INSTANT MBA: Don't Hang On To Your Past Success For Too Long
A business should always be looking for ways to better their products and services. A successful product or service that was created long time ago may still be producing decent profits today; however, if not improvement is planned, it is likely that the competition will move ahead, which may decrease revenues unexpectedly and dramatically. The objective of this article is to advise companies to keep innovating and moving forward. Also, companies at least should find ways to improve their processes and make them more efficient, so they can reduce operating or manufacturing costs over time. A healthy firm should always evaluate what they are currently doing in order to find areas of improvement.

INSTANT MBA: Don't Hang On To Your Past Success For Too Long
If you hang on to your past successes too long, you will run the risk of coasting along. This is a very dangerous situation, since others around you will be working to improve and move forward. Successes should be celebrated, but do not try to live on that one success. You must find a metric to measure continued success and work to drive continuous improvement.

Instant MBA: Don’t Hang On Your Past Success for Too Long I understand that success is an endearing feeling, but to base a future venture's success off of a previous venture,s outcome is just idiotic. I can see where that outcome can be interpreted wrong, but still and all; those ventures are two totally different ventures. Sometimes people let the feeling of success blind them to what is really in their face, the bigger picture. Both businessmen and non-businessmen alike need to take note to the fact that dwelling upon past success will not go any further then there if something isn’t done to keep the success flowing.

I think that it a good thing to recognize the accomplishments that your company has made in the past for you need to always be looking for the future. You should keep up with the current trends and keep allowing your business to grow and develop. This is important for your business as well as your employees.

INSTANT MBA: Don't Hang On To Your Past Success For Too Long
As leaders, we should always find ways to continue to improve our companies. When you succeed at something you should immediately find ways to improve your methods and processes to continue to succeed. There is nothing wrong with being proud of yourself for succeeding, but don't hang on to it for too long. Just because a product or service has been a great success for your company in the past doesn't mean that it doesn't need some type of improvement for future use. It is always important to continue to innovate, this way your company will always have a competitive advantage.

INSTANT MBA: Too Much Competition Can Ruin The Company
Companies that focus on growth internally, never lose the focus on success. They are aware of their competitors but concentrate on themselves. How you want to grow the business comes from inside your company. The employees have first hand knowledge of what customers want and ideas of what they need, they are the ones interacting with the customer. If companies goals are to take down the competitor, they are wasting opportunity to grow their business. They are to driven by the drive and not the ride. Competition is good for business, but should not be your driving force in success.

INSTANT MBA: Don't Hang On To Your Past Success For Too Long
Being a leader doesn't mean boasting about what happened in the past. Of course recognize what you have done, just make sure you move on from that and further the company with newer ideas. Make sure to challenge yourself to see how far you can get with the company. Keep striving for what you can do as a leader for the future. Lingering on the past will not help you move on and you will be stuck in cruise control and doing the same thing over and over making the job boring.

INSTANT MBA: Don't Hang On To Your Past Success For Too Long
I think that being a leader you should relish in your success for the moment and jump right in to thinking about how it can be successful again. It is important to surround yourself with creative people who can generate innovative ideas to help create successes ten fold. Also technology is constantly changing, so what was successful one year ago may already be antiquated today.

INSTANT MBA: Don't Hang On To Your Past Success For Too Long
If your a true leader you won't stop at your first success. You should always be looking for ways to better your business. If you just sit around and do the same thing all the time, you might make money doing it, but is that really what would make you a happy person? Personally i like change. I like trying new things and not doing the same thing everyday. Life gets boring if you do that, and the same with business.

INSTANT MBA: Don't Hang On To Your Past Success For Too Long
This is so true for my current job. We are located in the mall and a chain store just opened up in its own store. We are constantly being blamed for the lower profits that the store is making. We are being watched all around the clock and are constantly called upon to explain why business isn't picking up. We all say that is obvious that the other store has opened and stole some of our business, but that is not what our owner wants to hear. Letting go and focuses on the fact that all of our current customers love the service they receive should be what he is focusing on.

INSTANT MBA: Don't Hang On To Your Past Success For Too Long
As leaders I believe it is important to celebrate your past success but do not make that your main focus all the time. You should just use those successes as a map for your next success. We live in a world that changes rapidly especially technology so that means be ready for change and do not stay stuck in the past because that is where you will stay.

INSTANT MBA: Don't Hang On To Your Past Success For Too Long
It is important to be happy about past success but you shouldn't abandon your original goals and and just go off of the past success. You shouldn't change the way you run the business unless you absolutely have to. It's important to stay focused with what the original plan was and to stay true to what you want the company to be and what you want the business to grow into.

INSTANT MBA: Don't Hang On To Your Past Success For Too Long
I think this is an important thing to remember, especially in the context of management. When you begin celebrating your success for too long, you begin using that as a means to fall back on. “Oh we might have done this wrong, but it is okay because we have this success to fall back on.” People tend to let their success blind them from what is truly at hand, allowing people to accept failure. Accepting failure is not an option. It is important to be focused on the future. Use success as building blocks to make your company better. Make the next time around better and the next time even better. Don’t fall back on a past success as a cushion but let I act as a trampoline to bounce you back to being successful.

INSTANT MBA: Don't Hang On To Your Past Success For Too Long by This article makes a good point. Even though you may have had success in the past, you don’t want to hold on to it as if it’s successful now. You need to let your past success motivate you to be more successful in the future and not always go back to the past success. If you were to hold on to past success then you will most likely not be as successful in the future since things are changing around us daily. The best thing to is celebrate your past success but then switch you attention to becoming more successful. From a basketball perspective, I’ve heard this quote many times. After winning a game, we feel good about ourselves since we were successful but the same strategy won’t work forever so we must practice to improve.
