INSTANT MBA: Too Much Teamwork Can Kill Creativity
I have always believed that the best teams are those which benefit from synergy. The contribution of each member is significantly important to make the team productive. Also, a team member will feel accomplished if his or her inputs are always taken into consideration. In other words, leaders must encourage their teams to participate whenever possible, so they can avoid collectivism. This leadership style would benefit the entire organization since every employee would have the opportunity to expose their ideas. So, just like the article says, there has to be a balance in the levels of teamwork to promote participation and avoid collectivism at the same time.

Instant MBA: Too Much Teamwork Can Kill Creativity
I agree with this article 60%. Teamwork is overrated sometimes. This is because individuals do not know how to collaborate with one another. It seems as though everyone is waiting on the next person to voice an opinion, and unanimously everyone agrees with that idea. Actions like these will always take the creativity away from a project. Individuality goes a long way. NO, your idea may not be used but it will be taken into consideration, and maybe put together with someone else’s idea, but how would you know if you don’t open your mouth and voice your opinion? Part of being creative is saying silly, trivial things, but it is those things that make a team come together with a brilliant idea.

INSTANT MBA: Too Much Teamwork Can Kill Creativity
This article makes plenty sense. Often times when employees are working together as a group, they often share and agree upon maybe one or two ideas collectively, but if there are five employees in a group there should be five different ideas. So I definitely agree that teamwork encourages the establishment of collectivism and group think, as stated in the article. It is very important when employees are working as a group to make sure that they also understand that though they are working together, they each are free to voice and contribute their ideas individually. Individuality should always be encouraged during teamwork projects.

Alt link 65: INSTANT MBA: Find Out What Has Meaning To You And Go After It
Today's link all boils down to the idea that if you do what you love, then you will never work a day in your life. This is very true all to often do we hear stories of people making drastic changes in their lives only to do something that, from and outside point of view, looks like it is beneth them. That person that changed their lives could not be happier though, because they are doing what they love.

I think that creativity harnessed correctly in teamwork will be the best bet. It is best for the team to come up with an idea that they can all agree on. Adding in the ideas of each individual employee will make for the best when coming together as a team. You don't want to just "settle" with and then regret the decision after leaving out all of the other employees that wanted in on the ideas.

INSTANT MBA: Too Much Teamwork Can Kill Creativity
When working as a team, you don't want to just have one idea, you want a bunch of ideas working together to come up with the best possible solution. If you take ideas from everyone, you get all different kinds of perspective. If you pigeon hold a group to just using one idea then you won't get the best possible outcome.

INSTANT MBA: Too Much Teamwork Can Kill Creativity
Group think is what hurts most businesses. Coming together as a group and discussing ideas after you have thought individually is the best way to do group work. For example, school projects tend to recieve a lot of group think. Teachers give you the assignment in class and in a moments notice you are with a group. You do not receive any time to think about the different possibilities. Instead, everyone listens to the one group leader and just agrees with them because they have no idea of what the other possibilities are.

I don't necessarily agree that too much teamwork is a bad thing. I feel that the more people you have the better. I've mostly worked in team environments and now I wouldn't have it any other way. We're able to get more work done and we come up with different ways to get the job done on time. Not every idea is gonna be a good one but the more options you have is better than not having enough.

INSTANT MBA: Find Out What Has Meaning To You And Go After It
The hardest thing for people to do is say "no." I am guilty of this, but am learning to say no. Just because you say no, doesn't mean your not a team player, or a slacker, it's learning to know what is important and how to balance your time. Delegating is also a quality that can be used to divert the no response. Find something you love to do and go do it. You may need to turn down many options, but keep focused and move towards it. Don't settle for unhappy, go for happy!

INSTANT MBA: Too Much Teamwork Can Kill Creativity I agree with this article, while groups may benefit the company, it also could hurt it. Groups allow for members to express their opinions and thoughts about situations creating a better chance to accomplish goals but sometimes members don’t get their ideas out. In every group, if it’s on purpose or not, a leader emerges that everyone seems to listen to. When this happens, group members tend to simply go with whatever the leader says instead of sharing their own thoughts about a situation. If this happen, the group is basically a one man crew so there isn’t much purpose for a group anymore.

INSTANT MBA: Too Much Teamwork Can Kill Creativity
I strongly agree with this article because i have seen this phenomenon many times in group projects in class. In an ideal group with a high degree of cohesion, individual contribution is respected and incorporated into the project in the form of building blocks. However, often times in groups such as group projects in class, each member feels entitled to their contribution as being the "only" right way to do it. The group dynamics must enable the entire group to feel appreciated so that creativity is not lost.

INSTANT MBA: Too Much Teamwork Can Kill Creativity
We had the problem of team work becoming negative with our group of Shift Captains. Shift Captains are supposed to be directly under management and are meant to lead the rest of the crew in support of the manager. This group is also required to hold monthly meetings where they are intended to get together and collaborate on ways to improve the restaurant. Whenever they got together, they never seemed to have any separate ideas, but instead would all focus on pushing one idea. As soon as one person threw an idea out there, everyone else would jump on the bandwagon and give no real contribution.

I think that team work is important to a company but you want to ensure that every team member is bringing ideas and creativity to the team. When people work in teams, there can sometimes be people who don't bring ideas and just go along with what everyone else thinks. As a leader, you need to ensure that team work is done but that there are also individual work that helps the team and company work together. This ensures that creativity is being used and that all team members are contributing to the team and work.
