INSTANT MBA: Soft Skills Are Needed In Future Executives
Many students graduate equipped with only the technical skills of the business world, when in fact, these are not necessarily the most important skills one could have obtained. Instead, soft skills will be what sets the truly successful apart from the rest, and these come only through experience. Anyone can be taught the technical aspects of business, but those that can master the soft skills will be the ones that reap true success in the long run.

It is extremely crucial to hire people for your business that you can deem trustworthy. Having trust in your employees and giving them the opportunity to utilize their training and knowledge will only allow you to take care of other objectives that need to be addressed in the business. You, as an owner, cannot do every job and think the business will run successfully. In order for your employees to become trustworthy, you must give them the opportunity to show their work ethic through work performance.

INSTANT MBA: Soft Skills Are Needed In Future Executives
Most people who graduate from college have good technical skills. One thing a lot of college graduates lack is "soft skills." Soft skills are considered to be good communication and cross-culture intelligence. Many companies like for their employees to have soft skills and encourage them to learn to have soft skills. Some people acquire soft skills through experience while others take classes to learn how to have soft skills.

INSTANT MBA: Soft Skills Are Needed In Future Executives
This article definitely holds some truth. With the growing globalization around the country, cross cultural skills are definitely something of importance. Communication can be a huge problem if you are not fluent in foreign languages or other things that may be necessary to communicate with the people you want to do business with globally. It's best to try and reach out for some of these things on your own since the company will no longer offer to help get you trained.

INSTANT MBA: Soft Skills Are Needed In Future Executives
Really important article. These soft skill are becoming more and more important, and unfortunately, as a society we are becoming less and less social. There’s not a day that goes by when I look up and EVERYONE is on his or her phones. No one bothers to even look up anymore. It’s kind of sad really. You may be the smartest person in the world, but if you don’t have soft/social skills, you’re never going to get the job you’ve always wanted.

INSTANT MBA: Soft Skills Are Needed In Future Executives
Love this article! Too many people today think that a degree is everything. I do believe that while you need a degree to get a great job, you also need that real life experience. It blows my mind that there are people that graduate from college having never held a job. I have grown a lot as a person and have gained so many skills and great leadership attributes because of the experience of my job, not because of the classes I take. Education is important, but the 'soft skills' are learned through experience and that is what people are going to begin to look for in higher up positions.

INSTANT MBA: Soft Skills Are Needed In Future Executives
I agree that their are things in management that you cannot learn in the classroom. Certain skills have to be learned on the job through experience. I think it's important that you actually get a job in the manager field before you actually decide whether or not you want to go into management. It really is a lot different than you'd think and their are things you need to develop on the job that you can't get from the classroom.

INSTANT MBA: Soft Skills Are Needed In Future Executives
To be a great manager you must hone the craft of effective communication and have great people skills. I feel like the soft skills are almost more important than the technical skills in most cases because if you are too difficult to work for or with you even if you are the best at the technical side you will be replaced eventually. One good thing for students is you can learn soft skills in your every day experiences as well as in the workplace. We know these skills are essential for becoming successful so we should make learning those skills as well. It will definitely set you apart in the work place.

INSTANT MBA: Soft Skills Are Needed In Future Executives
Communication is key, not only in personal relationships, but also in business relationships. Although communication skills, or "soft skills" as the article explains them, can't necessarily be taught, they are some of the most important skills that can be learned if they don't come naturally to you. These type of skills only come with experience, hence why the most valuable employees are those with the most experience.

INSTANT MBA: Soft Skills Are Needed In Future Executives
That is a good point that effective communication skills are needed to implement ideas and properly manage employees. But this skill is often hard for people to learn if it doesn't come naturally to them and you can only learn it with experience. These soft skills are not taught its something you either have or you don't. They say experience is the best teacher but this is something instinctual.

INSTANT MBA: Soft Skills Are Needed In Future Executives
I agree that soft skills are not learned in school. In fact, I believe we are losing opportunities to learn these skills in our everyday lives. We don’t talk, we text. Rather than make transactions face-to-face, we go to our computers. Our employers may provide opportunities for us to learn new software, but when do we ever have continuing education related to interpersonal skills? Perhaps these skills are even more essential to employees and managers than computer skills.

INSTANT MBA: Soft Skills Are Needed In Future Executives Schools do teach you all the technical skills needed to do the job but do not teach you the soft skills. It is not until you are put on the job that you experience different things to make you a better worker. I can agree that working and going to school worked best for me because I am able to have technical skill and soft skills at the same time which makes me a better canidate for hire.

Before making huge decisions within your company make sure you have a in stone answer. Do not assume. Assumptions can lead to huge downfall in the company. Let this be a lesson that everyone can learn from Kaplan. In this article Kaplan makes a great statement that he credits the majority of his worst business decisions to faulty assumptions and says the biggest danger lies in not realizing the decision is based on an assumption in the first place.

Having soft skills is becoming more essential in the business world. Since you don’t necessarily learn these skills in school, you may just have to learn from experience or from research. It is all up to you when it comes to learning these skills because companies do not feel like it their responsibility to inform you. For example, before going to have a meeting with someone in a different country with a different culture, learn the aesthetics in that culture. Brush up on your soft skills before working in a business going global.
