INSTANT MBA: Use Elegance To Achieve Maximum Impact With Minimum Means
I believe it is possible to run a successful business with few employees. If a company employs a few employees that are able to get all the work done then that is great. It will help the company because they won't have to pay as much for salaries and it will help them be more elegant. A company should only have as many employees and do only what it take to keep the business running well. In business, I think it is important to have as little as possible.

I agree small businesses are more elegant than big businesses because they are simple. Small businesses make it easy to know their customers information. they focus on the important stuff. Big businesses can't keep up. they so focus on growing the employee number and building that they can't see that's slowing them down. think about it. if you hire a lot of people, don't you need to take time out to train them. Big businesses get so caught up in growing that they forget the big picture, growing in customers, and giving them their every demand.

INSTANT MBA: Use Elegance To Achieve Maximum Impact With Minimum Means
I enjoyed reading May's point of view. He spoke on companies being elegant. He mentioned two questions leaders should ask. What would my employees like me to stop doing? What would my competitors hate for me to stop doing? Those are two interesting question that makes me think of employee and competitor demand. If leaders can improve in these areas it would help their company be more efficient without much monetary costs.

The managers at my place of employment definitely practice this. Some of the employees are able to do the work of 1.5 or even 2 people. Management has noticed this and made a few cut backs to the number of employees that they hire. This does cause a lot of stress during busy hours, but management makes up for it by giving us higher pay to compensate us doing more work. They get the maximum output they desire with the minimum labor requirements.

INSTANT MBA: Use Elegance To Achieve Maximum Impact With Minimum Means
I like this article a lot because it says a lot without saying much. People sometimes think that complicating a business will make it better than it already is. I feel if a business can use limited resources to achieve greater goals for their business then they can master any task given to them.

I agree and one of my favorite success stories that I have seen in my lifetime, Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers, proves this point very well. Instead of having an overbearing amount of options and trying to be a jack of all trades, it is easier to pick the one thing you do better than anyone else and just do it. Why try to sell a bunch of mediocre trash that people won't be impressed with when you can do one thing so well that you are the choice whenever the need arises. Raising Cane's has managed to become the chicken empire by not being bogged down with mediocre burgers and alright chicken and maybe some generic trash tacos, but focusing entirely on one chicken entree. It is so simple a customer almost can't leave getting something other than what they ordered and if your employees are focused on making one product perfectly all day instead of trying to customize a menu with twenty items on it, they perform stronger too.

In today's world everyone expects and thrives on simplicity. The easier things are to access and use the better. That's why a company should focus on some of the simplistic things about their business before trying to expand into something else. It's definitely a great idea and smart approach if you want to keep your business afloat.

INSTANT MBA:Use Elegance To Achieve Maximum Impact With Minimum Means
Sometimes being simple and elegant is best for a company. Sometimes being simple can eliminate chaos in a work force. Whenever you get too advanced of technology and all these other unnecessary things it sort of causes chaos on its on without anybody even trying anything. Also, when a problem does arise you don't have all this stuff to sort through. Keeping things simple can make the problems easier to detect which in turn means you could possibly catch the problem before it becomes major.

Matthew May makes good points on big and small businesses. Starting with the big, a big company should stay focused on the goals defined in the business plan and not get to large to quick. Growing to fast can put you in trouble and possible sink. With a small business, smaller businesses have fewer employees and can feel change or treats more quickly. Learning to adjust to these treats can help you maintain a profitable business.

INSTANT MBA: Use Elegance To Achieve Maximum Impact With Minimum Means
The representation of Google in this article hits the nail on the head. Google does not have some elaborate web page with tons of moving parts. It is a simple interface with access to anything on the web. Companies should use this same approach in their business, sometimes the simple approach will attract far more customers than the complex approach.

Sometimes elegant leadership involves scaling back. "Elegance is the ability to achieve the maximum effect or impact through the minimum means. One of the best examples is the Google interface. There's a box; there's a lot of white space; you enter a term and search for it." Keeping things simple and plain can be a good thing. Get rid of anything that complicates an organization or how its people work. Small companies tend to be much more elegant than large companies, because they are simple, agile, and resourceful, with a clear focus.

Instant MBA: Use Elegance To Achieve Maximum Impact With Minimum Means I agree with this article completely because it is every relatable. Employees should always want feedback whether it is good or bad. Feedback always an employee or manager improve in their work area or improve something that they are lacking. Even in school we do surveys to tell our professors how they are doing. What we like and what we didn’t like. These tools help everyone is some kind of way.

Sometimes being simple and elegant is best for a company. If you become too complicated and elaborate in your organization than you may cause more problems than solutions. Sometimes a basic system will be easy to follow so new employees and pick up once they start.
