This video definitely hit home for me. I attempt to multi-task all the time at work. From reading emails while working on a project, answering phone calls to replying to text messages. I will admit that my best work is done, when I focus on one project and leave everything else alone until it is completed. I agree with this video that it is best to focus on one task in order to do your best work.

This is news to me; I always thought it was a good thing to be able to multitask. I normally pride myself on my ability to multitask, but that is a practice that I am going to have to let go. I always figured that if you could multitask you were being efficient. If you can answer an email, while reading over, and signing off on, a document, you are essentially killing to birds with one stone. I’m glad I saw this video and would recommend t to anyone who is a multitasker.

I definitely agree that there are different levels of multitasking. However, I think in some instances it is an important skill to have. You can;t write a detailed email to your client of you are on the phone with another. The quality of work is going to suffer in one, the other, or even both. Being able to focus and finish one task well, but quickly is probably more important so that many tasks can be accomplished. In the business world, money and time is probably wasted on people trying to multitask too many things.

Multi-tasking is a part of my life every day. I have an eleven year old son so doing 5th grade homework and cooking I can say I have burnt the beans. We live in such a fast paced world these days, so multi-tasking is essential for me to do what I need to do. Although in business, I feel that one should focus on one task at a time. Multi-tasking leaves the window for error open. So completing one thing before moving on to another is better. There is always tomorrow

This is something that I try to live by. Having too much going on can be overwhelming to the point of not doing anything. Focusing on getting things done in a singular manner can make them go by much quicker.

I really liked the video. Multitasking has really been the focus of what employers are looking for. This video really explains why people shouldn't multitasking. Usually at work I'm forced to multitask rater than focus on one single thing. When I do multitask the quality of my work really suffers. I will share this video with my employer to help them understand the disadvantages of multitasking.

I do this all the time. I start on one thing and then get distracted and begin another and then another until I forgot what it was I was initially trying to get done. Focusing your energy on one task will allow you to finish that task in less time and have it done much more efficiently than if you were trying to do it in conjunction with other tasks.

Multitasking I have always struggled with. It always seemed to impede on the quality of my work. Sometimes I would finish faster, but the result wasn't always to my liking. I agree with the video and find that my best work is done when tackled one at a time.

Work Smart: Stop Multitasking and Start Doing One Thing Really Well
Focusing on one task can be beneficial to your work performance. I try to stick by the statements she made, I rarely commit to something unless am giving a 100%. I know firsthand that the information she says in this video is true.

In my job I have to multitask if if don't then i wont get anything done. I think i do a great job with everything that I do. My work definitely shows with how I do things and it is a result of multitasking. I do believe that some people can not handle multitasking. I have people that I work with that are ADHD and they literally can not do two things at once and they freak out and get to overwhelmed. I thin with multitasking in order to do it right you need to make a list for yourself so you can mark off the things you have completed.

Some things should be given the chance to be done well but other tasks can be done by multitasking. I try to prioritize and manage my time according to deadlines and availability of time. She is right about juggling taking up more time. When I sit to write a paper, I knock it out much faster when nothing is around me and it is quiet once I get the creatives juices flowing.

I agree with this video for the most part. I think that being good at one specific skill is something that can definitely land you toward a career path, but what after you get the job? I think that being able to multitask is something that is a good thing.

I always seem to be multitasking throughout a normal day. And there is always a point where I am doing something and forget what it was I was about to do all of a sudden. I tend to multitask when I am on the phone or when I am cleaning around the house. Its always tasks that I can do autonomously without having to focus a lot of attention on it. But as far as working on a school assignment and trying to have a serious phone conversation, it won't work. It never has. I either have to stop working on the assignment or end the phone call because it won't be productive.

Focusing on multiple tasks at the same time is impossible. We sometimes think that we are multitasking, when really our brains are just working very hard to switch from one task to another quickly. The act of multitasking important work efforts actually wastes time, because our brain is working to switch back and forth. We lose our train of thought in this process.

I am guilty of "multi-tasking". What she says in this video is that when you are "multi-tasking" you are not doing two things at once. Instead you are switching your attention from one thing to another. This means you are juggling tasks. Sometimes you have to do this but other times you do this because you think you may get them both done. But what you should do is one thing at a time. Not only will i take less time but you will complete each task more accurately as well.
