I have only been in business 6 years and I already know it is literally all about who you know... Especially in sales of products or services it is all about relationships. Trying to sell a product to a stranger is so difficult because he already has a relationship he is using for your product or service.

INSTANT MBA: To Better Sell Products, First Build Relationships
In order for customers to want to buy your products or services, it is important to first establish a trusting buyer-seller relationship. Although we have great quality meals at Raising Canes, it is still necessary for my General Manager to get out into the community and market our products through community involvement. By being an active member of the community, and always doing what we can to give back, our customer base increases. This increase is due to the relationship we have formed with our community, because customers prefer a business they feel like they can trust and essentially be neighbors with.

Mistakes can be cost worthy when trying to establish or run a successful business. It is important as a business owner to know when you have made a mistake and learn how to prevent it from happening on a regular basis. The smaller the business, the less opportunities it has to recover from mistakes due to limited amounted of funds available. The important thing is to know that you will make mistakes as a business owner, but understanding and recovering from them will determine how successful you can become a as a business owner.

INSTANT MBA: To Better Sell Products, First Build Relationships
Selling products is all about building relationships with customers. If you want a loyal customer then treat them right and give them what they want. For example, if you own a restaurant then you have to make sure your restaurant is maintained well. You should make sure your waiters and waitresses are attentive and nice to customers, the cooks are making sure the food taste good and is being brought out in a timely manner, and the restaurant has a clean atmosphere. If you see repeat customers then you should acknowledge them and thank them for coming eat at your restaurant. If you keep your customers happy then your business will succeed.

INSTANT MBA: To Better Sell Products, First Build Relationships
I would have to agree with this article about building relationships. When someone feels like another number in your list of clients, they may not give you the time of day. Building relationships in business can ensure the owner or manager gives you the opportunity to make your pitch. Majority of the time if the product or service is worthy, you will make a deal because the client feels he or she can trust you.

Good article and I 100% agree. When I owned my business I would constantly have sales reps from multiple companies knocking on my door. Oddly enough, the reps that got my business weren’t the one’s with the lowest prices on products. Above anything else, I picked the reps that I clicked with the most and who I though I could trust. They had my business for 4+ years and I never regretted choosing their companies.

INSTANT MBA: To Better Sell Products, First Build Relationships
Building a relationship with customers can create loyalty as well as trust and credibility in your business or product. When you take the time to know who you are dealing with, what they like and don't like, and how you can make their experience great, it makes the customer feel special and they will always come back to you. When the customer feels as though they are special, and that you care about them as person, they will come back to buy from you, and trust your products.

INSTANT MBA: To Better Sell Products, First Build Relationships
This article gives good advice on selling your product. In the beginning of the selling process it's more important to focus on the relationship you have with fellow corporations, than it is to focus on your actual product. When those business think back on your transaction, they will remember the relationship you formed with them and it's that relationship that will keep them coming back.

INSTANT MBA: To Better Sell Products, First Build Relationships
I think once you have a build a relationship with a stakeholder, be it customer, vendor, or employee it is like adding another member in your army. They will trust you and turn to you when here is a problem that you will be able to fix for them with your product or services. Then if you continue to build the relationship that person will tell his/her friends about you. The more people that know you are a great person will bring in more revenue for your company.

Not only is it important to build relationships with your clients or customers, but it's also very important to build relationships with your employees and coworkers. After all, relations are the most important thing in business, and as the old saying goes "it's not what you know, it's who you know." In order to get the word out there about your product or service, you have to build relations, trust, and credibility.

INSTANT MBA: To Better Sell Products, First Build Relationships
Building relationships with people is one of the most important things that you can do in business. While it is very important that the product or service that you are looking to sell has quality and would be a desirable product or service to start with, it is important to build relationships. Once you find that common passion, stay updated on relevant information and forward it on with a personal note. Sharing knowledge and seeking feedback are good ways to build a relationship

INSTANT MBA: To Better Sell Products, First Build Relationships
It has always been important to me to form relationships with those at the top of the agencies to which I am assigned. It is not uncommon in my work to be removed from one assigned agency and given another with little notice. With the little notice we are given, it is key to have the person taking over my agency to meet with the people you know from there, so the analyst can be brought into a good rapport with which you were involved. When I move on, I also know that the agency head will vouch for me when it comes to my team management as well as my new agency’s management.

Instant MBA: To Sell Better Products, First Build Relationships
I believe people would rather buy a product from someone that they feel that they know and can trust. The only way those things can happen is if you build a relationship with those people. I know first hand that relationships is the first step in sell a product because when I used to wash cars on the side for extra income the people that knew me let me wash their cars. So when I decided to give my side business to my friend she ended up losing my clients because they did not know her at all. That is why I know that relationships are important in a business.
