INSTANT MBA: Mark Cuban Says 'It's Not About Money Or Connections'
We should not be afraid of failure. On the contrary, we should understand that failing makes us learn from our mistakes and we can take advantage of that knowledge to perform better next time. There will always be risks associated with decisions and challenges in not just a business environment but also in every aspect of our lives; however, it is up to us to overcome obstacles and take failure as a learning experience. It is proven that people who give up after failing are not capable of obtaining great accomplishments; in fact, almost everyone must go through some failure experiences before achieving success.

INSTANT MBA: Mark Cuban Says 'It's Not About Money Or Connections'
I love Mark Cuban and his success story. He was such a driven person who wasn’t afraid to fail at something to learn to be great at it. I struggle the fear of failure and I have recently realized if I don’t overcome this it, it will hold me back in my career. We all have been taught in finance 381 that high risk equals high returns in stocks. The same idea has been applied to business and has proven time after time to be true. It doesn’t matter how many times you fail once you’ve created success. Plus each failure is a lesson of what not to do when you finally do have success.

Alt Link 6: INSTANT MBA: Know What Your Costumer Wants Even Before They Do
Understanding marketing is key to being successful in any industry. Knowing your customers well enough that you can tailor your products to fit their needs and wants will ensure success. The best part is when a customer is looking for something, it will stick out in their minds if your product was exactly what they were looking for with out them even realizing it.

INSTANT MBA: Mark Cuban Says 'It's Not About Money Or Connections'
Throughout your whole career, hard work will always pay off. But eventually, hard work must be mixed with money and connections if you want to keep climbing the ladder. If you do not have any connections within an organization, who is going to bring your name up in conversation to help you get that job that you really want? I do not mean bribing, but if there are plenty of applicants who work just as hard as you do, you need someone to help keep your name in the back of the employer’s mind. If we talk in reference to Michael Jordan, yes, he did work his way to the top, but his connections along with his hard work have allowed him to be on the team of his choice during his career. His connections have also helped him bargain for the money that he has made. David Beckham, a well known soccer star has materialized the same way. His hard work, dedication, and skills have allowed him to play soccer his whole life. He is currently still fighting to play on Major League Soccer teams despite his old age in "soccer years." His connections have helped him tremendously. In conclusion, life is not about money and connections, but it when it comes to the work aspect of life, money and connections can help you to go farther than what you every expected.

INSTANT MBA: Mark Cuban Says 'It's Not About Money Or Connections'
Having a lot of money and having connections in life is good but it shouldn't be what makes you. You have to go out in the world and experience things for yourself. Failure is a part of life, and how you react to that failure will show what type of person you are. It is okay to try and fail, as long as you keep learning from the mistakes you make. That is the only way you will grow in life. Thomas Edison tried and failed many times at inventing the light bulb, but he only needed to know one way to make it work. Use your failures as motivation to keep going and work harder.

This one is very similar to link of the day #2, and with good reason. Outworking the competition is so important that it can't be stressed enough. it also introduces the concept of risk management very briefly. fear of failure and risk can be paralyzing and keep you from working toward your long term goals. My riskiest venture to date has been my new product, a SIRT pistol training course. The initial capital investment literally doubles my hard assets, but the potential for profit is great enough that in my mind, the risk with worth the reward. That risk is mitigated by the fact that I am willing to outwork and out-learn everyone else by adopting new technologies and innovations in my training firm.

INSTANT MBA: Mark Cuban Says 'It's Not About Money Or Connections' I always hear people saying, "It's not what you know, it's who you know." This article backs up my disagreement with this saying. If it was all about who we know half of us wouldn't be in school trying to learn as much as we can so we will be able to able the knowledge in the real world. If someone is willing to learn and work to get where they want to be, they will get there. I can't stress this enough, hard work and dedication is the key to success. No road to success is smooth. You are going to encounter potholes and road work but just keep on pushing. Failing a task doesn't mean your journey is over, it just means you need to learn from your mistakes and do better. I know I am the type to try something over and over again until I master it. It's all about learning as much as you can and working as hard as you can . If you happen to fall, pick yourself up and keep moving.

INSTANT MBA: Mark Cuban Says 'It's Not About Money Or Connections'
This is a GREAT article. Personally I would have never gone to college if it weren’t for life kicking me around a little. Unfortunately, I had to learn that education is extremely important the hard way, but now I appreciate my education more now than I ever have. Because of my faults, I will overcome.

INSTANT MBA: Know What Your Costumer Wants Even Before They Do
Kenneth Cole is great at given consumers what they "think" they want. He is always a step ahead of the fashion world, yet on the right playing field. Providing customers with what they want is good, but to give it to them before they know they want it, is important. This will set up apart from other companies and keep the customer coming back for that added benefit.

INSTANT MBA: Mark Cuban Says 'It's Not About Money Or Connections'
I have to agree with outworking and out learning your opponents in the business world. Of all that I have done at my job, I have been offered positions that focus on what I have worked so hard on. This goes with the expression of 'first one in, last one out'. Failing should not be something to be frowned upon, but to be rewarded as a new way of thinking. Instead of punishing yourself because of failure, reward yourself with a new plan of action and a way to work around your faults and see your prize at the end of the tunnel.

INSTANT MBA: Mark Cuban Says "It's Not About Money Or Connections'
I love that Mark Cuban used Michael Jordan as an example or hard work and dedication! I think that any person in the business world, or on any career path can outwork and out learn any person who has the right connections or more money than God. It is always nice to network, and have those connections, but when it comes down to it, if someone works hard enough and isn't afraid of failure, they can work themselves into any position their heart desires.

INSTANT MBA: Mark Cuban Says 'It's Not About Money Or Connections'
I may not be the biggest Mark Cuban supporter but I do agree with what he says in this article. I truly believe that the fastest way to any kind of success is to be the hardest worker and the one who is willing to put the extra time in to learn everything you need to. This is how I've always approached my work and it has never affected me in a negative way. If you show that you can outwork and out-hustle everybody else then it will always give you an advantage with anything that you're trying to accomplish in life.

INSTANT MBA: Mark Cuban Says 'It's Not About Money Or Connections'
I partially agree with this article. While it certainly helps to out work everyone, it also helps to know a few people as well. My situations has helped a lot because I've been offered a few jobs because of the people I know and I've also been offered a few jobs because of working hard. So yes working hard does wonders but if you decide to go into a career that is very competitive then it definitely helps to know someone.

Instant MBA: Mark Cuban Says ‘It’s not about money or connections’
This article is definitely a must read for anyone who is striving for success. In this day and age, most people feel like it’s all about whom you may know rather what you know. If any of that were true, then most of us wouldn’t be in college or attending high school. In order for us to get where we desire to be we have to humble ourselves for the good, the bad and the ugly. There is no doubt in my mind that I will in fact fail at certain things I try, but what matters the most to me is picking myself up and trying again. Relying on “who you know” to get a job is really ballistic, only because he/she will always have power over you. Why not work for it? That way when the right job does come your way and you do get it, there will be no regrets. Sometimes in life things seem less difficult if the easy road is taken, but in this particular situation taking the high road and working towards what you want is the best decision.
