At one of my jobs, we have recently done this technique in the past. Some employees were not making as much as others, even though they were doing the same amount of work, and we figured out a way to balance that out to make sure that everyone was getting treated fairly. We did so by looking at our previous ways of operation, and through that we placed and old idea back into place and went from there. Just because at one point a new idea is implemented into the company, it does not completely rule out the option of referring back to the old days when it was used.

INSTANT MBA: Look To Your Past To Figure Out What Works For You In The Future Totally agree with this statement, "You are who you are because of where you come from" i saying that you probably heard a thousand times growing up. I guess that article is referring to business as well. The same thing you did when you were a young business you should start from there. Maybe with a few minor changes to get that competitive edge this time around.

This article states some good ideas whether its the workforce or real life. Look to your past to figure out what works for you in the future, this is so true. In order to progress in the future you must reevaluate your past and spot out what used to work in the past and what didnt. In this situation in business, your past shouldnt haunt you but instead make the company better. Even if the past concepts are out of date a company can fix it and fine tune it and it might fix the company's present and future situations.

Every company needs to have its “go to play” like in football theres always one play no matter what the defense does it breeds some type of success, throughout the life of your business you will discover strategies or schemes that was very kind to you, once you find that scheme out you keep it in your back pocket for future problems. The beauty of innovation is that if your successful at implementing schemes that work for your company you’ll find your self with more than one “go to plays” leaving you more at ease in time of need.

Instant MBA: Look to Your Past To Figure Out What Works For You in the Future
This article is basically stating that you should always keep close to your original values. Keep close to the past strategies that originally made your business prosper. The ideas once worked for your company and maybe your company needs to go back to those ideas in order to get over the obstacles you are facing. I own a dance studio and my main goal is satisfying my customers, and treating my customers with a relationship not just as a client. Once you build this customer base you have to stick to your traditions. Sometimes you will lose sight of things when your dance studio grows and you forget to form those relationships with everyone which can cause you to lose the customers that originally got you to where you are. Going back to your origins will always boost that success once again.

This is because even if the idea is no longer the most current thing in your business, you can make sure that you tweak the idea to fit in with the new technology and with the needs of the company today. Knowing all these things you can make your business great and succeed more that it has in the past.

This article is right on and confirms my belief. I believe that your past experiences shape who we are. Some of the challenges we face in life are avoidable whereas other experience we’ve gone through were necessary to allow us to change and do better. In the past, my parents would tell me what to do and what not to do to protect me. It was for my own good. At the time, I felt they were nagging me or had no clue as to what was occurring in my young life. Until now, I realize why they told me what they told me. They wanted me to be better and learn from their mistakes. They wanted to instill the knowledge in me that they already knew. In the future, I hope to influence encourage those who look up to me to seek growth and change by reflecting on their past to reshape their future into something positive.

Link #20 Instant MBA Look to your past to figure out what works for you in the
future
I agree with Alex Yoder’s idea. If something is not broken don’t fix it. If something
you did you the past worked well why not bring it back in the future and just adapt
it to fit the new culture. If you marketed a product a certain way in the past and it
worked great for you why not try to market your new product the same way. If you
invested great in the past or if you made the production of a product more efficient
try and repeated that in the future. At the same time if something that you did in the
past did not work out then you may need to try a different technique. People who do
not know their past are doomed to repeat it.

INSTANT MBA: Look To Your Past To Figure Out What Works For You In The Future
This article presents a very simple but valid suggestion to struggling businesses. If a business is struggling then looking back to see what was done in the past when business was profitable is it's best consideration for the future. The article states "if the method that was used in the past is outdated, you can always take it and tweak it so that it fits your company today". Innovation is the key and if something worked for the business in the past why not use it again if it is not outdated?

INSTANT MBA: Look To Your Past To Figure Out What Works For You In The Future
I really like this article. If something worked for you in the past there is a chance it can still work for you. You might have to change something's and rework the concept, but if it has worked before there is a good chance it can work again. Like the article said you can learn a lot from your past experiences. Not all ideas or past experiences go bad.

I think it is a great idea to look to history to figure out a problem. This article has a valid point as to what to do during a certain crisis. If a business has a problem with what is going on in the present why not look to the past for some direction or answers to the problem. Learning from past mistakes and using that knowledge to help solve current problems allow for businesses to bounce back quicker. If they allow for the status quo to stay the same then the business will suffer, why not see what past businesses did to elleviate the pains of collapse.

INSTANT MBA: Look To Your Past To Figure Out What Works For You In The Future
Any advancement is generally an improvement of old techniques, and does not have to be an entirely new idea to be effective. For example, green logistics still use trucks to move supplies and products, but they found a way to reduce mileage and air pollution. It is still the same form of logistics, it's just an advancement in in the way they do it to make it healthier for the atmosphere.

What worked in the past, still works in the future. Technology may change it some, but you can always subtract or add to succeed. For example clothes and hair styles are coming back out as if they are brand know. But if you look at an old movie, you will see the same clothes and the same natural hair styles that are trending now.
