INSTANT MBA: Give Your Employees More Time To Do What They're Actually Good At
I agree with this article because everyone enjoys doing things they are good at. The most positive working environment is the work force that makes employees feel that they aren't actually working, they are actually just doing things they love. Whenever people are doing things they are good at and getting noticed for it, then they continue to want to keep doing more and more of it. It is understandable that all employees can't JUST do what they are good at; their are jobs that require you to do things that you might not necessarily like to do. But always letting an employee get a chance to do the fun things at times, sort of gives that employee a small energy boost.

This is an interesting point made. Have your employees do what they are good at, instead of trying to move them around and do things that aren't their strengths. Dolgin talks about how he focuses on hiring people who are passionate about what they do and absolutely great at that particular function. He says,"Now I could out-execute [my competitors] because my executors would be the best people at executing, and they would be spending 90 percent of their time executing and not managing." Letting your employees have more time doing the things they are good at will benefit your business. Make sure you hire people in each area of your company who are good at that particular area.

INSTANT MBA: Give Your Employees More Time To Do What They're Actually Good At
Upon hiring employees, it is the managers job to distinguish their strengths and weaknesses and delegate tasks accordingly. If employees are passionate about what they are doing and are actually really good at that particular function, than there is less need for management. Employees perform at their highest potential and can execute job duties flawlessly when they are enjoying their job. Sometime when people are promoted, they often move from one department in which they were highly skilled onto another department that they may have less experience in. If employees aren't fulfilling their objectives, maybe they would be better doing another job. Be flexible with employees until you find where everyone contributes the most.

73 INSTANT MBA: Give Your Employees More Time To Do What They're Actually Good At
If an employee thrives in a certain aspect at work, give them more things to do related to that. If they are fantastic at analyzing data and finding ways to cut costs, let them do more of that. Especially if that is something they enjoy doing. People who love what they do, will do a better job at it. Don’t give an employee a task they hate to do and they have failed at it in the past. Give them something they have proven they can do well.
