It is important not only in business but in life to realize that you do not know everything and that you cannot do everything yourself. So be humble and receptive to ideas and things and watch how you prosper because to much pride can hurt you and what you are trying to achieve.

INSTANT MBA: Put Your Ego Aside And Realize That You Don't Know Everything
This article, like several others put serious emphasis on letting your employees be the driving factor behind your business. It seems that in order to be a good manager, you must try hard not to take over situations that your employees can do themselves. If you hire great employees, you can expect great work. All you have to do as a manager is get out of the way.

When many people decide to open a business they think that they know everything about their business. This is a wrong interpretation. Most of the time they have a huge ego, and really do not know anything about their line of business. You have to but that aside and realize that you do not know everything and you have to be willing to ask questions.

When you let your ego get in the way, you don’t allow yourself to give other people a chance and you don’t listen to what they have to say and what they have to say could be very valuable and help you. When working in a business, you are surrounded by tons of intelligent people. These people can really help you go farther and enable you to succeed.

INSTANT MBA: Put Your Ego Aside And Realize That You Don't Know Everything No one person knows everything! As a manager it is definitely important to be able to put your ego aside and listen to others that know more than you. Listening more than you speak can benefit you and your company. Even if you believe you are good at something there is nothing wrong with listening to someone else who also possesses those skills. Being a "know it all" will not be beneficial at all. I think it is very important to surround yourself with smart people that you can learn from. As stated in the article, the people you know are often the key to success. I totally agree with being able to put your ego to side and take action of what needs to be done no matter what the case may be. If one is good at one thing and somebody else is better than them at that well why not let them give a say so and listen to what can be done! Running a good business really relies on a bunch of team work and being able to adjust to any situation.

INSTANT MBA: Put Your Ego Aside And Realize That You Don't Know Everything
Gary's advice is invaluable. I've learned in my short career life that there is ALWAYS someone else who knows more than you do. If you put your ego aside and listen to them, as the author suggests, you can do nothing but benefit from their wisdom. In my new career as a teacher, this was one of the first bits of advice both my mom and my sister gave me: LISTEN to the veteran teachers you work with. They've been in the field for years and have learned valuable lessons the hard way and through experience. Yes, it's true that new teachers often take fresh ideas into the classrooms, ideas that veteran teachers can learn from as well. However, new teachers can learn much more from those who have been in the profession for years. I believe it's like this in any profession, and we should maintain open minds and learn from others.

I think it is important in the business world to surround yourself with knowledgeable people. It is an ever changing, fast paced environment; so it is essential to be able to learn something from everyone you surround yourself with. Like it says in the article it is impossible for one person to know everything. You must surround yourself with a strong team or network in order to stay on top of business and give yourself the tools of knowledge. Also, a lot of people would just rather try and do everything themselves, but it is important to work as a team to achieve the best result.

Instant MBA: Put Your Ego Aside ANR Realize You Don't Know Everything
It is important to listen to people that are qualified in a specific field. This can help you learn a lot from them and better your skills. If you work with someone and it is known that they are good at their job, it is best to let them do their job. Often managers get caught up with being the boss that they don't want to hear what the employee has to say, which limits them. You should let them express their ideas and do what they are good at.

Gary Lipovetsky makes a great point in this article. I agree with surrounding yourself with great people can lead you to do great things. Just like when you where a kid when you had friends that did bad things it usually got you in trouble but on the other hand if you had friends that behaved and did good things you got rewarded and praised. The same thing applies in business keeping good people in your circle can help your company become more successful.

Everyone should treat everyday as a learning experience or a chance to find out something new. Since no one person is able to know everything you need others to surround you with a second opinion. Many people let their ego get the best of them and they assume what they perceive to be right as the final answer. This can lead to your own demise since getting outside or internal criticism is what helps shape and mold your business into something better.

INSTANT MBA: Put Your Ego Aside And Realize That You Don't Know Everything
I agree with Lipovetsky. I think it is important to stay humble when you are a manager, or in any position with power. You may be the person with a higher title and salary, but that doesn't mean you are the person with the best ideas and inputs. Having the "my way or the highway" attitude as a manager can harm the company. Being willing to listen to other peoples' ideas is extremely important in business.

INSTANT MBA: Put Your Ego Aside And Realize That You Don't Know Everything
It is important to know as a managers that you dont know everything and it is ok to ask questions. It is also ok to ask for help when you begin to feel overwhelmed by a certain task. If you are hiring smart innovative people, which you should be thinking about when you hire them in the first place, you should be able to value their ideas and opinions. By listening to what is said and gaining the knowledge like a sponge can be an overall success. Knowing that you can take away valuable information from others and you are not the only one who knows what they are talking about can only help your company into becoming more diverse.

Instant MBA: Put Your Ego Aside And Realize That You Don’t Know Everything
This is an important concept that needs to be learned by everyone before going into a work place. Even if you are very qualified for the position you are in does not mean that you know everything there is to know about that job. There will always be someone who knows more about the subject than you or someone with more practice and experience in the field. It is crucial to be humble when entering a workplace first of all so as to not give your new co-workers the wrong impression of you and secondly to be open to learning everything you can from the people who have been in the field for a period of time and have seen things that you may not have before.

INSTANT MBA: Put Your Ego Aside And Realize That You Don't Know Everything
One of the worst things a person can do in business is let their ego take over so that they are not communicating with other people. Not only are you not going to know everything about everything but it I also good to get another perspective sometimes. You should never be too proud to not ask for help or advice. You need to be able to communicate with people and get ideas from people. Bouncing ideas off of someone else can even help you come up with new and better ideas. People that are going to be successful are not going to let their pride get in the way of their success.
