INSTANT MBA: Time Is Money, But More Time Doesn't Equate To More Money Everyone wants to work and make as much money but working more hours doesn't necessarily mean more money in your pocket even though your paycheck will be big. Working too much can cause many health problems so the big paycheck you receive will end up going towards medical bills. Working 100+ hours has never crossed my mind and I'm pretty sure it would cause anyone to become ill or work performance drop drastically. This is why workers should learn to balance their work with their time off such as doing something that completely takes your mind off of your job when your not at work.

Alt link 51: INSTANT MBA: The Biggest Mistake Leaders Make Is Not Having A Strategy Corporate strategy is an important part of running a company. Business schools wouldn't teach it and there wouldn't be so many schools of thought and theories if corporate strategy was unimportant. Just because you hit gold with one product does not always mean you will be on top, you have to plan for when that well runs dry and what your next move will be.

INSTANT MBA: Time Is Money, But More Time Doesn't Equate To More Money
There is no person on Earth who can work and work and work endless hours every week and be successful. Many driven people think that becasue they have the drive and the love of their work that they are the perfect person to use all their time to get the business to new heights. But no one can handle it. The most devout worker will eventually suffer, in their work and personal life. Its always good to find a balance.

INSTANT MBA: Time Is Money, But More Time Doesn't Equate To More
Wow great article. Whenever I ran my business I too was working 80+ hour weeks. As a business owner, I felt obligated to have my hands in EVERYTHING. While it is a great idea to know how each aspect of the business is running, trying to do everything can make you lose focus on the big picture and can quickly overwhelm you. To be honest, whenever I stepped back and started working less hours, I was getting things done much faster and better than I was when working longer hours. I 100% agree that time doesn’t always equal money. However, some need to realize that time is a lot more valuable than money.

This situation is especially true when you own the company. The concern over your companies well being can run so deep that it is all you think about. Like many other things in life, taking a step back can be very helpful. It is helpful to gather perspective as well as catch your breath and get some rest.

INSTANT MBA: Time Is Money, But More Time Doesn't Equate To More Money
Most people would probably think that there is no such thing as working to much but there is. Sometimes working too much can be a bad thing. When you work too much the quality of the work you do sometimes starts to get bad. Everyone needs time to rest and get his or her mind off of work. Overworking can be very stressful and cause your work to suffer because of it.

INSTANT MBA: The Biggest Mistake Leaders Make Is Not Having A Strategy
I agree that the best way to create a thriving business is to go in with a clear vision of what you want. While it is important to consider what the public is interested in or what and how similar companies are marketing their products, its also important to stand out and stay true to your vision even if it strays from what the "norm" is. Dont be afraid to take a risk if its worth the gamble. Try your best to make a plan and stick to it. People will trust someone who is sure of themsevles especially if they arent 100% sure themselves.

INSTANT MBA: Time Is Money, But More Time Doesn't Equate To More Money
Taking a step back to gain perspective is important with many areas in life. I can definitely see how doing this with a job is especially important. When a person is tired, they are more apt to make bad decisions. Bad decisions then create bad outcomes for the company. Everyone needs a break from work now and then just to regroup and come up with new ideas. A person has to remain healthy and focused in order to be an asset to the company.

INSTANT MBA: Time Is Money, But More Time Doesn't Equate To More Money
Emily Eldridge gives good advice in this article. It is important to ensure that you are not overworking yourself. If you overwork yourself- then you lose out on the energy and drive it takes to complete your job. It can be beneficial to take a step back and take a break and take in the full picture. When you are too close to something you tend to miss out on things and not view the big picture as it is.

INSTANT MBA: Time is Money, But More Time Doesn't Equate To More Money
In today's society where people are always money hungry, myself included, I think that it is much easier to loose sight of what we set out to do. Working 100+ hours a week is easy to do when you love what you do but at the same time it is important to give your mind a break and step back to see the big picture. Physically, mentally, and emotionally you become recharged and can make better business choices, and come out on top!

INSTANT MBA: Time Is Money, But More Time Doesn't Equate To More Money
Too much time focused on one task can make it tiresome, boring, and repetetive. According to the article, it can even be bad for your health. The advice of the speaker in the article is to spend less time at work, and give yourself free time, becasue it is in that time that you will come up with your best ideas. Work-life balance is important as well, but if you can live outside of work, and come up with ideas, you can kill two birds with one stone.

INSTANT MBA: Time Is Money, But More Time Doesn't Equate To More Money
I am a big fan of giving employee time to breathe. I too used to work 50-60 hours at my last job and told myself that in my next job I will not work like that again. No time to take a break, catch a breathe, or just stretch. You can easily get burnt out with your work and it also changes your mind set about the company. I learned to find a balance.

I agree with Emily, if you are working too hard you do lose sight of the big picture. In the end the more time you spend on something does not mean you make more money. If you are working on getting every detail exactly the way you want it to be, you can lose money that could be in your pocket. Do not spend every waking hour on every detail. Develop a product and market it. While the product is selling, then come up with a better product. This way your product is getting sold, you are making money, and your business is becoming a popular name.

INSTANT MBA: Time Is Money, But More Time Doesn't Equate To More Money
I agree time is money but over working your self does not equal more money. When you are over working yourself you are putting yourself into a stressful environment that can be set up for disaster. Over working your self will make you feel tierd and not as focused. Goig to work you should work your hours like normal and make sure you are giving 100% to ensure that no mistakes are made.
