INSTANT MBA: Look To Your Past To Figure Out What Works For You In The Future
While I do agree with this article about taking a step back to evaluate what you have done in the past that worked, I do not agree with remodeling or changing a product just because it was not successful years ago. Sometimes, just reintroducing a product into the market may be enough. It's highly possible that at the time the product was introduced, it was not the right timing for this product. Sometimes things that were popular ten years ago and didn't sell, may sell today. The key is knowing a little about the market and what consumers are interested in.

INSTANT MBA: Look To Your Past To Figure Out What Works For You In The Future In today’s society, it’s all about change and adapting but that’s not always a good thing. We are always pushing and searching for new ways to do things but may get lost in the process, forgetting what worked in the beginning. While learning new things are good, it is best to find your strength and focusing on doing that to the best of your abilities. Doing this may turn out to be more profitable than choosing the new route and if you still need change then just try to implement your strengths into the new ways.

INSTANT MBA: Look To Your Past To Figure Out What Works For You In The Future
This article is an example of how you should not only run your business, but live your life in general. It basically says to learn from your mistakes, and use your past experiences, whether they be successes or failures, to build your business and make it better. Although you may have never encountered a certain situation before, you van use your judgement, as well as similar situations from the past to figure out the best way to get things done.

It's perfect that a company would still use their history and make tweaks to it that allows them to prosper. I tend to be drawn towards those types of companies. I like the feeling it gives me with seeing a part of their history mixed with the current times.

Alt link 20: INSTANT MBA: 'I Want To Be The Dumbest, Poorest, Least Successful Guy In The Room'
It's not a bad thing to be the dumbest, poorest person in the room. Personally, if I am the dumbest, poorest, least successful, or even weakest person in a team, then I must be on a really good team.

INSTANT MBA: Look To Your Past To Figure Out What Works For You In The Future We have run into this problem at my job. Someone's idea didn't work out the first time around, but we did not want to dismiss the idea. Instead, we created a book where we right down ideas from coworkers that are given to us and write down why they would not work at the given time. When we run into another problem at work, we always go look in the book and then brainstorm. Using past ideas and giving them a chance can be most beneficial for your company. But it is also rewarding for the employee who came up with the idea.

INSTANT MBA: Look To Your Past To Figure Out What Works For You In The Future
This is definitely new to me. Bt I can see where it would make sense. This is another one of those things where balance is key. Too much of old stuff and you lose people's attention. But, totally new ventures are often risky at best. So, find something that worked in the past and just give it a new zest to make it work for whatever new thing is going now.

INSTANT MBA: Look To Your Past To Figure Out What Works For You In The Future
It makes a lot of sense to look into the past to see how it worked then to make it work now. I use this in my life now. When I am trying to figure out something for school, I can sometimes think about how I made it work for a different class or past schedule to put it all into play for the current problem at hand. In business this makes the most sense though. If something is suffering, using what was a problem solver in the past and creating it into a new solution for a different problem can work wonders, I'm sure.

I completely agree with this article. Sure the ways of doing business have changed a little from a technological stand point, but the very core will never change. Going back to past successes is a very useful practice. This is the same reason sports teams watch film. People are interested in not only in success vs failure, but a hard true example of it is the best template one can have. I really think this article has some true value.

INSTANT MBA: Look To Your Past To Figure Out What Works For You In The Future
Looking in the past to see what works for you in the future is a good idea when managing a business. Have you ever heard the saying, "history repeats itself"? Sometimes looking in the past to see what helped you at that moment can help you in the future. For example, if you are running a store maybe you can look at past inventory orders to see what to buy in the future. When running a business you should use the past to your advantage to help you in the future.

INSTANT MBA: Look To Your Past To Figure Out What Works For You In The Future
I don’t think this article can relate to the technology field. As you can’t use the old outdated ideas as you had in the past. I think the world is constantly changing and you may need to focus on what your competitors are doing to bring in new business. Go to some of the conferences for your industry and get ideas of what your customers are looking for.

INSTANT MBA: Look To Your Past To Figure Out What Works For You In The Future
Success comes from trial and error and you learn what works from your mistakes, so it only makes sense that you should look to the past to figure out what will work in the present and future. Looking back at what worked for your business in the past will give you insight on what to go off of for present decisions that affect the future. True, you may have to modify your past plans, but if your choosing a path the previously worked for you, you are taking the guesswork and risk out of the equation. It is true that we learn from our mistakes so judging what to do for the future based off of what we learned from the past is a great idea. Past personal experience is a good thing to consider when judging plans for the future.

You also need to decide what has not worked so that you can either change it up to make it work or not use it at all.Looking back at what worked for your business in the past will give you insight on what to go off of for present decisions that affect the future.Innovation is indeed the key.
