Especially as a manager or boss, it is vital to learn what your employees think of how you run the business. For example, managers may become hard to work for by constantly only informing employees of negative things they have done while working. Over time, it can harm the business, causing employees to have a sour attitude with you. Sometimes, it may even result in employees quitting. This is why it is good to know what they think of you. Often times, they can point out things you may not know you are even doing and want to change.

INSTANT MBA: Know What Your Coworkers Really Think About You
I can relate to this article and strongly agree with what Beers was saying. Sometime power can go to people's head and change the way they carry themselves and interact with others. Women in the corporate world feel they have something to prove so they tend to put on this intimidating persona which can be misleading. If you believe that you're employees think highly of you and respect you than you would think that you are doing something right. However, your employees may actually think you are a "witch". It is important to treat others the way you would want to be treated. Finding out how others view you is so important. Being aware of your negative attributes can help you to improve these qualities and become a better person and manager. If employees see that you are really trying to become a better manager they will respect you and see you in a better light. I was surprised to hear from a few co-workers that I came off unapproachable. This was a huge disadvantage to me because I deal with customers on a regular basis. It upset me to know that customers were potentially feeling scared and intimidated by me. Even co-workers were hesitant to ask questions and or ask for advice just because of my intimidating persona. After I heard this, I immediately tried to turn this impression around. I began to smile more, speak in a softer tone and use "ice-breakers" when starting conversations.

INSTANT MBA: Know What Your Coworkers Really Think About You
Because we are social animans, how others think about us is very important to us. And is someone is talking too much, he/she will be judged more often. The point is that if you talk too much or if your are unconsiously talking too much, then there is no way for others to figure out about why you are doing so. You will mostly be judged as a person who thinks that he/she is trying to show off too much. Therefore, thiking about what others might think about you is very important in any aspect of your life. Putting it in other words, it is caring about how others might be feeling about your behaviour or how would you feel if others were doing the same thing to you.

INSTANT MBA: Know What Your Coworkers Really Think About You
Knowing what other people think of you is very important if you wish to change the way you are seen by employees. The next step is being able to see what you need to change about yourself and then actually being able to make the changes needed. These changes which are needed come up because we often lose track of how we are around others when feel as though we have power of them.

Charlotte Beers says nothing’s more helpful than finding out how others see you. If you can conduct that exercise in an impersonal way, you have information you can’t get any other way. I agree with Charlotte Beers because if you know how another people sees you, it can become very helpful for yourself and the other people. The hard task is finding out how other people see you, but if you find out you will have information you cannot get anywhere else like Charlotte Beers said.

Knowing what your coworkers really think about you can help put things into perspective. "When you do have some power, you can lose the sense of how you’re behaving and who you are, and you don’t want to do that. It’s dangerous." As much as we don't want negative feedback about ourselves from our employees, it is essential. It can be an eye-opener to things you may not realize you were doing. Once you find out the things your doing that they don't like, you can start observing yourself. Then you can start consciously correcting certain behaviors. Your employees' disappoints with soon disappear.

INSTANT MBA: Know What Your Coworkers Really Think About You
No leader wants to be the boss that employees talk bad about behind their back. Leaders often do not realize the way they portray themselves may be harsh or "bossy". In this case managers should get feed back from employees on their management styles. In fact we can all try to observe the way we treat others through feed back or self realizations by being more conscious when we speak.

When coming into power don’t let it take control. Don’t forget who you are and what you are trying to achieve. You need to stay focus. Just as easy as it was to get the power, it could be easier to loss. So don’t let the power distract you from your goal.

INSTANT MBA: Know What Your Coworkers Really Think About You
We have always been taught to ignore what other people think of us. In a business situation it can be helpful, however. Some consideration should be given to the thoughts of others we work with when it comes to management style. Listening to comments can give us insight on how others perceive us and help to make us better managers. It is important to know the difference between personal insults and management styles. If personal insults are being tossed around then it goes into a different realm of management, so it imperative to understand the difference between the two.

I agree with this article. Even though we would like to act like it isn't true, the way that others see us has a lot to do with the lives that we live. If an employer doesn't think highly of you, they won't hire you. If you have a bad reputation, it might be hard for you to get a date. Things like this go hand-in-hand, and people always are quick to be defensive when the feel judged. However, it's important to be able to carry yourself in a way that others will view as professional as well as the best that you can be.

INSTANT MBA: Know What Your Coworkers Really Think About You
I believe that in order to get respect from your subordinates, you have to be stern sometimes. It is okay to be relaxed around your employees, but sometimes you cannot be friends with them because then they will treat you as their friend and you are not that (you are their boss). But, I don't think that you should be so mean as to alienate your employees. They should be able to come to you and tell you if they are having problems with a project or if another employee is not pulling their own weight.

Becoming a manager comes with a lot of responsibility and a lot of hard work to get there. I think a lot of people get into the management position and get to the point where they want to try really hard to protect it and that may come off as stand off-ish or menacing. As a manager it is really important to put feelers out and get a sense of what people think of you as sort of a self evaluation. Sometimes, we don't realize how we're acting until it is pointed out by someone else.
