Work Smart: Stop Multitasking and Start Doing One Thing Really Well Multitasking in some cases might not be a bad thing. Some multitasking can lead to failure because people take on too many tasks at one time. Other multitasking can be a good things like when working a small job people can do several little task at one time. But a high priority job people should focus on one task at a time because if they don't it tends to get all confusing and people loss sight of there goals.

I agree with this video for the most part. I think that being good at one specific skill is something that can definitely land you toward a career path, but what after you get the job? I think that being able to multitask is something that is a good thing.

Work Smart: Stop Multitasking and Start Doing One Thing Really Well
This article discusses the importance not only multitasking, but doing so in an effective pattern. It is importance to stay on track and not to joggle tasks. I agree with this video and I found it helpful.

Multitasking can create a lot of problems with accuracy. Your mind is all over the place, and it makes it hard to focus on what's important. E great example of this is texting and driving. People are so focused on their phone messages that they forget that they put themselves into a dangerous situation. I have never seen a human that could effectively and efficiently multitask.

This video don't apply to me because I personally sucks at multitasking so I don't try it anymore, but this video is helpful because if you focus on one thing at a time, you will complete the task on what ever you are doing quicker than going back and forward to two or more things. So stop multitasking and do only ONE thing. My advice to you people lol

I think this video has a good message but, for me it's just not realistic. Being a receptionist and having the phone ringing wile you're trying to proofread a letter or having someone interrupt you to ask you to mail something are just things that are going to happen. I don't think multitasking is a problem per say as long as you handle it in a smart way and not let all the tasks overwhelm you.

The video talks about focusing on one particular task rather than being engaged On several tasks at a time. This allows that one task to be properly executed and reduces the chances of making mistakes.

Work Smart: Stop Multitasking and Start Doing One Thing Really Well I agree with this video. I do a lot of multitasking at work and I would be so much more productive if I could focus on one task at a time. I just wish my boss thought so as well!

Multitasking is hindering everyones work performance. Instead of multitasking we need to learn to do one thing really well. With my own experience i find that when i am trying to do to many things at one time often times i complete nether task to my best ability. Knowing this know i will try harder to just complete one task at a time.

I would have to say that I do not agree with this video. I do agree that sometimes multitasking may not be the best idea however this video seems impractical. Yes, "multitasking" may just be "juggling" tasks but in this day and age that is what you have to do and that is what many companies and jobs require. You will hardly ever be able to just work on a single task from start to finish. I think that it is naïve to think that you will or even could do that. Juggling tasks is not only a part of working but it is also a part of life.

One Life-Changing Class You Never Took: Alexa von Tobel at TEDx
I think it is wise to choose the proper time and tasks to multitask. For instance, if those slides are due then everything else may need to be put on hold but in my profession people have a general expectation of a quick email reply, so those emails may need to be answered right away. We know that it takes time to switch back and forth from tasks so we should try to limit this when possible.

It is better to focus on one thing and just do it. I can bet that most of us were juggling while doing this. We were listening to music or watching TV. Some of us have children so you might be helping them with their homework. Juggling is not always the best way but sometimes we have to. For instance, I was doing my links but my eleven month old woke up. So I had to put down my links and tend to him until he was sleepy or focused on something else.

Work Smart: Stop Multitasking and Start Doing One Thing Really Well
Anytime i have an assignment to do, the internet is such a big distraction for me that i cannot do both. I lose my focus and then i waste time because i have to go back into thinking mode. I agree that multitasking for the right situations are great, but that juggling ultimately leads to a crash of productivity.

I'd like to agree to disagree. Sure, balancing multiple things at once can lead to wasted time but, when it really counts multitasking can be somewhat beneficial. For example, doing a research paper may be something I should focus most of my attention on but, my favorite show is on. Why can I not do both? I may have to sacrifice sleep later but, it'll get done. I often feel like when you have more things to do, it motivates you to want to juggle and push forward rather than procrastinate.
