The web presence of a business can be hugely expensive to create and maintain. This is especially so for small businesses like mine. I am not web design literate, and not at all experienced with social media, however these sites and services are very important for your business's credibility and ability to market yourself to potential employees. I have lost sales and lost possible employees due to my lack of a social media presence. Its not something you can ignore.

Seeking employees online is always a lot tougher because they can be anyone they want to be on the web. I mean its tough enough in real life to judge whether what you are seeing is real or an act. Dan Schawbel makes a good point in the article of putting it all out there. Being honest is a great attribute for your company to have with its customers and employees. One way to be connected is the internet or social media sites. While on social media be sure to be straight to the point and say what you mean and do not have any hidden agendas.

With today's society being quite dependent on the web, it just makes common sense for both business owners and job seekers to use the web as an effective tool.
