Students, Please view and comment on this link of the day - yes, for your education, but also for the points, of course! Watch the video below: TITLE - LEADERSHIP: 4 Most Important WordsThen, post a comment in reply to this discussion thread. Again, what to post? Here are some ideas: + What did you take away from the video? + How does the video relate in some way to your past experience (work, as a consumer, family, school, etc.)? + How might you use these ideas in your own career? Good luck! David

This video makes a good point because, in any organization you should engage people as much as you can. By using the four more important words in an organization, what do you think? the employee will feel more of value to the company and provide a better input. This will also increase employee satisfaction because employees will feel that their opinion is valuable. This advice will be great to apply in any company and all managers should try to engage their employees by using the four words, what do you think.

LEADERSHIP: 4 Most Important Words
I enjoyed the simplicity of this idea: What do you think? Employees and clients want to know they are valued, and managers and business leaders either do a do job at this or a bad job at this. However, asking the simple question of 'what do you think?' can easily and effectively engage employees and customers at a level in which is needed. Being given an outlet to offer ideas, suggestions, and input helps employees and clients feel valued and that their opinions are important.

LEADERSHIP: 4 Most Important Words
I really like this video. It's simply and gets the point across. Asking employees "What do you think?" can go a long way. It shows you value their thoughts and opinions. I will definitely use this in my future if I become a manager. I have had previous managers ask me in the past what were my thoughts regarding a subject and I know how important that made me feel.

This video does well to focus on what those four words mean. "What do you think?" seems like it is just a question but after listening to the video it takes on a brand new meaning. When in the work force and a higher up asks an opinion on an idea, using these words, it gives the person a more important role. Using this method allows for employees to feel needed because they see that the opinion they have matters in whatever it is they are doing. Incorporating others into decisions makes it seem as if everyone matters and brings workers together.

TITLE - LEADERSHIP: 4 Most Important Words
I enjoyed this video because it made a simple question/concept become extremely important. I agree the "What do you think" are the four most important words that can be used in a business. Hearing that word combination really does make you feel valued and that your opinion counts. If the question "What do you think" was never asked, I am sure some of the most successful companies out there today would not be where they are today. On a side note, it is important that you are careful who you ask this question too. If they do not have the companies best interest at hand, you may not want to value their opinion.

Not only does asking this question make the other person's opinion feel valued, but their opinion can actually benefit your business and influence your own way of thinking. If this is the case, you become more open to listen to others and earn a bit more respect from the people you deal with, as you demonstrate that you respect their ideas. This is totally natural, however, when partnering with someone. Therefore people who are use to working in groups learn this before ever having to experience this in the real world of work.

LEADERSHIP: 4 Most Important Words It doesn't surprise me that the video would say that "what do you think?" are the four most important words in business. Listening is constantly said to be the most important thing to do in a business. When developing throughout a career it is so important to listen to others and bring their ideas out so that you can merge them with your own or create totally new ones.

I really enjoyed this video because it made a very simple point but an important point as well. 'What do you think?' is just a four word question that can truly make an employee feel like they truly matter(which they do). It makes an employee who may not think that you truly value their thoughts and opinions on important matters for the business.

I think this video has a good message. Asking for feedback is very important for expanding ideas and helping them take shape. Sharing ideas and asking for opinions can enable teams and companies to be more synergistic and leads to better innovation.

TITLE- Leadership: 4 Most Important Words
Tom makes a great point on a message that is commonly over-looked. From a managers perspective, those four words can be a very helpful asset in empowering employees, as well as, coming up with new insights. This shows interest and concern in what a person thinks which in tern will reinforce their respect for you.

I would definitely share this link with friends and colleagues. Thank you Dr. Wyld! I think this video is very insightful. I think the words "What Do You Think" have a ton of meaning. If those words were relayed to me by a colleague it would mean they value my opinion. Getting advice from that particular person is important because that person is an expert in that particular field or discussion. People would definitely be taken aback if they were asked this on a daily basis.
