INSTANT MBA: Don't Hype Up Your Product Until It's Perfect
This link seems to be directly referring to the whole issue in America today with rampant new "miracle" products. Whether they be medicinal, recreational, educational, or just plain odd, every other commercial on the radio and the TV is for some new thing that will supposedly cure all your ails. The problem with all this is that all it is, is a bunch of useless noise. The product is cheap and doesn't really work that well, and there is a strange man literally yelling at you from the TV. Instead of the money they spent hiring that weird guy and buying up every second of advertisement on some channel, why didn't they spend a little extra time on their product? Then, maybe it would actually work and the commercials wouldn'y have to be so in your face all the time.

INSTANT MBA: Don't Hype Up Your Product Until It's Perfect
This article is very interesting. I agree that you do not want to hype up your product until it is perfect. You could actually pull from the product development if you spend too much effort trying to hype up the product. Also when you have a great product, it will promote itself. I know that personally when I purchase a great product or service, I will do a lot to promote it as a customer. This testimonial from a customer will go much farther than any promotion from the producer.

I do agree that it’s important to make sure that the product you are trying to sell is ‘perfect’, but on the other hand, I also feel like hyping up consumers about the product is important. I feel that should be more of a reason to make SURE that the product is perfect with no flaws, because of the reputation that was built upon ‘hear say’. There is a slight chance that you may sink, but if you make it your duty NOT to, then you won’t.In business your reputation is crucial to the survival of your business. It is important to make sure that you product is perfect before you launch it or try and sell it to the public. If you do not ensure that your product is complete, then you could launch and un finished product and potential destroy your business. I liked how the article said that a great product will sell itself.

I agree with this article to an extent. It would depend on what stage of the product life cycle the product is in. Yes a good product will market itself but you must beat the streets to let people know that this product exists. You can over market a product, sure. However, I am a firm believer in marketing tactics. Look at all the big players out there, you know of them because they come to you.

INSTANT MBA: Don't Hype Up Your Product Until It's Perfect
A company should definitely make sure most of the kinks are worked out before marketing a product or service, but sometimes this is hard to do until the product or service is out. It's true that word of mouth is one of the best ways to sell a product or service. If the product or service being sold is good, it will become a hit without a lot of talking it up. Having a good product or service will speak for itself when the time comes to market and sell.

INSTANT MBA: Don't Hype Up Your Product Until It's Perfect
I think this article offers critical advice for any company producing a new product. Consumers are now well informed about the products they are spending their money on. Most consumers will do quick Google search before buying products to read the reviews and most times if the reviews are majority negative they wont buy it. One poor product can ruin a company's life time of great work or can tarnish a new brand forever.

INSTANT MBA: Don't Hype Up Your Product Until It's Perfect
If you are trying to market a new product then don't worry about trying to market the product before it is out. When the product is out, if it is a good product then it will get advertised by word of mouth. If you spend too much time on trying to market your product then you are losing time trying to make your product the best it can be. Also, advertising cost money so you can save money by not advertising your product as much before your product is perfect. If you advertise a new product make sure your product meets the expectation your advertisement sells.

INSTANT MBA: Don't Hype Up Your Product Until It's Perfect I agree with this article. Businesses should not push their product before it is perfect. I remember when the xbox360 was coming out it was labeled as being the best gaming system of all time. After a few months go by lot of unsatisfied customers complained about the red ring of death. I believe companies should wait till they are sure that their product will be effective and live up to its name.

INSTANT MBA: Don't Hype Up Your Product Until It's Perfect
This article is great! This reminds me of direct selling, sometimes I feel as though people have to direct sell in order to pursuade someone to buy a certain product. Honestly, if a product is good enough and actually works, it is going to sell itself. This doesn't just happen in that market, but in others as well. People are always going to recommend good products to their friends whether it be makeup, food, drinks, events, places to shop etc. The product and way the business is ran is what ultimately going to being you the money, not the way that it is marketed or how much is spent on marketing. Make sure you have the right product and everything perfect before trying to sell your business.

INSTANT MBA: Don't Hype Up Your Product Until It's Perfect
Marketing a product won't do anything unless the quality of the product can back up the hype. If your product still has kinks and imperfections that you are trying to work out, don't say your product is the "best of the best" because you will begin to lose credibility. Marketing is only good from a trustworthy source, which in the beginning, is usually best from your customers who have tested your product.

INSTANT MBA: Don't Hype Up Your Product Until It's Perfect
I agree with this article. You shouldn't begin marketing your product until all the kinks have been worked out. You don't want to market a product that is not 100% perfect because when problems occur, word will get around. The best and most beneficial form of marketing is word of mouth. When people get talking about your product, you want it to be good things. If your product still has problems, you don't want to waste the word of mouth marketing on the problems your product has. You don't want your products image to be tainted because its much harder to change people's minds about a product than it is to get them to try a product in the first place. This is why in the beginning stages of your business you should focus all of your efforts on perfecting your product instead of marketing a bunch.

INSTANT MBA: Don't Hype Up Your Product Until It's Perfect
Many companies try to market a product hard before it is competitive in the market it is entering. If the product or service is not up to par, the word-of-mouth advertising will not be what the company was expecting. So before a business owner tries to market a product hard, he needs to try to make the product as close to where he wants it to be as possible, market the product slightly while improving the product, and when the product is where the company expects it to be, push advertising really hard.

INSTANT MBA: Don't Hype Up Your Product Until It's Perfect
You can have the best marketing but if the product is no good than the customer will never by it again. Spend time to prefect your product or craft then market it. A great quote in the article "Every company wants to get to traction and getting to traction requires spreading the word, but if the word spread is "that app sucks," it will damage your reputation far more than waiting a few months until you can show something magical." You can only make a first impression once.
