INSTANT MBA: Look To Your Past To Figure Out What Works For You In The Future
In this link it talks about looking to the past to make a better future for your company. Looking to the past can help a business prolong it's future. It can help you see what was wrong and is it still a problem. They can also look at the good things and how it can be applied to today. Looking to the past is useful, but it can also be a problem. Sometimes the past should be left in the past. Also if you allow others to look in the past they may go to old traditions that can really hurt the company. It is also not a good idea to recycle old ideas. It can be a huge help to a business to look into the past.

I agree with the author of this article that you should look to your past to help make your decisions as to what you'll do with your business in the future. We can all recall times in our past where we messed up and, if we're smart enough, rethink what happened to cause the mess up and make sure we don't repeat the same mistakes. We can also recall times when we made wise decisions in our lives and, again, if we're smart, we recall the events that led up to us making those decisions. It's THESE events/decisions that we should strive to repeat when we're venturing out in business or even when simply making our next life decisions. Yes, I think it's very wise to recall our past to help us make the best decisions for our future.

INSTANT MBA: Look to Your Past to Figure Out What Works For You In The Future
Looking back at what was successful in the past is not a bad idea. If your company starts to run into issues and is in trouble, why not look back to times when it wasn't. If it worked then, it should work again. If those methods of running things are obsolete, then make minor adjustments to modernize your methods. Ultimately, when your business has taken a turn for the worst, changes must be made. You can decide to create and implement something new, but it would be smarter to not take the risk of failing again and trying something you already know was successful. It would be easier to implement and you can begin making changes immediately.

Instant MBA: Look To Your Past To Figure Out What Works For You In The Future I agree with this article, if something is the past was working well for the company tries to bring that concept back around again. Whether is may be a certain campaign that made the come get more sales at the time or a certain promotion try to use it again and see what outcome it gets. Remember a newer group of people are interested in the market that your trying to grow so chances are they haven’t see it before. Also it will be able to hit customers who have like it and have missed it since it’s been gone. Don’t be afraid to look into the past in order to grow. The world is always growing and older things are also coming back in style.

INSTANT MBA: Look To Your Past To Figure Out What Works For You In The Future
Taking something from the past and revamping it can definitely be profitable. You see companies all the time use old products with a new spin to make new revenues. Look at a point in time when your company experienced growth and go off of one of the trends used at that time.

I absolutely love this article. It contains a lot of information that is relevant in the industry today. The business industry is constantly changing on a daily basis, and business has to learn to adapt to theses changes to stay ahead of the curve. That is the key to success. Also, I agree that taking chances on ideas or untested concepts can lead to a breakthrough product that can be very profitable and rewarding. These chances can come from conversations or either brainstorming ideas.

INSTANT MBA: Look To Your Past To Figure Out What Works For You In The Future
This article tells you to look at your company's past to reevaluate what works best for the company and what the company's strengths are. However, I feel that sometimes the past is not relevant. Society and business has changed so much that many strategies and policies that are done in the past are outdated and will not benefit the company. I do however believe that it is important to learn from past mistakes and use them to better yourself and your company.

I think this is a great idea. Often times companies are trying to come up with the newest most inventive ways to fix problems. While this could definitely help, I think it is also good to look at what the company has accomplished and how. The old methods can give an insight to what the company may need to do to prosper. If anything it will inform your company of what not to do. I think if older methods are explored it could help the company out in the long run.

This article has great advice, if your business is in a rut and it seems like all your options and ideas have run dry, why not look back into previous strategies and use a version of those? This idea could prove to be very efficient, previous strategy plans obviously worked and helped the business prosper so even if the strategy is outdated, it can be a base for a new idea to pull the business out of it's rut and back into prosperity.

INSTANT MBA: Look To Your Past To Figure Out What Works For You In The Future
I agree with this article because if a business was prosperous in the past that clearly meant something they were doing was working. I'm a fan of the "if it's not broke, don't fix it" thinking because some of the best ideas were done in the past and if they are still working, why she would think it needs fixing.

Yoder makes a good point here. Instead of creating brand new ideas when times get tough for a company, leaders should look to the old, trusted strategies that worked best in the past and revamp those. This will not only save time and money with research and implementation of new processes, but this will also ensure that the mission and goals of the company are remaining a part of planning.

INSTANT MBA: Look To Your Past To Figure Out What Works For You In The Future
It is always important to remember where you come from and it is no different for a business. Looking at past success can be beneficial to a company in certain ways. If your company has become more innovative by hiring open minded and artistic people then you would want to continue hiring those types of people. If your company is known to be extremely efficient and reliable then you would want to uphold those standards by constantly delivering on those ideals. However, it is important not to limit your future goals by identifying yourself solely by your past accomplishments.

Yoder believe if you are have ruff times in your business or company, you should look in the past of your company to my your business better. He said,"Innovation is key to making past strengths work for current and future times and changing the direction of your business." I agree on what he is saying.

Webtrends took a different approach towards innovation. Reflecting back on one's past achievements can provide an insight on ways for the company to improve. It is the best strategy for improvement since it looks at a company's past endeavors and looks for ways to make old ideas and products into new better things. What better way to make something great than take something that is already successful and revamp with or into what your consumers want.

If your business was successful in the past and suddenly becomes in a rut, it certainly would be a good idea to look at your company's past to see what worked. Obviously, if your business has been successful before, you did something right in the past to be that way. Figure out what you did that made your business so successful. Try to incorporate pieces of that again into your business perspective.
