I think that this is a really good message. Take your time becoming successful, but once you are there, make sure to give back and help where you can. Like he said, the rapper was definitely viewed as something very rough. But as an entrepreneur, he can be seen as the helper.

I thought this video was pretty interesting. The views presented by this man that has made a living with music are unique in that few entrepreneurs have experienced what he has and it gives him an interesting outlook on the business world.

Because 50 cent wanted to also be an owner, he was able to input his own ideas about the product and was able to have more control. And this decision also allowed him to benefit more monetarily from the business endeavor. He has expanded his brand way beyond music and was able to profit from that but also make a difference.

Curtis Jackson decided to own part of SMJ audio. While he was traveling in Africa, he saw the houses and the harsh conditions the people are living in. So he wanted to give money to the people in Africa where he had visited to help feed them. I would keep this video to my self, because I did not find it that interesting. I knew that Curtis Jackson was a business man and he had his hand in multiple dealings.

I personally am not a fan of rap music, but I do applaud 50 cent for always wanting to give back to the community. Becoming successful can be a very complex issue, while it can also be sometimes that we ultimately just fall into. Becoming successful and well known/respected should be something that we work for, because it is ultimately more fulfilling than if we simply "become" rich over night or are born into it. Everyone wants to be successful, but some people feel as though they need to rush into things that on the outside, seem like a wonderful deal, but in the long run, fall through and fall apart. Always take your time becoming successful and don't get in a hurry. Take one thing and do it well. Once you have mastered that aspect, focus on a new aspect and master that. Eventually, you will become the master of many things, who is successful with his or her career, fulfilled because of the work ethic and success that they have attained, and the fulfillment that they receive when giving back to those in need and less fortunate. Always strive for success, but always strive at a rate that is most suitable for you and your situations.

50 Cent wanted imput in the companies he was buying stocks for, so he bought enough stock to have a say so. He then gave back to the community with some of the proceeds he has made. He is also very successful and success takes time, so be patient and success will come.

I had no clue that fifty cent was a philanthropist. I like the fact that fifty cent will stand by the product he sells which means that he cares for what he promotes. He purchased stock to sell vitamin water and without his help vitamin water wouldn't be where it is today. He has set up a deal where every time someone purchases a certain energy drink bought in the United Kingdom someone in Africa is fed a meal. He visited Africa and realized that everyone there is very poor.

TITLE- Rapper 50 Cent Thinks Like a Harvard Businessman
I have always been a 50 cent fan and I am so impressed with his knowledge and ability to communicate it. It is really nice to see someone of his status continuing to improve as an individual and help others. I am also intrigued by his ability to come from such a rough background then transform himself into a huge success while maintaining a respectful image. I hate seeing music artists and movie stars taking on a negative image once reaching success, so this is a great example of how it should be done. This video makes me realize how great people can become if given the right opportunity to take advantage of.

I would definitely share this link with friends and colleagues. Thank you Dr. Wyld! It is amazing to listen to an interview from someone who came from poverty and has come up the ranks and is successful. Curtis Jackson "50 Cents" has such an advantage in the music industry. He is in partnership with a Harvard business man but knows what the audience likes and is interested in. Curtis can give insight on how to develop a product like headphones but use the mind of a Harvard businessman to get him there. I feel in whatever business venture I get into once I graduate I can do the same. I come from a Hispanic culture and can incorporate myself into a business that is geared toward that demographic and know what they are looking for.

I enjoyed this video because it showed a different side of a person who is known famously in rap music, which doesn't exactly paint him as a business man who makes smart decisions. The fact that Curtis Jackson bought part of the company instead of just investing in it shows that he actually put thought into his decisions, instead of slapping his name on the product just for sponsorship. I respect him much more after watching this video. Many times you hear about famous people sponsoring products, or giving back to communities, and I often believe it is just for the press. I believe Curtis when he says he gave back to Africa because he truly wanted to help. He has a way of communicating his actions and business plan that I did not expect at all.

Very informative video and a testament that no matter what your background may be that you have an opportunity for success if you will only pursue your dreams, and make wise decisions. It is also great to see him sharing his wealth with others.

This video delivered a good message. Not only is 50 Cent a rapper, of which he is known as, he is also a philanthropist. He proved that anyone can become successful, even those who grew up in an impoverished area. He also said that being a billionaire isn't everything, but that success is much more important. He said that while he sees himself as becoming a billionaire in the future, that isn't what he's focused on, but instead he's focused on being successful.

It is hard to ignore the fact that Curtis Jackson is using his money to make the world a better place, regardless of how he earned it in the first place. I have such a deep rooted respect for his work ethic and entrepreneurial savvy. The importance of philanthropy is an idea that is relative to the person you are speaking with. In my opinion it is just as important as making profit. Bottom line is that you have to make money in order to give it away, and if there is one thing that Curtis Jackson is good at, it is making money.
