I feel like the more people you know, the more successful you can be. And being involved in your community is not only good for business but also in your personal life!

"Small business is all about the local community." This is true. For small businesses, your target market is your community, unless on the rare occasions you are solely an online company. Plus you community is not only your companies biggest critics, but also they are your best promoters for world of mouth and online reviews. It is important for small businesses to win over their community in order to be a success.

If you own a small business or want to have a small business, this video is very informative. Embracing your local community can help your small business become successful. They can sometimes help you when your company is down like the lady in the video with her wine shop. So overall embrace in your local community and communicate with the people who live the your local community.

I think it is very important for all businesses to stay connected to their community. Social responsibility is an aspect of business that is thankfully becoming more popular and even expected.
