These four words have meaning beyond simply the potential answer given in response. Showing people you care and are willing to listen is important. People are more likely to put forth effort if they know it will make a difference. They also are more likely to work harder for a person they have a positive view on. Just as thank you please are commonly used, what do you think should be used often in business.

The four most important words in an organization are "What do you think?" This makes people feel like they are valued, and makes them think that you really want their opinion. It is a good way to bounce ideas off one another, and create a greater product than what you originally thought of in the beginning.

"what do you think" if you ever want to hear this don't work at Walmart. They don't give two cents what you think. This same statement goes for every other job that pays you minimum wage. If you want to hear motivating things like that go do something of value, where it does matter what you think. Don't be replaceable.

I agree that if someone were to ask me the question, "What do you think?" I would feel as if my opinion really mattered. I never think that asking someone else that question is quite that important until I actually think about how it makes me feel. I guess asking it more often would broaden my horizon and allow me to understand what people think.

I was expecting the four most important words in an organization to be adjectives, describing how people should behave or act. Instead, the simple saying "what do you thing" made a much bigger impact. The speaker emphasizes the YOU in what do YOU think, which perfectly shows interest in who you are talking to, making sure their voice is heard and understood. All consumers and workers want to feel their opinion is important. You can also emphasize the other worlds in the phrase to help accomplish your objective.

I loved the concept of the four words. This video was very enlightening; it was a concept that I've never been exposed to. I think this simple phrase can open up a line of communication that unleashes a gateway of for new ideas and solutions. This is hardly used at my current job, which I think could really be helpful. It also allows you to check if someone is really paying attention. I will begin to use as a leader in student organizations.

This video brings up an interesting dynamic in the work place. Most companies and businesses probably lack in getting ideas from their employees perspective. If you can ask a various amount of individuals " What do you think," it may lead to some unique ideas and future success. If you can engage your employees on the concept that they are important to how the business is operated, then their productivity should be increased . You have to let people know that every job is important and that there are no little things.

smart advice. it shows that you value other peoples opinion and honestly you should. you'd probably learn a lot from bringing these 4 words into your daily vocabulary. its huge to be able to understand that your knowledge is limited and your expertise is with flaw. when we look to others for guidance we can truly begin to learn the value of counsel.

I would definitely use this view in my future endeavors of my career. The four words "what do you think" are very powerful in my opinion. You need to be able to determine what it means to be a leader in your own opinion. If you can do this, then you will be more inclined to strive towards these goals, than if someone else set these standards for you.

This video is interesting because he discusses how he interact with people and asks for other people's opinions to learn more about a topic. He talks about how those words have a deep meaning and they effect not only us but the people we are asking. This is because it validates the person whose opinion we are asking as well as helps us to gain a new perspective on a topic that we may not have thought of originally.

What do you think? A simple little question that can make a huge different. It really shows whoever is receiving that question that their opinion not only has value, but that the asker cares as well. Weather an employer is asking his employee or and employee is asking an intern or even a customer. The care that is associated with this question makes people feel good. It makes them feel like the matter and what they say has importance.

I really like this video. It simply but catches your attention. By asking your employees what do you think? It gives them not only the opportunity to state their opinion but it also make them feel important. Everyone wants their opinion to matter and by asking several people their opinion you will more likely make a difference and make multiple people happy with your decision.

It seems like we are always giving our opinion of something or the way for something to be done or preaching our knowledge that we rarely take the time to involve others. We rarely ask this question "What do you think" of others, unless maybe were not sure what to do and are seeking advice, then we selfishly ask it. I think that by asking this questions of others we could learn a lot more as well as increasing the level of relationship you have with those you ask this question. We all have different views of the world around us and by seeing it from someone else's can only make us look at something more intelligently because now you not only have one possible way to do something or view about something, but now you have as many of those you have asked this question of "What do you think?"

I agree with Tom Peter's approach to "what do you think?" I believe that a healthy organization should have meetings with the managers in field and the executives in the corporate office. This allows the company to get an enriched view of whats going on and better tackle the company's problems.

Everyone wants to be appreciated in life. In the workforce an employee expects for his or her boss to treat them with dignity and respect and they also expect to be praised for outstanding performance on the Job. It's not what you say to people but it's how you say things. People can be corrected for mistake but it is the approach taking in correcting the situation. So in leadership position the words that one speak is very important because they can influence in either a positive way or negative way. that's why it is very careful to think before speaking when in position of leadership.
