We've seen a couple of videos now that deal with the topic of cheating when you are removed from the situation. I agree with these videos. I especially like that this video mentioned paying with plastic and how that further removes us from the economy. I know everyone has been guilty of cheating the economy. If you have ever done an odd job for cash and didn't report it, then you are cheating the economy. I can't say that cutting a lawn for $20 is going to have an astronomical impact on the economy, but if everyone did it the results could be enormous.

I would like to think we live in a world where no one cheats or steals but that is not the case. I don't care how small stealing is stealing and its not the item its more of what is does to your moral character and reputation.

This was quite an interesting video. Of course everyone cheats to some degree at some point in life. Temptation is always there, however in the business world, I feel that honesty is always going to make for better business in all situations. It is hard to find completely honest people because it is a dog eat dog world and people are usually only looking out for themselves.

Cheating is simply unacceptable under any circumstances. What's dangerous is how a lot of people think cheating a little bit is acceptable. If everyone who thinks that way and does cheat, the total amount would be amazingly high if we add them up. The root cause of cheat is the people want things for free. When things are labeled free, then taking it is not considered cheating. However, nothing is free in this world, including cheating.

This was a good video for anyone to watch. Everyone has cheated and everyone still goes. Big businesses cheat on taxes and get away with it all the time. Cheating is found in the workplace, many businesses cheat in some way. People cheat until it crosses there morality threshold and some peoples thresholds are further than others.

Cheating the economy is almost the same as cheating your family. When we steal, we steal in small amounts at a time that add up to huge amounts over a longer peiod of time. Cheating is cheating no matter how you look at it. That why you need to figure out a person's morals before you hire or work for them.

Everyone has cheated the system. I know I have. Making the "right" ethical decision is hard to do especially when you are faced with temptation. Or when you try to rationalize unethical behavior. I want to believe and trust that people make the right choices, but we all know that's not possible.

It is surprising to me how easily people can rationalize why they think it's okay to cheat "a little." The morality threshold is an interesting idea. I do agree with the video that technology does make it much easier to cheat and takes away a little bit of the "dirtiness" of cheating. It reminds me of the argument of whether greed is ALWAYS a bad thing or if there is a right time and place for greed.

I agree that some people do not always realize they are cheating. If it is a common practice learned from friends and family, they are not going to view it as cheating. It is important to realize that what we rationalize as being okay to ourselves, is not always defined as right to others.

Yes cheating the system is something that most people do. But it is something that the government is catching up too. I'm sure in the future most payments will be digital and this sort of hiding the numbers will be harder to get away with.
