INSTANT MBA: No Amount Of Money Can Create A Sense Of Purpose
Even though money is an employees' expectation for many jobs, other kind of rewards might represent more important incentives to keep workers motivated. In fact, when people are personally identified with something, they will collaborate regardless of the money. I believe if organizations openly share with their employees their mission and vision, they will easily find talents who are willing to put the efforts necessary to accomplish operational and strategic goals. Therefore, managers have to encourage their employees to actively participate in the tasks of the company, and they also need to recognize employees who show hard work and commitment.

Instant MBA: No Amount of Money Can Create a Sense of Purpose Money isn’t everything, and most employees fail to understand that little detail. On the flipside of the coin, sometimes employers do not express the importance of the vision. Between the two there is a lack of communication on both parts. If the employers take the time out to sit down and explain the vision to the employees, then maybe revealing the employees dedicated to the vision will be easy. Sometimes people don’t want to work for a ‘what-if.’ I totally understand that, but me being the individual I am I would risk it. Being granted the chance to create and be a part of something great is magical, and passing it up because there is no cash incentives offered would be the decision of an idiot.

INSTANT MBA: No Amount Of Money Can Create A Sense Of Purpose
I definitely agree that money isn't everything. I'm pretty sure that many people would disagree with that, but I know from experience that when you are doing something that you love and you feel like you are a part of something great, that right there is enough. I believe it is very important to create a sense of purpose for your employees. When employees feel that they have a place in the organization this will motivate them to continue to do great things. This process should definitely begin during the hiring phase, managers should automatically share with potential employees the vision and goals of the organization so that potential employees can know if this is the right job for them. When you give employees a sense of purpose and belonging they will definitely help you achieve your organizations goals.

INSTANT MBA: No Amount Of Money Can Create A Sense Of Purpose I agree with this article. Money is a good incentive but will not create a sense of purpose with your employees. A leader must continuously hunt to find something that will bring out the best in his employees. I feel that this is a difficult objective for a leader because you never know what you might do or say that will motivate your employees therefore you must continue to encourage, reward, and simply build relations with your employees in or to hopefully help them find that sense of purpose.

INSTANT MBA: No Amount Of Money Can Create A Sense Of Purpose
In my opinion, money will only motivate someone for so long. To get truly everything out of someone, they need the sense of pride and determination to get the job done to the best of their abilities. Each employee has to want to be at work everyday and the want to make the business better. As a leader you have an obligation to give encouragement and acknowledgement to your employees. If they know that you care about their opinions, they will want to be there, and will put forth maximum effort.

INSTANT MBA: Enabling Your Employees Is Just As Important As Innovation
"The enablement process, the people enablement process should be a core process in any business that's changing, evolving, competing and growing." I love this statement. Employers need to make sure this is a core process for all employees. Go see how your employees work best and start from there. Many companies grow so big, they have no idea how the operations internally are done. Get involved in the core process. You don't have to do the job, but at least go see how the job is done. Make sure your employees are in the correct positions to utilize their talents.

INSTANT MBA: No Amount Of Money Can Create A Sense Of Purpose
I strongly agree with this statement. If your employees find purpose in their job, they will develop a passion for it and gradually increase their skill level. Purpose brings meaning and responsibility directly onto an employee and can give them a sense of pride for their job. When money becomes the sense of purpose, peoples judgment can be clouded and cause them to lose interest in their job.

INSTANT MBA: No Amount Of Money Can Create A Sense Of Purpose
I agree with the article in that you have to have your own purpose and not purchase it from somewhere else. When you go into business, it has to be for a purpose made entirely of the main people starting the business. You don't want to go astray from your own purpose and feel that you have to pay others to help you along the way.

INSTANT MBA: No Amount Of Money Can Create A Sense Of Purpose
While we are all working to earn money to afford the things we want in life, money is not an effective motivator in the work place. Individuals desire a sense of purpose in the work place. One of the most effective ways to begin making sure individuals have a sense of purpose is to involve them early in the process. If you are able to include individuals in the goal setting, they will often bring some very creative ideas.

INSTANT MBA: No Amount Of Money Can Create A Sense Of Purpose
While the world revolves around money, most people do not. We revolve around a sense of fulfillment or purpose. We love the fact that we have accomplished something and done more than what our peers have done. That sense of accomplishment drives us to accomplish more. Rewarding with money is nice, but if you can reward someone with whatever need they are really craving, life would be even more rewarding to entrepreneurs.

As a leader it is important to make sure that your employees know that they have a sense of purpose within your company. They should know that they are valued employees and they you appreciate what they bring to the company. When you create this type of work environment, your employees will be more productive. I think that creating a positive work place is one of the best things you can do for your business because when your employees love where they work they will strive harder and this will help your business be more successful.

INSTANT MBA: No Amount Of Money Can Create A Sense Of Purpose
Although I work in a small family owned business with no real goals besides providing good company service, I have still witnessed this theory. When employees are only their to collect a paycheck, they will only do the minimum required to make sure they get their check. However, when an employee, namely me, feels connected to something bigger, and feels like the outcome of any business activity effects me and not just the "guys I work for," I do much better work. I feel like most everyone would feel the same way.
