Keeping employees focused means keeping them interested in what they are doing. If you keep them doing the same type of monotonous work every day they are going to lose motivation. From experience i’ve realized that I do a lot better when I know that i’m working towards something relevant instead of stuff hat can be left alone.

INSTANT MBA: Not Everything On Your Plate Needs To Be There
Sometimes there maybe times when you seem overwhelmed or too much is on your plate and you must get everything done in a certain amount of time but not everything has to be done. First you should look at the more important things and take care of those things, then maybe get to the other smaller things if needed. Most importantly you should reevaluate your list of things to do. You may not have to accomplish everything on your plate.

Not Everything On Your Plate Needs To Be There
There is a reason for the saying "there's too much on my plate." Some things really do not need be there. At times we think stress is from outside happenings and blame them when really, we do it to ourselves without realizing. We have to know what we can handle and if it truly is needed.

To sum up this article, Russell Bishop explain why we take upon so many things and how we have to let go. We get so use to having to do this or that but, why. Are they useful or contrary to daily living? When one chooses to go in a different direction and remove some of the hindrance of things that slowed them down before, a weight is lifted. I feel like I needed to read this article because it taught me that it's okay to let go. I'm trying to do so many things and fulfill the shoes of my mom that it stresses me out.

INSTANT MBA: Not Everything On Your Plate Needs to Be There
Sometimes we get sidetracked on the things that really matter. We have so much on our plate that we don't prioritize and do the things first that actually mean something. This is my example that I thought of when reading this article and it was the thought of making my bed. Every morning we wake up and we make our beds. Well when you think about it, why do we do it? Making your bed every morning is something we do for 15 min every morning that is unnecessary because every night we get back in it to mess it up once again. That is 15 minutes you could be using to do something more productive with that time. On my plate that would be one side that I could remove from my plate, but now I'm just so used to making it every morning that it would feel completely weird not to do it.

INSTANT MBA: Not Everything On Your Plate Needs To Be There When owning a business, it is very easy to become overwhelmed. Like the author says not everything on your plate needs to be there. Many people are doing to much and it is not adding value to the company. Only do what you can do and the rest make someone else do it.

INSTANT MBA: Not Everything On Your Plate Needs To Be There
Having too many things to do can have a huge impact on employees and even leaders. Individuals often keep so many things on their list of things to do that they forget how much they actually have. They will often leave things on there that really do not even need to be completed. By removing a lot of these meaningless things, the stress level can be reduced greatly. If a leader can reduce the stress level in the company, that leader can more easily convince employees to jump on board with an idea.

INSTANT MBA: Not Everything On Your Plate Needs To Be There
I agree for the most part with this article. It is important to make sure that you are focused on necessary tasks, but I also feel that it is important to make sure that your employees do the same. I feel its important to delegate tasks to employees that are most efficient at the specific task and to only take on tasks myself that I feel are important enough to warrant me doing them myself. It is not to be lazy, but employees feel undervalued if you give them nothing but menial tasks to perform.

INSTANT MBA: Not Everything On Your Plate Needs To Be There
To reduce the amount of work load and stress, it is important to revise your to-do list and erase the tasks that are less meaningful. Dwelling over minute tasks or spending too much time on certain activities can result in wasted time and energy. Focus on the most important things that need to be done then move on to the next thing. Sometimes reducing an activity to once a week instead of daily can open up a window of time to accomplish something else. I think this article was helpful in providing the three questions to ask yourself when you become overwhelmed and have too much on your plate.

INSTANT MBA: Not Everything On Your Plate Needs To Be There This is nothing but the whole truth we do things because we are used to do not because they are important. It is important to always evaluate your work and work of your employees. If at all they are not adding values to the company then it maybe a time to stop doing those activities and find something else. As an employee, it is very crucial to evaluate the value of your work in an organisation by asking yourself question such as what will happen to the organisation if you are not there? i am easily replaceable? because with the slow economic recovery if anything happens company can easily eliminate activities which does not add value.

69 Instant MBA: Not Everything On Your Plate Needs To Be There
One thing everyone needs to do is manage their time. You may have 10 tasks you need to complete this week. Some of the ideas will take you 5 minutes and others 5 hours. Some of the tasks are of higher priority than others. You need to make sure you get the things that are the most important first. For example, take an actually plate with 4 items for dinner. You have a pork chop, sweet potato, green beans, and a roll. If you know that you don’t really need any more carbs today you may want to watch to eat the roll or sweet potato until the end. If you don’t need to finish one task until Friday and others are due today, you better do those first.
