Great tips on how to transition in your personal and career life. I haven't had experience with this but I believe moving or transitioning can be a very difficult thing especially if you are moving away from your family. I am such a mommas girl and dread the idea of leaving home but I know I don't want to stay here in Louisiana so being able to reach out to people before I move away will be important.

Navigating Major Career Transitions
Promotions sound better than what they really are. Transitioning is the hardest part. You know the responsibilities of the past job, but you may be completely unsure of the day to day activities that you will be required to perform. Learning what to let go of and what to grow on can help you transition better. Leading peers is the hardest part and consistently working on the relationship is the best way to fix any problems.

I have witnessed first hand the obstacles that are at hand due to job transitioning and relocating a family. My husband's job relocated our family to Louisiana and I was able to transfer with my company as well. Having to learn a new job as well as getting your family acclimated to a new home, new schools, and new environment can be stressful. The suggestions that were discussed in this video are really beneficial in making a transition easier.

Changing jobs or positions within a company is difficult and sometimes harder than starting a new career at a new company. Every aspect of our lives can be affected just like he was saying. Organizations can very much help this transition. I believe a huge part is management. Transition is a relevant activity on a daily basis. On boarding is another thing that was brought up in this video. I know that on boarding is vital to bringing new employees up to speed. There should be a lot of focus on plugging them in correctly and effectively.

I thought this video was a little slow and but became more interesting as I watched. The fact is that CHANGE in business is scary. It can make or break your company. It is crucial to make sure every variable is covered or researched before making any big transition decisions.

When transitioning into a new position, it can be difficult to adapt. There will be some challenges along the way. Some people have a hard time separating themselves from their peers they have left behind or are now in charge of. Great relationships among your peers can become rocky. The ability to delegate the work load is another challenge when moving up the career ladder. Some are used to doing the work themselves but now the work load needs to be pushed to associates and peers. Getting a promotion is exciting but working in that new position can be stressful in the beginning. Overall, it is important to create a support system when making the new move.

Every now and then change occurs at work or sometimes people switch to different jobs or different companies, i think the main thing for me would be to have an open mind and a willingness to learn. With the current economic situation, the luxury of not being flexible is not available to all. Especially to some of us who are heading into the workforce as rookies.

Although this video may not apply to many students right now, it is something we can take in the future. When I graduate I hope to move out of state for employment. At this time, I will definitely take this video into account. The speaker talked about moving into another company and how the most important things are your family's happiness as well as fitting in with the new company's culture. I will keep this in mind when i make the big move.

I felt like this video was slightly boring but I agree with the point. Transition happen to everyone all the time, whether it is in your career or in your life. We are all hopefully going to make the transition from student to professional and I for one cant wait!

I believe that the transitioning phase an employee goes through, whether it is during his 90 day probation period or being promoted to a higher position, is going to set the tone for how that employee is going to behave in that position full time. Transitioning from one job to another is definitely very difficult and can be uncomfortable. The employee is out of his or her comfort zone and is forced to make a change and in most cases challenge themselves. If during there probation period, they have a supervisor that comes and checks on them constantly and asks how they are doing, then that employee is going to be hard working because they know that someone is watching after them and actually cares about the work they are doing.

Transitioning is a hard thing to do in any situation, especially in business. The interviewer made the comment in the beginning of the video that transitioning is more important recently because of the economic problems businesses have faced. Many people not only lost jobs, but were moved around and forced to change to different positions. This can present many problems, and cause employees to be put in uncomfortable situations which they don't know how to properly handle. Not all transitions are negative. The video mentions promotions, and how transitioning to a higher position requires employees to become more direct and authoritative. This may seem easy in text, but when dealing with transitions like this in real life form serious problems to arise.

Learning how to smoothly transfer from one phase in one's life to another is a huge tool one can use not only in the corporate setting, but anytime in our everyday lives. Everyone has to transition through different times in their life and the managerial transition is no different.

Transitions are an important part of both life and business. Transitioning from one stage to another can be a positive or a negative. When making a business transitions one most consider all the possible outcomes, along with the pros and cons of that transition. In a personal life one may have to make a decision that could pave the path for their future. When making this decision it is best to consider how it benefits or affects you as individual. You can look at the possibility of it affecting other relationships that involve you, but ultimately you are the one who has to live with the transition and its outcome.

This was an interesting video. Certainly is can be tempting to stay in a particularly comfortable position. However, do so would come at a cost. Knowing how to navigate the transition process is vital to ensuring a successful transition. The speaker’s suggestion to companies of helping its managers during their transition process certainly has some merit. This video has also brought to mind just how much career transitions will affect me especially in the first ten years when turnover is at its highest.
