INSTANT MBA: An Entrepreneur Is Also A Winning Salesperson
To have a successful business you have to be able to convince other people to buy into your company. You have to pitch the idea that they need whatever you are trying to sell. If you can't sell your ideas or products, then you won't get very far. People want to see what they are getting from you and why should they buy yours and not someone else's. If you can't sell your business properly, you won't be in business long.

INSTANT MBA: An Entrepreneur Is Also A Winning Salesperson
This is a new look on entrepreneurship. Salesmen spend their entire jobs trying to get others to buy things they didn't know they needed before they met the salesman. When starting a new business, no one has ever known they needed what you were offereing, because it is new, and many many people need to buy into your idea or it will never get off the ground. Even after a business is started, there are still customers, employees, clients, investors, friends, and bankers that you have to make see the sense everyday. Thinking of an entrepreneur as an all day salesman is really genius.

An entrepreneur needs to have some type of sales ability. You have to sell your idea too many people. Including your family, investors, and lost but not least customers. If you can't sell it, find someone that can.

INSTANT MBA: An Entrepreneur Is Also A Winning Salesperson
This article is something I struggle with. I would plan on being a business owner one day, a CPA firm or a doggie day care on the side. After reading this article and the other responses from my class mates I do agree that as a business owner you must be a great salesperson. I am more of people pleaser and at times talking about money with customers at work makes me uncomfortable. This has opened my eyes that I do need to work on sales for sure. I think you have to be able to sell yourself as a person too. The job market today is saturated with people so, being able to give a great "sales" pitch of why you are the best for the job will set you apart from the other contenders.

INSTANT MBA: The Most Powerful Thing You Can Do Is Be Real
Fortunately this is something I have personally never had a problem with. I am who I am, love it or shove it. It is almost impossible for me to be fake for anybody. I have learned with my job that there are times when I have to tone it down and always keep it on a professional level, but there is never any question of my sincerity or seriousness in any situation. This helps people to always trust me regardless if they like what they hear or not because they know its my honest opinion.

I'm not sure that I agree with this article about having poor sales skills. Lots of people who make strong leaders are not necessarily good salesman. The key to communicating in a leadership position is having good people skills, not necessarily strong sales skills. After all, you can hire someone to do the selling for you if that isn't a strong trait of yours.

Even if your business does not include sales of a product, as a leader you need good sales skills to sell ideas to your business partners, employees, etc. These skills are very important for a leader to have this skill so that they can be an effective leader. Sales skills are good for any business professional to have.I think that this article makes a good point about having good sales skills. Having good sales skills can help anyone in the business world. In order to be a successful entrepreneur it is helpful if you have good sales skills. If you know how to sell things then you should have no problem selling your product you are trying to market. Also having good sales skills can help you in everyday life. For example, if you have good sales skills then you won't get taken advantage of when buy a vehicle. Vehicle salesmen are very sneaky when selling to customers so if you have good sales skills then you should be able to get a overpriced vehicle at an affordable price.

INSTANT MBA: An Entrepreneur Is Also A Winning Salesperson
As much as I personally hate selling people things, the skill is a must-have in any aspect of the business world. Every job I've ever had has involved selling someone something in one form or another, and from this, I have learned a great deal. The experiences that I gain in sales, as the article says, will go a long way in business. It is one of the most important part of a job, if not THE most important, and it is good to learn while you are young.

INSTANT MBA: An Entrepreneur Is Also A Winning Salesperson
As much as I hate sales people and direct selling, I have found myself more and more into sales and the way that people think as I get closer to thinking about my own business. You have to know what people are looking for, what your business has that others don't and you have to be willing to go out and sell it to people. Whether it be in your marketing, or if you have to directly go to people and speak about your business, this is all part of being a sales person. Working in a retail environment my whole life has allowed me to gain many traits that are awesome for sales!

Instant MBA: An Entrepreneur is Also a Winning Salesperson I agree with this article. If you plan on becoming an entrepreneur you should be a great communicator. Communication is what will help you sell you idea or product to others. Sales people are usually always good at delivering information that the recipient can take in and use. Entrepreneurs should focus on how to communicate well and how their idea is viewed. Also another key aspect to being an entrepreneur is to be able to understand what their customers want.

I'm glad I read this article because it did point something out that I had never thought of before. Though I am not going into sales, and I am not planning on selling actual objects at my business, it is still important that I know how to sell because I will be selling my business as a whole. I never thought much about the importance of sales, because I just figured I was never going that route so it wouldn't be important to focus my energy there. I suppose I should begin working on my sales skills because, as the article points out, your business wont be successful if you can't sell it.

INSTANT MBA: An Entrepreneur Is Also A Winning Salesperson
Sales skills are needed to be a successful entrepreneur, as you are not just selling a product or service, but your entire business. The advisor recommends that before a prospective business owner starts a business, that the person should take a sales job for a couple of years. Also, if a current business owner seems to be failing, it could possibly be a lack of salesmanship that is his downfall. Haden recommends that these entrepreneurs take a part time sales job to get added experience. Sales/persuasion is key in retaining additional funding (as a public entity), investors (as a public or private entity), or clientele.

INSTANT MBA: An Entrepreneur Is Also A Winning Salesperson
The article really makes a good point setting aside your business plan and work in sales for a year or two, if you’re a struggling entrepreneur, and take a part-time sales job. Part of the reason you’re struggling is likely due to poor sales skills." How strong you sell you business idea usually goes along with your sales.
