I agree that being a leader starts with not liking how things are being done. You have to decide that you want to make a change and lead things into a different direction. Being a leader is hard because it can require you to go against the odds and step out of your comfort zone. You have to have a goal that you want to accomplish and be determined to succeed.

When you first start The company you will sleep all types of certain things away. But you have to build the relationship with the staff as well as the effort of the team. Being a leader is hard work and you never get the respect right off the back. But as time goes and you prove yourself it makes a greater difference for the company!

INSTANT MBA: Leadership Starts With Complaining And Dissatisfaction
The analogy of being a successful leader compared to dating and finding the right one is comical! I can relate to the author's statement, though, that not many people want to be leaders because it's scary and risky. I backed out of a management position when I first graduated college and actually demoted myself as I felt I didn't yet have what it would take to be a successful store manager. Instead, I wanted to work my way up the ladder by attending classes with the corporation. Now that I'm a teacher, I can't even begin to imagine being a principal! With the stress I'm under in my position, I don't think they could pay me enough to be the leader of an entire school!

INSTANT MBA: Leadership Starts With Complaining And Dissatisfaction
What the article says is so true. When one accepts the responsibility of a manager or leader, they are responsible for everything; the good and the bad. For some, this position is just too risky. They could be great employees with an outstanding work ethic, yet are unwilling to step up and take the lead. Anyone can complain and have an opinion, but it takes a leader to be able to address the issues that are there.

I agree with this article. To become a leader is to go that extra step. You take yourself out of the comfort zone and address a situation that needs to be addressed. You are putting yourself in a vulnerable situation that you were not prior and you work to fix a problem that is common for multiple people. Putting yourself in that risky position is worth it when you believe in the direction the business should be going. It's important to believe in your business and your abilities. It is a lot easier when you make the ideas you are trying to achieve reachable and easy for you team mates to see and follow.

When seeing a problem in your organization you can harness your leadership skill by pointing those problems out. This is important when trying to be a leader, but a more effective leader would try to fix that problem that has been found. This may be hard and people may not see it from your point of view, if you fixed the problem none of that matters. In this link they use the words complaining and dissatisfaction" which are strong word used when pointing out a problem with idea or situation, but sometimes strong words are needed when trying to get to the bottom of that problem.

Leaders take charge of things that other people don't. Sometimes that is because it may come with too much work, and other times because it's the lack of wanting to fix a problem. However, just as the article says, being a leader can be scary and risky.

INSTANT MBA: Leadership Starts With Complaining And Dissatisfaction
Leaders have to know how to truly lead and create a good healthy work environment for there employees and customers. You have to be able to motivate your employees to want to work for you and your company. You have to be willing to get out there and do the same work they are doing. If you are willing to do this and your workers see how much the company means to you and the work you are willing to put in this will help your company succeed. Be the best and work the hardest and lead by example.

INSTANT MBA: Leadership Starts With Complaining And Dissatisfaction
I can see valid points in this article. A leader cannot be afraid to be dissatisfied with employees performance and be willing to be vocal about issues the company is having. Leaders cannot be passive and any successful business I have seen have opinionated vocal leaders that let their employees know what they are thinking and how they feel about their performance. If my employees show up late I let them know that it negatively impacted work and that I am not happy about it.

INSTANT MBA: Leadership Starts With Complaining And Dissatisfaction
Life is filled with problems and complains. Mark Pincus is completely accurate when he says a “real leader takes it a step further and fixes it.” Everyone can complain and point out problems but it takes a special person to propose how to fix it and actually MOVE on those ideas. An effective leader can also unite those around him to support his ideas for change. Because if you think about it, no proposals for change can come about without support of those will have to live by that change. Leaders can make that happen.

INSTANT MBA: Leadership Starts With Complaining And Dissatisfaction
A successful leader has to be able to deal with all kinds of issues, and complaining and dissatisfaction is definitely on of them. Complaining and dissatisfaction are a part of business. If a leader can successful deal with the negative aspects of a business then they definitely can deal with all of the positive aspects of it as well.

INSTANT MBA: Leadership Starts With Complaining And Dissatisfaction
If you don't set a goal, you will never achieve it because you don't know what you are working towards. You won't fight for what you believe in. Having that goal in place, you know where you want to end up and can decide if you are doing something wrong and won't get to your goal. Being able to tell that you are doing something wrong is only the first step; you must then go further and fix what is wrong. That is what makes a good leader.

Great article and great points by Pincus. Being a leader is a great responsibility and leading your employees toward success takes skills. Having the courage and know how to say lets do it this way or lets do it that way will get you respect and earn you title as leader. Making mistakes is likely but finding a solution is always there you just have to look for it or hire the right people to figure it out.

INSTANT MBA: Leadership Starts With Complaining And Dissatisfaction
Leadership includes speaking up when necessary instead of going with the flow. Leaders guide the flow with an understanding of where it should go, the desired outcome. Good leaders keep and eye on their goals. It is hard for some one to strive for a particular outcome if they do not have a firm vision of what it should be. Pincus mentions that a leader starts with complaining. What I think he means by this is a leader will stand up when they see something that can be better. Not only just stand up, they take it a step farther and take action on it.

INSTANT MBA: Leadership Starts With Complaining And Dissatisfaction
Any employee can be that person who whines and complains about the way things should be done but leaders actually get up off their behinds and do it. Being bold and upfront about what your idea is and how you want to implement it will make people take your seriously. At first it may be scary, but people will begin to respect you for it.
