INSTANT MBA: Don't Hype Up Your Product Until It's Perfect
You should spend more time making sure that your product is perfect rather than having your name put out there. If your product is not good it will ruin your reputation. My opinion is spend time letting people try your product and see where you need improvement at before spending a lot of money on advertising.

INSTANT MBA: Don't Hype Up Your Product Until It's Perfect
I think a lot of these business leaders that are interviewed for these articles contradict each other, but still have valid points. In this article Tara Hunt is advising to wait for the perfect product before going full force into marketing, but in other articles they discuss over selling yourself even though you have not achieved the greatness that you are conveying to the public. I feel like having a perfect product before hitting the market is more important, but over selling yourself seems somewhat viable as well.

Many people like to talk about how great there product is, but it really is terrible. Make your product perfect before selling it. Selling a terrible product is terrible for your company. It will make people think that your product is no good. You want people to use your product, so this is why you have to wait until its perfect before trying to sell it.

Before you focus on getting your name out in the in world, you have to make sure your product is practically perfect. You want your product to be popular with everyone and you want everyone to love it so that’s even more reason to focus on perfecting your product. You want people to say “Oh this app is awesome!” not “Wow this app sucks”. You want to have a good reputation to spread.

Instant MBA: Don’t Hype about Your Product until It’s Perfect
I'm not too sure that I agree with this article. I believe that getting the word out about your product is the best way to get business. Even if it isn't and it's complete this is still best to get your product out and people using it. What I do agree with from this article is when Tara said "A great product that people love will market itself and any noise you make beyond it just appoints the growth naturally." A customer will always give references.

INSTANT MBA: Don't Hype Up Your Product Until It's Perfect
Tara's article got me to thinking about my brother and sis-in-law's company, an event planning company, that they started about 2 years ago. Both of them work full time jobs, but they decided they wanted to go into business for themselves, also. They were into party planning for the family and my brother was really into his sound system and computers. 'They consolidated their talents/loves and started the event planning company.......very slowly. They did not spend much on marketing at all, but instead asked each customer to critique and evaluate their services on line, on their webpage, and on their Facebook page. Since then, their business has grown incredibly, simply due to customer reviews and word of mouth. So, Tara is right when she says that doing a great jobs and having customers speak highly of your business will do just as much, if not more, for the success of your business.

There is definitly importance in making sure that you are offering nothing but the best. If this is the case then the product or service should speak for itself and will gather a customer base on the fact that it is a superior product. Don't focus on trying to get the product's name out there without knowing for sure that it is the best version. If you focus so hard on trying to get the product out it may hinder other parts of your operation. If this is the case it could have a big effect on your business.

INSTANT MBA: Don't Hype Up Your Product Until It's Perfect
When trying to hype a product it is best to let the word spread about the product by word of mouth. I agree that most time should be dedicated to improving the product rather than trying to spread the word about it. Let the consumers spread the word for you so the public is somewhat familiar with your product's existence. When your product comes out and after you have perfected it the public will either hate or love your product. For example, when new cell phones are made the company has the phone on every web site but the are not promoting it, there are rumors and other things about the phone. This is getting the customer prepared for the phones and this gives the cell phone companies a chance to perfect their product while the word is spreading about it.

INSTANT MBA: Don't Hype Up Your Product Until It's Perfect
A product that is a truly great product markets itself. It can be known as a cash cow. Every company should have a goal of producing the best product that it can. If you focus more on profits and less on quality, you can end up producing a product that is not so great and wont last in the marketplace. Word of mouth can be a company's best friend or worst enemy. If someone has a bad experience with something, facts say that they will tell 10 people. That can ruin a brands reputation. You do not want to hype up and market your product until it is perfect, like the article by Tara Hunt suggest.

Instant MBA: Don’t Hype Up Your Product Until It’s Perfect I agree with this article because company should perfect their product or company before they try to expand it all over. If they focus more on getting their name out there than perfecting their company than they product wont survive in the market. Companies should make sure they have a solid product and test it in a certain market before they try to expand it because a lot of time and money will be wasted if the right things aren’t invested properly in the product.

In the past, I had a marketing teacher tell us that the stronger a product is, the less you should spend on advertising. I believe this correlates with the article. When you have a great product, it will almost market itself. This reason is why the article says it is important to not rush into getting word out there for people to buy your product. It's easy to become excited about your new product/service and to tell everyone about it, however I believe that patience is a great virtue that can be deeply beneficial in these circumstances.

Becoming a success in almost any business you need to focus on your product and make it the best you can. Some businesses can squeeze by this by making a product that will fail or not last as long but the same usually goes for the business itself. Putting out a good product is important to your company and is crucial for you to get it right the first time and like the article said focus on your product and let the customers spread the word.

INSTANT MBA: Don't Hype Up Your Product Until It's Perfect
Far too many companies these days focus more on marketing their products rather than perfecting it. Getting the product out there is a very important aspect of sales however, pushing an unfinished product can be very detrimental. Imagine if facebook launched before they had perfected the site and it never rose to what it is now because people never gave it a second chance.

INSTANT MBA: Don't Hype Up Your Product Until It's Perfect
You never want to hype up your product until it is ready and completely perfect. You want to make sure that your product doesn't get a bad wrap before it is really ready. If you hype it up and people aren't happy they will talk about it and take that hype away and talk bad about your product. So make sure it is perfect and ready because great reviews and good word of mouth is essential.

Tara Hunt says a great product that people love, will market itself and any noise you make beyond that just supports the growth naturally. If you can make a great product and customers love it, all the noise about how great it is will come behind it. All the customers that love will basically market the product for you. But the most important thing is to make that great product which may take money and time.
